Berlin - Germany 2035.
“Where is that useless son-in-law?” said a man with annoyance gazing towards the still empty wedding stage. While the guests have arrived.
“Quick the wedding will start in 15 minutes.” said a woman who went into the bridal dressing room to call her daughter and son-in-law.
In a luxurious mansion of a prominent Berlin family, the Floyd family is having their only daughter's wedding with a man who is not her criteria.
“Yes, my mother is done.” said a beautiful girl wearing a white dress looking back at her mother.
“I'm also done Gwen.” said the groom standing next to her, waiting in makeup.
Intentionally the groom waits inside rather than outside even though he is done first in makeup rather than listening to an unpleasant spicy talk in the ear.
“Mervin, hurry out.” said a man who is none other than the father of the bride, Eric Floyd.
The man looked at the groom with a sharp look for some reason.
“Good, father.” replied Mervin.
He then turned to look at the bride, Gwen Blossom who was still sitting on the chair.
“Gwen, let's get out. Father and mother-in-law as well as invited guests have been waiting for us outside.” said Mervin.
He then approached the bride and grabbed her hand and walked out to the venue for their wedding.
“If Gwen had not pleaded with me while crying at my feet then there was no way I would have married my precious daughter to a man like her.” Eric murmured looking annoyed at his wife.
“That's our daughter's choice. In the future we will think later after this wedding is finished.” replied the wife calmly.
The two of them then immediately headed to the place where the wedding took place.
The wedding began and the event went smoothly even though in the middle of the wedding reception there were many guests whispering.
“Who is Eric Floyd's son-in-law?” whispered a man-invited guest to the other invited guest there.
“I don't know for sure but hear someone say his daughter-in-law is a loper.”
“Oh yes ? How could an Eric Floyd want to marry his daughter carelessly so.
The other man just put his shoulder around because he didn't know who Eric's daughter-in-law was.
Three days later
“Build !” eric snapped in the morning blind in front of Gwen's room which is now also Mervin's room.
Mervin got up and sat down. Even Gwen woke up because of her father's loud scream.
“What's dad ?” mervin asked after opening the room door.
Gwen followed Mervin and stood beside him. “Dad what's wrong?”
Eric looked at Mervin.
“What time is it now ? Time for you to work ! Remember do not go home if you do not bring a lot of money for Gwen.” hardiknya with bulging eyes and muscles around the jaw that look prominent.
“Yes, father.” Mervin replied briefly although in fact he was still sleepy and wanted to sleep.
“Dad, it's still early evening. The office hours are not open yet. The streets are also empty. Then who will buy Mervin newspaper ?” sergeant Gwen defends her husband while pulling Mervin's muscular arm to stay in the room.
“I don't want to know. As a young boy you have to work hard. Especially as a newsboy, you have to work 100 times as hard as an office worker to be successful. You know Mervin, you really smeared the face of the Floyd family accepting poor ghosts like yourself.”
Mervin was silent and lowered his head, speechless because what his father-in-law said was true he was a poor man, an orphan raised by his grandfather who also lived a simple life.
“Quick out ! Why haven't you moved from where you stand!” jolt Eric.
Mervin then immediately came out of the room and released Gwen's hand from her arm.
After preparing, he went into the kitchen for breakfast.
“Hey Mervin, today you can only have breakfast after bringing home some money.” hardik mother-in-law while rejecting Mervin's hand violently when touching the plate on the table.
“Ya, mom.”
Mervin turned around and came out of the kitchen, walking limply while holding his stomach that felt sore.
Outside the house of the neighbors who had been awake at that time, saw Mervin on foot.
“See that's Eric's son-in-law. It turns out that he was right a newspaper loper.” murmured as he pointed towards Mervin who brought many newspapers from the fence of his house.
“Gosh, how could he take a trash son-in-law like him. Is there no other man of this world besides that man?” he said with a sneer and a loud voice that of course can be heard by Mervin.
Mervin looked at the two neighbors who had talked about him and then looked down and walked back.
“They talk about me.” his murmur is sad and strengthens his own heart.
Mervin walked with piles of newspapers down the street shouting to offer his newspaper.
