16. Meet Eugene

Ranvier seems to be enjoying his trip this time. After thinking about everything, Ranvier finally chose to go to West Nusa Tenggara accompanied by Tomi rather than attend a graduation event held on the same day at his school.

Seeing Ranvier sitting leaning quietly Tomi smiled.

With his face and two palms attached to the window makes Ranvier sure if the man is not a human but a ghost. Because at that time the bus that Ranvier was riding was speeding over the highway that cut through the forest. It was impossible for the man to stick tightly to the window without falling down even though there was no adhesive there.

" Toooloonnggg..," said the man shrieked to make Ranvier's hair bristle.

Ranvier also blinked his eyes and a second later the figure of the man disappeared just like that to make Ranvier sigh in relief. But Ranvier's body stiffened again because as he looked ahead, he saw the European man coming closer to him.

" May I sit here...?" asked the man while pointing at the empty spot beside Ranvier.

Ranvier was surprised to find that the chair Tomi had occupied was empty. Unable to resist, Ranvier nodded while grumbling in his heart because he did not find Tomi there.

" Where the hell is Bang Tomi, go and not say it..," Ranvier grumbled in his heart.

" Include Me Eugene, who are you...?" the European asked the man while extending his hand.

Ranvier turned his head towards the man when he heard how fluent the man spoke in Indonesian. Ranvier was still sculpting while observing the man from head to toe.

" Oh ga, I am Ranvier..," said Ranvier quickly as he shook Eugene's hand tightly.

Eugene smiled then sat leaning against the back of the chair as he stuck his foot on the floor of the bus. From his seat Ranvier could see that Eugene was not wearing footwear. The bottom of his trousers was torn to reveal some of his pale skin.

But Ranvier's heart beat fast when he saw a blackish-red liquid flowing from behind Eugene's long cel*na. Ranvier's gaze also rose up along the body of the European man. Ranvier was surprised when he saw that the blackish-red liquid not only came out from behind the long cel*na but also wet Eugene's clothes.

And Ranvier's heartbeat seemed to stop when his gaze hit Eugene's face. How not. Just then Ranvier saw Eugene's shattered face as if it was facing towards him with both eyes glaring and mouth gaping.

In that instant Ranvier knew that the blood that had soaked Eugene's clothes came from his shattered head.

" Astaghfirullah aladzim...! " ranvier said loudly while closing his eyes.

Ranvier suddenly heard Tomi's voice near him. She also felt Tomi's palms pat her cheeks repeatedly.

Ranvier also ventured to open his eyes. It was then that he saw Tomi's face was right in front of him. Ranvier pushed Tomi's face with his palm away.

Ranvier's words inevitably made Tomi laugh. Tomi sat back down while holding her stomach which hurt from mostly laughing. While Ranvier looked sad.

Ranvier looked around and smiled as he saw the towering mountain in the distance.

Eugene's facial skin was back in one piece but was covered in blood coming from the wound in his mouth. Ranvier shuddered in horror as he looked at the gaping wounds ranging from the lips to Eugene's ears. And the wound made Eugene's lower jaw hang freely almost loose.

Ranvier turned his face and ran after Tomi who walked first.
