Sacrificing For Others

When a voice sounded from the sky, the atmosphere that had been happy instantly turned tense again. The laughter from the entire village that had been heard everywhere turned silent.

Liu Fan and his troops who recognized the voice instantly stared solemnly towards the sky where the voice was coming from.

They were all shocked after seeing not only one person who was in the sky but there were ten people floating in the sky.

"Counselor King!" Liu Fan spoke while gritting his teeth as it held back his anger.

"You seem to keep siding with the poor people who are here as it turns out.. Liu Fan." said the king's advisor who was in the middle of the cultivators in the sky. "You should take sides with the royal family."

"But you chose to side with these lowly people" said the king's adviser in the middle.

"You think I'll take sides with people like you!"

"Those who are here are much better than rotten dogs like you who do all sorts of rotten things in order to succeed."

"You who are supposed to be the royal family give them a decent living but instead drive them away and force your needs to be met without working at all!" Liu Fan then threw spit onto the ground with his emotions.

"Haha!" The entire cultivator in the sky immediately laughed after hearing Liu Fan's words.

"You're too naive! In this world only the powers rule, to which the strong are the victors and the weak are to submit."

"I'll give you one last chance. Join us, then you and your family will be forgiven and will live with abundant wealth. Or..."

"You chose to die with all these men and also your soldiers whom you are very proud of" said the king's adviser.

As the king's adviser said that, Liu Fan instantly fell silent as this concerned his own family.

"I will support your choice sir!" wu Yao said to Liu Fan.

"I also support whatever choices you make!" tang Li said.

"I support whatever your choice is. Because of you we can like this, you've sacrificed more than just to protect us!" said Xu Deng.

"Three of you..." Liu Fan was surprised by the words of his three men.

"True general, we support all your options!"

"As long as we follow you, you've sacrificed too much for all of us!"

The voices of the poor and their troops were heard.

"All of you..."

"It's okay, you've done more than enough for all of us" said the old man cutting off Liu Fan's speech.

"If it wasn't for you half of us would have died long ago" the old man smiled.

"Don't just protect us until you sacrifice your family, General." shouted one of the poor to echo.

If Liu Fan sided with the royal family he would have already broken through to the Nascent Soul realm long ago but because he gave his income to help the people in this village until Liu Fan lacked resources the power to increase his cultivation.

Liu Fan then looked towards his wife who was carrying his daughter. As their eyes met, Liu Fan's wife looked at him while smiling at Liu Fan.

Liu Fan then took a deep breath and exhaled. "I will not side with the kingdom, it's the same I am as those who are so very rotten, I would rather die than join the rotten rats like them." liu Fan shouted as he looked at the adviser.

"So you chose their people over your family?."

"I'm really disappointed in you Liu Fan!" said the adviser while looking at the residents with a look of disdain.

Liu Fan did not answer the advisory question, he immediately walked up to him. "I'm sorry my wife, forgive my daughter's father" Liu Fan said with a guilty face.

"I've always supported you, and the choice you make is the best choice." his wife always supported Liu Fan no matter what choice Liu Fan chose.

"Please promise to try to run away from here and take care of both of our children."

"And if you can, save as many people here as possible" Liu Fan said as he stroked his daughter's head and smiled at the two of them.

"Dad won't leave Liu Mei and mom right?" his daughter asked Liu Fan.

"Dad is not going anywhere, after this take good care of your mother and grow up to be a strong cultivator like father in order to protect your mother." Liu Fan could only lie to his daughter because he did not want his daughter to worry.

"Liu Mei will definitely become stronger than father! So I have to see Liu Mei become strong later." Liu Mei told Liu Fan innocently and with a smile.

"This is dad's daughter!" Liu Fan smiled at his daughter.

Then Liu Fan looked back at his wife and said "I'll buy time for you all."

"And if the man had arrived we might have survived, if they were late..."

"Go away from here and live quietly, and if you meet them ask for protection from them. His name was Zhao Bai and he had a master who said he was so strong." Hearing Liu Fan's words they smiled then nodded their heads.

Somehow Liu Fan's instincts said that Zhao Bai and Bai Feng were good people and they would keep their promises even if they were late.

"Soldiers, listen to my last command for you!"

"Me and your three leaders will stretch out time to wait for the coming of the man, if they have not come yet... You run away from here with your families and take these villagers and protect them all!" Liu Fan shouted at his soldiers.

"We don't want the General!"

"We will fight to the death against them together with you!"

"Really! We'd rather die than be losers to get out of here."

The voice was heard from the entire army.

"You must live on and that's an order if you still consider me your general!"

"But the general." The soldiers still did not listen to Liu Fan's orders and tried to find a reason to fight with Liu Fan.

"Look at the people, look at your families, they will be the new generation, and they will continue the struggle of me and your leadership someday." liu Fan said as he pointed at the residents and families of his soldiers.

"If you guys really respect me, follow my last command without saying much." shouted Liu Fan.

Liu Fan's soldiers stopped looking for excuses after hearing Liu Fan's words and tears welled up from their eyes.

"Continue living! Even if I'm gone, I'll always be in the hearts of all of you."

"You running from here doesn't mean you're cowards, but you'll be remembered as heroes because you saved so many lives from this place. Thank you for trusting me as your general." Liu Fan refrained from letting out his tears.

"Thank you general for everything!" all the soldiers and villagers shouted while bowing their heads to Liu Fan and his three men.

They turned and stood up in unison with tears flowing from their eyes.

"I don't want to go if I don't come!" his daughter rebelled from his wife's embrace to go to Liu Fan.

Be a strong princess and protect your mother!" Liu Fan could only smile at his daughter.

"You think the four of you can hold you back ten?" said the adviser to Liu Fan and Liu Fan's three men.

"You who are only at the Late Nine-Tiered Core Formation and your three men who are only at the Late 5th Core Formation can go against all of us?"

The nine cultivators who were in the air had the weakest realm at the Core Formation Level One Peak realm numbered four people, whereas those five people were at the Three Peak Core Formation realm, and the latter was an advisor who possessed the peak Level Eight Core Formation realm.

"We can't beat all of you but that's enough to give them time to get out of here." said Liu Fan then took out the sword that was on his waist and his three men also took out their respective weapons.

"Alright if that's the choice of the four of you."

"You nine faced Liu Fan's three men and handed Liu Fan over to me" said the adviser ordering the nine cultivators.

"Good!" they all then moved to fight against the three Liu Fan men.

Liu Fan's three men instantly fought the enemy that was approaching them. Although they were only three but their fighting strength could not be underestimated as Liu Fan trained the three of them very hard.

Although the three of them were quite overwhelmed against the nine cultivators who were above their realm but their fighting spirit continued to rise.

Liu Fan attacked the king's adviser. The king's adviser immediately repelled Liu Fan's attack on him and a fierce fight ensued.

Liu Fan could not surpass the king's advisors at all due to the difference in cultivation of the two of them, Although the king's advisor was already at the peak Level Eight Core Formation realm and Liu Fan was still at the Late Nine Core Formation realm, however, Liu Fan's difference in fighting strength was superior to that of an advisor because Liu Fan was a supreme general of the Obsidian kingdom where Liu Fan often trained hard and went down in battle.

The king's adviser laughed, he then disappeared and appeared next to Liu Fan and directly attacked him. Liu Fan who was unaware of it could not fend off his attack at all and instantly fell to the ground like a meteor. The moment Liu Fan's body collided with the ground he instantly coughed and spat out a lot of blood from his mouth.

The person who had been running around stopped and looked at the fallen Liu Fan.

"Dad!!" Princess Liu Fan shouted after seeing her father fall from the sky.

Everyone's faces also looked hopelessly at Liu Fan who had fallen from the sky to spit out a lot of blood from his mouth.

Liu Fan's three men were covered in wounds all over his body, whereas his enemy had no injuries whatsoever.

As the three of them turned their attention to Liu Fan, their enemies instantly attacked the three of them making the three of them fall to the ground like Liu Fan.

The nine cultivators instantly surrounded the three Liu Fan men who were lying in a hole in the ground. The king's adviser then landed near Liu Fan.

"You are too naive with your very weak power as it dares to go against me" said the king's adviser.

Liu Fan remained silent without answering the words of the king's adviser who was in front of him.

"Because you don't want to side with us, I'm going to make your life full of suffering, starting from seeing your beloved family die before your own eyes" the king's adviser said with an evil smile.

"Don't you dare touch my family!!!" Liu Fan was furious and wanted to stand up to stop the king's adviser but he had no strength left at all due to the injuries he had sustained.

You, go and kill his family now." The king's adviser told one of the cultivators who surrounded Liu Fan's three men to kill Liu Fan's family.

The cultivator then flew with the sword in his hand to kill Liu Fan's wife and daughter.

"Dad save us!!!" shouted daughter. Then Liu Fan's wife protected her daughter by putting her back on her back to protect her daughter.

"DON'T!!!" Liu Fan tried his hardest to save his wife and child but to stand up he could not bear the injuries he had sustained.

"Before the sword touched Liu Fab's wife's back, there was a ball of light that suddenly appeared and stopped the sword that was about to attack the two of them.

"A mosquito like you is trying to kill an ordinary person who is already defenseless, are you shameless." there was a sound from the light that stopped the cultivator's sword.
