Theft of the Future

Theft of the Future
Chapter 26

The pace and Delphia walked slowly, away from the battlefield.

Go outside, seek refuge, find a place to go home.

Tck Tck!

There was a sound of an eruption from Delphia's hand.

Eruptions and splashes of ice were still left, along with his fresh blood that was imprinted on both of his wrists. The pace that saw that pitiful hand on his shoulder could only worry, without giving any meaningful help. Even so, they could calm down a little since it was time for them to go home.

The task is done. The tracking device for navigation and checking provided by Iris is already stored in a place that is difficult to find. If indeed the tracking device is very accurate and has the best technology, stored in the ground even though it can still be detected, right?

Luckily, there was a vehicle parked in front of the wreckage.

That's a Jeep.

Why is it in the woods, somewhere like this?

Perhaps, the conspirators used it to replenish its supply, or perhaps to move to forests and cities more easily. Nowadays, especially with technology spread all over the city, no one wants to stay in the forest away from technology, right?

At first, Laju didn't care so much.

But, when he glanced deeper, the car still had wheels coming into contact with the ground. That's an amazing discovery! Although actually seeing a car is a very normal thing, but seeing a car that still uses four wheels between flying cars that meet the city center is unique, right?

Self-confidence The pace to be able to go home intact also increased dramatically.

He intersects Delphia who is half-asleep beside the driver's seat, also himself who steadied himself behind the wheel of the car, and they are ready to go home. Unfortunately, he was still a spoiled rich kid who never drove his own car. He can't just drive this Jeep.

But, we are talking about Laju, the idol superstar who is not an ordinary human being. After failing for the first time by crashing the car on a tree trunk, Laju immediately understood all the control possessed by the car, as well as the pressure that must be given in stepping on the gas, brakes, and all sorts of things.

The pace that was proud of his achievement unconsciously returned to bragging and flaunting. “See? It's easy, right?” Ask no one but himself.

No one responded, except for the swaying grass.

But, his distracted attention is not only a process to boast. When her head turned to the left, where Delphia was folding herself, hugging her legs, was sleeping, groaning in pain. Laju's smile slowly faded, which continued with his lowered hand.

Laju slowly felt sympathy for the strange girl next to him, who had always been the source of his troubles all along. Initially, Laju wanted to protest. But, what was happening now was that Laju who was opening the car door, exiting, went back to the ruins, scanning the item he thought could be used for Delphia, without thinking at all, without any hassles at all.

“It's still clean, right?”

Afterwards, Laju returned to the car, looking at Delphia who was still in pain, to sneak some used cloth that was quite comfortable for him.

A small smiling pace, along with a tinge of sunlight that began to welcome began the morning.

It's time to go home.

Initially, Laju did not know about the direction he had to choose in order to return to the city. They had spent two weeks in the forest, had gone through the strange and absurd intricacies of the forest, to go blind and forget where the city should be.

But, the presence of the car turned out to be a clue to the direction of his return.

This car parked in front of the wreckage is not without reason, right?

After tracing and driving around for a while, Laju found a land with a former vehicle wheel path that concluded the solution of his blinding problem.

Without further ado, Laju immediately drove the car, drove in the footsteps of the wheels of the car, swerved through the bush, between the trees, entered the cave, climbed trees, passed the river, and passed through the river, until finally after another six hours spent trekking through the forest looking for a way home, they found a tinge of light and vehicle noise that showed good signs.

In front of them, there was already a highway, where the first Laju had come flying with Iris, and this uninvited girl who had apparently already woken up, was squinting her eyes at the dazzling sunlight.

“Ng?” Delphia wondered.

The pace was shocked by Delphia who had apparently woken up. Has his condition improved? Not so fast, right?

“We're out of the woods,” Laju smiles back. “How are your injuries? Should we go to the doctor?”

Delphia shook her head.

Then after, Delphia slowly wriggled stretching her body. Starting from his hands, his head, also his body, until finally back to sitting steady. Actually, Delphia was still very tired. But, at the end of the stretching session, Delphia still gave a thin smile to Laju.

Delphia was like convincing this guy that Delphia was okay.

“Then the question is how do we get home? Are we okay driving between those flying cars? What if the police stop us?” Back to staring at the highway. “We can't depend on Parker, right?” The pace of asking turned Delphia.

The girl initially only looked at the cars driving in front of her. Once aware that she was being spoken to by Laju, she was quite shocked. It never occurred to him that Laju would invite him to speak directly like that, doing pleasantries to pass the time.

Delphia could only shrug her shoulders, plus another awkward thin smile.

“Yeah, I don't want to walk all day like that anyway. Hahaha!” The speed again holds the steering wheel, looks left and right, stomps on the gas, and is ready to drive among the flying cars around it.

Only after another hour they spent driving – which was also surprised by Laju that they did not meet a single policeman to ticket and stop them, Laju had to stop because the car ran out of gas. But, this is still good news because they have entered into the city center, a place full of tall buildings, then-passing monsters on the sidewalk, as well as holograms here and there.

“Haaah, we finally arrived!” Slowly get down from the car.

He looked around, stretching his body, breathing the dirty air he missed.

“Come!” Without warning, Laju immediately invited and clasped Delphia's hand to go back around the city. Instead of Delphia rejecting as well, she was simply shocked at Laju's sudden action. But before that, he was more surprised by Laju's own more aggressive action to him.

And more importantly, finally Laju considers and treats Delphia as living beings and humans in general. No longer was it an insect, a rodent, or something he hated.

“Ng!” Delphia nodded in reply.

They walked together to Parker's place. However, this time they walked hand in hand, side by side, side by side, side with each other. Not walking together by chance, with a distance of four meters in front.

Although there wasn't much talk they did to discuss this and that, especially their experience of living two more weeks inside the forest, Delphia felt this was more than enough. Even though he was actually confused, did he deserve this feeling, because all he could do was to trouble Laju alone.

Lately he can't see the future anymore.

What the hell's going on?

“Woaaaah!” The voice of the crow woman, Iris, who filled the room, welcomed the arrival of Laju and Delphia.

His surprise was unexpected, like seeing a treasure buried for hundreds of years. Although he did not expect much, but his appearance really made him amazed, petrified, so untrustworthy.

Before everyone was curious as to what Iris was responding to, Laju had already walked into the room more calmly, without snorting and slamming here and there like before. Except, give a dirty body full of dust and dirt, which gives off a pungent odor.

“Wahahaha! Great for you too, yes!” Iris patted Laju, as she approached kissing him, recognizing what smells were attached to the body of this boy. “Hmmm, this is not a fake smell. The smell is still strong, it is fresh. Ahaha! Nice, nice!”

Afterwards, Iris clasped her hands to Laju, clenched her hard, and swiped her fists at Laju with a nosy smile of her flagship.

Meanwhile, Audy who was troubled by the disgusting thick smell instead groaned, moved away from the entrance, and gave a dangerous voice to Laju and Delphia. Understandably, the task is more focused on instant fast attacks. It's not his hobby to dirty his body. This is certainly because water is his enemy, his family's enemy, his race's enemy.

He always tries to stay away from Aaron.

“Are you seriously hugging the boy, Iris? Would you like me to clean up too?” Aaron asked sarcastically. “This scent stinks! Very piercing! Quickly stretch your hands! I'll clean everything!”

And that way, Aaron turned his hand easily, controlling a pillar of water that moved smoothly to and fro, cleaning, carrying with him the dirt and odors possessed by Laju and Delphia, and, also Iris who had just hugged them.

“What is this storm?”

From the left area, from a room with a door leaf smaller than the stature of the owner of the voice, slowly appeared the appearance of a very large person. That's Parker. And when she had just walked out of the room and seen who had come, she was as shocked as Iris.

“Wah, your guest is really amazing huh, Iris?” Parker continues while keeping some books and documents on the main table. “Maybe next they can see the doctor's grandmother for further examination. Audy, accompany them huh?”

“Hah!? You may. As long as he's clean! It's clean, right?” Audy replied who was starting to calm down because the smells were also slowly disappearing.

Next, he moved back to the sofa in order to continue his nap carefully. But, he was a little surprised to see Delphia who had already sat next to his favorite area. Actually, Delphia didn't bother him at all, except by the smells.

After all, looking at Delphia who had always smiled sweetly from the start, Audy had an excellent impression of this girl.

Slowly but surely, Audy approached Delphia who was still giving her sweet smile. With her snort realizing that the foul scent had completely disappeared, Audy slowly went back to sleep and snored. Snore?

Oh. This girl caressed him comfortably.

“Kurrrrrrr,” exciting Audy who feels the pleasure of the world.

“So, you finished that mission in just two weeks?” Parker asked with both hands kept at his waist. “Wow!” He exclaimed in amazement while smiling as Laju completely exceeded his expectations.

Feeling that he had to respond well, Parker walked slowly closer to Laju. However, Laju instead of directly keeping watch did the horses prepare for battle again like before. He just turned his head around because he saw Parker so tall, wondering what he was going to do.

Puk!

With a slight bend adjusting his height to Laju, Parker stroked and stroked Laju's head. Very comfortable, very soft, albeit with a super large palm.

“You're great, Ju. I'm proud of you!” Call Parker without hesitation.

Actually, it was just a normal compliment.

Praise is often received by Laju, until Laju himself is sick of hearing these words that mostly have no meaning behind them.

But, I don't know why Laju felt something else. Something sincere and warm, behind the praise and elusan of Parker. Especially, with his great stature, there was a figure that Laju deeply missed. The figure reminded him, that Laju is just an ordinary boy who needs attention from his surroundings, from his parents. And Parker subconsciously just gave that attention.

Therefore, Laju tried his hardest to save this moment very well, with all his heart.

In fact, slowly Laju started to shed tears.

Suddenly, his head was immediately subdued to hide and cover it. Certainly not out of fear, not out of shame.

But everyone knows too. Liking and enjoying the beauty.

Everyone knew, Laju was smiling very widely.

Parker, who also realized it, did not plan to complete the eruption. He knew, that Laju needed this affection.

“You must be tired, right? How about taking a break first? At the end of the room there is a dormitory that you can use,” said Parker slowly, sincerely, attentively. “Then, if you need anything, just call. I will always be here to help you.” Added Parker.

The pace that did not want to be seen was leaving tears, only nodding without making a sound.
