The Voice of the Husband

The Voice of the Husband
Decisions

"Are you willing to be my wife and mother to my child?" Naren looked at Nara's beautiful face. His clear net made Naren feel shady.

Silence became a pause shortly after the question that Naren threw at Nara. Naren's great hope placed on the woman who was now shaking her legs slowly. His eyes focused forward. A few times blinked then lowered his head while exhaling slowly.

Nara, she herself did not expect that there would be this question between her and her company's clients. Now between confusion and fear.

He is confused, will accept or not. For some reason, his heart rippled when he was at this close distance. It is no longer the two clients of the company who are discussing cooperation. But, two humans with different tastes.

And he's scared too. He was afraid of what he had been waiting for arrived. Moreover, it happened after he received the one-child man beside him.

What is he waiting for?

His girlfriend, he's been missing for two years. Where not. Leaving him alone. Struggling without any encouragement other than family.

His girlfriend told him to be an independent person. That's a challenge. And he accepted it, by becoming CEO of the Firma Group's corporate branch. Then after the challenge he proved, why did his lover just leave? Even without giving any reason? Is it funny to leave someone?

"You don't need to answer now. I'll wait." Nara was aware of her daydreaming. He turned his face ninety degrees. A line of sight with Naren.

"I can answer now" he said with a faint smile.

Mother once said, never laugh at people. Moreover, the people we disappoint are people who are really sincere and serious.

Recalling the mother's words, Nara took a breath, looking ahead. Look at the fountain that is the decoration behind the office. He hoped that the decision he made was not wrong.

"What's your answer?" Naren raised his voice. Look at the fountain. Preparing to fly or fall.

"Bismillah, I am willing to be your wife and mother to your child."

A clear thread flows after the spoken sentence ends. Dropped onto the surface of the hood that Nara was wearing at the time. His heart is beating fast. As soon as he felt it too. Somehow there was pain when he said 'willing'.

Unlike Nara, the man beside her smiled. His heart drifted far away. Feeling happy is amazing. Like when his late wife said the same thing.

A month after that day, the wedding took place. Two families were seen getting along from the main stage. A thin smile was engraved on Nara's red lips. He was happy, seeing his parents were happy with besan.

"Are you happy?" the heavy voice of the man who is now her husband managed to distract Nara.

Not immediately answering, Nara nodded slowly first. "Alhamdulillah be happy." though in his heart blurs something else. Still hoping her lover comes and gives the answer to all her questions so far.

Night came with the cold air. The two humans who had just become husband and wife were sitting on the balcony befriending warm milk. Both of them looked awkward, like when they were in the garden behind the office.

"I'm sorry before. It's purely my fault." Nara started after drinking a little milk in a glass. He was still holding onto it, feeling the warmth radiating from the palm of his hand.

The night wind blows. Wearing a handsome and tired face father-daughter one. He took a glass of warm white milk, warming the body that was getting cold.

"I don't know what you mean about mistakes. Because, we've just climbed a new leaf in the household." Naren. Looking at that tired looking pretty face for a few seconds. Then look back out the balcony.

Hearing such a reply, Nara lowered her head. Baffled. It will start from where. Scared, it offended her husband if he knew the truth.

"I'm sorry, I haven't been honest about this. I'm still waiting for the right time. And maybe now is the time. I'm asking, whatever I say later, you'll understand."

The eyes of the two meet. Look at it gently. Straightest.

Naren drank some more warm milk. The air cooled, and so did their conversation. "Tell me."

Nara is powerless if she has to be honest by staring at the shady netra of her husband. It hard. Until finally, he chose to see a skyscraper that looks slick. Holding tightly to the glass that delivered a warm feeling to his cold body.

Those brownish-black corneal eyes were glazed over. His heart was like slashed. A confusing feeling. Ambiguous if thought.

The man beside her carved a faint smile. A glass of milk that only a quarter of him drank up to the toilet. I don't know why his throat was suddenly dry. His lips are confused to just reply to a successful speech to make his heart torn.

"I'm sorry... Because I just said all this."

Resisting the turmoil of the heart, Naren chose to get up from the chair. Trying to smile to cover the overwhelming taste. Then he said, "Papa. Maybe you still need time to get me." After that, Naren left. Do not want to express a sense of turbulence in women who sit quietly on the balcony chair.

***

The call of the taxi driver made Naren aware of the daydream of decorating the road to the house that became his destination in this foreign country. He reached into his pocket, giving money to the taxi driver. Then the door opened. He went out and took his belongings that were in the trunk of the car.

"Thanks." -."

The taxi left after Naren finished unloading the items he was carrying. Before walking up several stairs to the main door, he first looked at the house which is now inhabited by his small family. Small house, but able to provide warmth.

The shadow that approached in the taxi was tepis. He doesn't deserve to think about all that. Now lives the happiness that he will pick up after a long awaited.

Tinctong! Tinctong!

Not much after pressing the doorbell of the house open. She showed a beautiful little girl with a handsome man beside her. They join hands. Close, like not letting go.

"Princess?" Naren spread his arms wide. Opening a longing embrace for his daughter.

"Daddy?!!" the little princess immediately hugged the body of the daddy with a wide-flowing smile.

Jordan's lashes blinked a few times. Still watching the scenery he rarely saw. A father's warm embrace to his daughter. He wants that too. But, my dad is too busy. Until I forget that someone is waiting for him at all times.

"Who's coming?" the question that greeted the sense of hearing made the three people look to the source of the sound.

"Daddy Yumna, Auntie Na." Jordan answered first. Pointing towards Naren and Yumna who were shedding their longing through hugs. It made the person who asked me stay on the spot.

"Sister? Is that you?"
