The night air felt so cold, piercing through the hard bones. A gentle blowing breeze reopened the old memories of his childhood. A time when he is free to play and laugh cheerfully without burden and sadness. It is sad if reality is too deep to be stored so that it cannot come to the surface, showing how reality scratches wounds and is happy in the heart and soul. This is not a bitter past, but a past so sweet that it chose to go and disappear without a trace. Not that he wanted to, but God's unpredictable fate line would eventually lead him to a reality that would hurt one day.
La Tahzan, do not be sad. Believe that God knows better what is best for you. That's what he always told himself.
"Mom, does Tami have a brother?" Tami looked at the shady face of the woman sitting beside her and like her, the look of that calm face changed instantly. He should not have asked that silly question.
Tami exhaled a cross-breath and then spread her gaze around. As usual, tonight Tami and her mother sit on the porch staring at the beautiful sky of the moon and thousands of stars that shine very bright. His beautiful and dazzling creation is one of the many worldly facilities that complement the beauty of this mortal world, yet so often do not realize it all and forget it.
Not immediately getting an answer, Tami tried to turn her head, her round eyes were deep black trying to look back at the change in facial expression of the five-headed woman he used to call mother. It was obvious that the mother was very surprised to hear the question of her child, but quickly she changed her face, she was afraid that her shock could be read by the child.
"What are you talking about, son?" tanyakanya. The shocked expression on his face he made as reassuring as possible so as not to raise new suspicions and questions that would expose a secret that had been kept tight for years. "You know, you're the only mother's child. The most devoted and loving child in the world." continued the mother. His old hands stretched out to rub Tami's khimar-covered head gently and lovingly.
In this big house, they only live alone, the mother and the round-eyed girl, Tami Nurul Sabrina.
Tami's head turned, her eyeballs slowly shrinking shut with her eyelids along with the sweet smile she was trying to put on her face. He knows his questions are a little offending and his mother's feelings but curiosity about his past often makes him curious and the curiosity grows when he accidentally meets a girl who is very similar from the tip of the hair to the tip of the foot. Even said Clara, his close friend, they were both splintered in two.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. Tami nanyanya strange." said Tami feel guilty.
"Yes, it's okay, baby. I understand your curiosity. But what matters now is living the life of the moment. The past exists to be a lesson to live tomorrow, not to be remembered."
His mother was always this wise in advising, making the curiosity that had just popped into his mind instantly disappear. It is true what people say, that the advice of a mother is like water that waters the heart of her children, bringing coolness and inner calm. Tami hugged her mother's arm and leaned her head there. Occasionally like this, reminiscing about childhood in the depths of the night warms the recesses of souls in need of peace.
"Yuk yuk, it's already malem, tomorrow you will schedule a male shift. Where it's cold again."
"Mom go first. The view of the sky is good, baby if taken."
"Yes, not long ago, someone will take the mother's child again."
"Ah, Mommy. Where would anyone want to take this mother's child, ngesot nurse? where could he be with a friend of his profession."
"Yes, once there was a handsome guy who wanted to kidnap a mother's son to be taken to KUA."
"Well, if you kidnap to be taken to KUA I really want to. Bosen. Ondel-ondel alone both, Tami's own time mulu."
"Prophey, Mother's son. God willing, a mate must be a guest." said Mother and once again she stroked Tami before finally disappearing behind the door.
"Credit potter kali ah who met." muttered Tami alone.
.........
Her mother's advice that night was enough to be a source of encouragement for Tami in living her days at work whose situation is sometimes uncertain. Maybe true said his mother, for what continues to dig into the past that can not be remembered just to satisfy his curiosity. He did not need any of it at all because during his life he was always surrounded by people who unceasingly bestowed affection for him.
After taking care of the patients who were victims of traffic accidents, Tami decided to take a short break on a long bench that was right in front of the nurse station. As soon as he took a breath, the air mixed with the smell of drugs directly penetrated into his lung cavity.
"Yes!" call someone loud enough.
Tami who was half-covered while trying to stretch the muscles of her stiff body was surprised instead of playing when she felt her shoulders being hit rather hard. He repeatedly exhaled while patting his chest to lift his rapidly beating heart from being too shocked.
"Ish, just habit. Dateng-dateng not say hello, eh ngagetin people. Good thing I don't have heart disease, otherwise I could be a patient who takes care bed in the ER." Smell it with a smelly face.
"Yes, sorry. Reflexes, suddenly passed in my brain this mumet to ngaggetin you, Ta. Uh, but your startled expression is pretty much what relaxes my brain, hehehe." Tasya laughed softly. He and Clara put their backs together on Tami's left and right sides.
"Other times if ngagetin again, I send you both to Kindergarten again so that you can be taught the same teacher how to greet people properly and correctly."
Tasya put her two fused palms in front of her forehead while saying, "Yes, Mak. Sorry, it will not be repeated again.
"Sst."
Tasya lifted her head and then grinned awkwardly when she found the head nurse suddenly appeared from behind the nurse station table gave her a signal to slow down her voice that was too late.
"Sorry, Sister Salwa. That's the release."
The woman named Salwa shook her head for a moment and then returned to focus on her computer screen that displayed hospital patient data.
"Eh, by the way, Ta, " said Clara who had just sat quietly. "You've been going to Mom not yet about the possibility of you having a twin brother."
"Ouch, Ra. I'm staying up on that again."
"What's wrong, Ta? Your mother answered what you were doing." asked Tasya with a twinkle full of question marks.
Tami took a breath, recalling the answer to the question she asked her mother two nights ago. "Mom says I don't have a brother let alone a twin. I'm the only mother's son."
"Seriously your mom said that?" clara's question made Tami raise her eyebrows up.
"Seriously, Ra. I lied to you."
"But how can it look so similar? If you stand face-to-face, he must look like someone else looking in the mirror. Exact same. Sure enough, everyone will say you're twins." The mangosteen clara agreed to Tasya's speculation. To be honest, Tami feels awkward with the resemblance of his face to a young doctor who accidentally met him in the hospital.
"Maybe it's just a coincidence" said Tami trying to break Tasya's speculation. "Have you ever heard of a doppelganger? It's said that people have seven twins in this world."
"Since when did a Tami Nurul Sabrina believe in myths huh?" tasya Cibir. He knows very well that Tami is a person who does not believe at all with the name of a myth.
"Since I've been with Tasya, the ngayal." Tami responded.
"Sorry well, here's a quality ngayal. Different classes. But Yes, let's just say that you are twin brothers who are not the same blood...who the hell is his name?" tasya asked while trying to remember the name of the young doctor who he thought was very similar to Tami.
"His name is Karina, Princess Karina Adhyastha." Clara.
"He's a patient at this hospital?" ask Tasya.
"No. He's a general practitioner at the hospital next door. He said he was a beautiful angel IGD guard who made his patients feel at home for a long time in lying on the treatment bed. He's already engaged to one of the doctors who works here."
"Oh, pantesan he likes to play here" said Tasya while ooh ria.
"There's info on where you are, Ra. How do I know so much about him?" ask Tami.
"From Dian," Clara mentioned the name of their classmate during nursing school. "He happens to work in the same hospital as Dr. Karina."
"Well, missing one more list of my potential mate." said Tasya. The tone of the twenty-two-year-old girl sounded so sad as if she had been left behind by a married lover.
Clara rolled her eyes. "Oh, Yes. You want to marry."
Tami hit Clara's thigh slowly. "Married, Ra. Mating with a cat."
"Here, eleven twelve is mah. You both make children." apparently.
"Well, it's thought that marriage is like making a child's factory." Tasya's lips with eyebrows up and down. Tami and Clara just grinned at hearing it.
"Rather than talking about marriage, you want to go change your clothes, Ra. Your clothes stain a lot of blood that way." proposed Tami.
Clara looked at her clothes which were filled with many red stains. "Yes, I forgot. My shirt splashed the patient's blood."
"Aunty nurse abis ngicep is the answer, Ma? Ask a girl who happened to pass in front of them.
"Yes, there's such a big apron like this." Catch the other girl. His two-tied hair was seen twitching as it shuddered in horror. Suddenly, both of their mothers immediately counseled the two girls and apologized to Clara.
"That's right. What am I trying to say. Pity this beautiful nurse even thought a lost member of the Cullen family." said Tami. He and Tasya laughed freely without caring for Clara's face that looked upset. Fortunately the two boys were with his mother, if they could not cry keger diplototoin Clara who is famous fierce.
"Tami, you are asked to meet a patient who is being treated in the VIP room. Her name is Ms Rahma" said a nurse who suddenly appeared in front of them.
"What's the room called, Re?" ask Tami to Teresytha.
"You know, just ask Salwa" replied Teresytha cuek. The girl who was famous for her unfriendly attitude just passed away.
"Why the hell, so if we meet together, have a personal grudge what people. Just answer me for the trouble." - Dumal Clara. He disliked Teresytha's attitude, which he found very irritating. Since he first worked at this hospital, he had never once seen a smile on the girl's face.
"It's okay, Ra. It's about being easy, no need to use emotions." Tami walked over to the nurse station table which was right in front of them. After getting the name of the VIP room Teresytha was referring to, Tami hurriedly arranged her steps towards the elevator, leaving Tasya busy calming Clara who occasionally sounded annoyed.
"You're going to Rahma's mom's treatment room, right?" ask someone to Tami when she is in the elevator. Tami turned to the side looking for the source of the voice and was quite surprised to find the "sheep" girl standing next to her. The condition of the elevator is quite crowded with people making him unaware of Karina's existence.
"Yes." replied Tami. Tami's smile that looks awkward is answered by Karina with a smile that looks so sweet that it can make some ants that are hibernating crowded around the elevator.
"You're beautiful when you smile again."
Bah, what dream did I have last night to be praised like this? Same person unknown. Does it have a specific meaning? Our faces are almost exactly the same, only our height is different. Inner Tami.
"You're the nurse at this hospital, huh?"
"Yes" Tami replied briefly. "Bak himself?" tanya Tami tried to make small talk.
"I looked up to my mother who was treated here. By the way you've been working here a long time?"
"Thank God, it's been almost two years."
"Oh, hm."
Tami squeezed her hand restlessly. It feels awkward, like meeting a prospective in-law.
"Aren't you wondering why we're both almost exactly the same?"
Deg. Tami felt a strange rumble behind her chest upon hearing Karina's question. I don't know why he really didn't want to hear that question. Tami was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief as the elevator doors opened.
"I'm first, Ma'am." Tami briefly looked at Karina with a friendly smile on her lips before finally exiting the rectangular box-shaped room. Tami tried to take a quick step through several treatment rooms. Feeling that something was awkward, he tried to look back. It turns out her premonition is right, Karina is seen walking in Tami's footsteps.
"Well, why are people following me." muttered Tami sounding uneasy. His mind was filled with bad thoughts.
Because he was walking too fast, almost hit his head on the door because he did not realize he had reached in front of Rahma's mother's nursery.
"Pretend not to know if he follows me." he murmured again.
Tami exhaled for a moment so that the rhythm of her heartbeat returned to normal. Tami read the basmalah before stepping inside the sizable treatment room with a slight bow of her head. He was afraid to make mistakes without realizing it, although he remembered he had never met the patient named Rahma.
"Assalamu'alaikum's chat. Good day, Mom." Sapa Tami as he approached Rahma's mother who seemed to be concentrating on reading her little Al-Qu'an. The woman who was estimated to be half a century old raised her head, her pale beautiful face looks shocked to see Tami.
Both of Tami's eyes were rounded when he felt the touch of Rahma's hand which was still attached to the infusion hose on his face. Shortly afterwards, Tami felt her body being hugged tightly and heard a roaring cry from the woman's lips. Tami was of course shocked, especially when she found Karina also turned out to be in the room.
Once again the girl showed off her sweet smile but this time she also shed tears. I don't know what, Tami can't guess.
The next second as the woman opened her voice, the question that had plagued her mind for days ago came back to ask for an answer.
"Who was I really in my childhood?"
