Towards Civilization

A 4-year-old girl is currently sitting and watching the battle being waged by her brother. Where he sat, the leaves of – dried leaves also began to fall from the trees above him, because the monster that his brother fought bounced off one of the trees around him.

With the shaking of various trees that were hit by several monster bodies, finally the place seemed to experience a new season, namely autumn, where the dry leaves as if starting to fall from the top of the tree around the little boy was.

“Quick Brother, Yui is hungry!” shouted the girl to her brother who was still cool against a swarm of wild monsters.

The man, called his brother, only smiled after hearing his brother's screams, and slaughtered the monsters that came to him, but as much as possible he sped up the massacre, because he did not want his sister to continue waiting, especially he was hungry.

Indeed, it has been almost two weeks the brothers walked through this forbidden area, to go towards their destination, a village that is right outside the forbidden area of the Raven kingdom.

Why did Zen decide to go to that kingdom, although it would be closer if he wanted to go to the Illyan kingdom in the north, as well as the Vilan kingdom in the south of this area. This was because the Raven kingdom had a Great Dungeon.

Although Zen was quite satisfied to raise his level in this place, but he also wanted to meet civilization in this world, especially he did not want his sister Yui not to know anything about the world she lived in, because it's been locked up for hundreds of years.

And also, some of the monsters that were here were extremely powerful and they could appear anywhere, unlike the Great Dungeon where the strength of the monsters was determined by the floor, so it's dangerous enough to stay in this place too, to fight monsters with random power.

"The last one!” zen murmured then used his lightning skill and snatched the last monster he was fighting, to end the battle.

“Yay... Finally Brother finished!” yui shouted excitedly and immediately got up from where she was sitting and ran towards her brother.

Indeed, if they only walk as usual, they can get to their destination within 1 month. But they were now in a forbidden area, where this place was filled with monsters. So their journey had to rotate frequently to avoid some dangerous monsters.

“So Yui wants lunch with what?” zen said as he walked towards Yui, after harvesting all the useful materials from the various monsters he had already defeated.

“Spicy meat like yesterday Kak” replied Yui excitedly.

Zen just smiled at the words of his sister, then pulled out a large bear meat and prepared his grill. Indeed, on their way, Zen managed to get some wild herbs, to perfect his cooking while he adventured with his sister in this dangerous place.

And so Zen roasted the food he was cooking, and seasoned it with the wild herbs he found, then served it to his sister who was preparing to eat the food his sister had made.

“Perhaps about 3 weeks we until the destination” murmured Zen who is currently serving his food and began to eat it.

“Make sure Brother shaves his hair, beard, sideburns and mustache when he gets to the village is okay. Yui has not seen Sister's real face until now” said Yui who is currently re-inserting a large piece of meat into her mouth.

“Yes, after we get to the village, Brother make sure the first place we go is a barbershop” replied Zen, although he is not sure that such a place exists in this world.

And so three weeks later passed. On their way, Zen and Yui both enjoy the trip because they are always together, although their journey is often blocked by some monsters or wild animals who want to attack them.

Zen was pleased with Yui's childish nature, while Yui was very comfortable with her older brother, and made their trip seem to be uneasy, until Zen was currently slaughtering his last monster, before they exited this forbidden area.

“Level 26, not bad” murmured Zen after seeing his current level status.

“Is it still far, Kak?” yui asked who then ran towards her, after seeing all the monsters being defeated by her Brother.

“Hm... maybe about 5 more kilometers” replied Zen while showing the map on his smartphone to Yui.

Yui has become familiar with the artifacts from her brother, even he often borrowed them to play a snake game in it, after his sister taught him to use a smartphone a few weeks ago.

“So we can see the village after 5 kilometers it is not?” yui asked excitedly, as she was already impatient to enter a village.

“Yap” replied Zen briefly with a smile

Zen's words excited Yui and began to pull her brother's hand and quickly walk towards their destination.

“Is it still not coming?” ask one of the soldiers guarding the entrance of the village, who seemed to be waiting for something.

“Not Captain, but it looks like they will come soon” replied the soldier who was being asked by his captain.

But from a distance, they saw an adult man and a small child walking closer to the entrance of their village hand in hand. The two people seemed excited towards this place, because the little boy began to jump – jump when he looked at the entrance of the village which was being guarded by several guard soldiers who were there.

“Quick Brother, Yui wants to see a village” said Yui who is still pulling her brother's hand, to make him walk faster approaching the village they have seen.

“Please, that village won't run Yui.” Zen replied, trying to calm his sister's excitement.

After Yui forced her brother to walk faster, the two of them finally arrived at the entrance of this village, and were immediately approached by the soldiers guarding the entrance of this village.

“Welcome to Pina tuan village, if you can know what needs you visit this place?” a guard said to Zen, as they arrived at the entrance of the village.

“Ah... I with my sister intend to temporarily settle in this place, can we do it?” ask Zen kindly.

“Pardon us sir, but can you show your identity first?” reply to the guard.

Zen who got the question, had indeed anticipated it by telling a lie about the loss of his identity, because – goods were carried away by the horse he was riding, who ran away because he met a monster on their way.

“I'm sorry Sir, but because something happened this new – in our village, so we can't allow just anyone to enter it, including those of you who do not give your identity tuan” said the guard politely.

“But, I was right – lost my identity and did not have any evil mahsut entering this village, Pak keeper” said Zen who did not think the reason was not accepted by the guard.

“I'm sorry sir, but this is a rule in our village at this time” replied the guard.

“Can we not enter this village Kak?” yui asked who was starting to look sad, after hearing the conversation from the soldier guarding the entrance of the village he wanted to enter with his older brother just now.

Actually, the guard also felt sorry to see them, including the little boy who seemed to be starting to grieve. But because of the demands of his job and he had to carry out the orders he received, inevitably he had to be firm.

“You why little sister, why are you crying?” said a woman who arrived – just came closer to them and made Zen only pay attention to the woman, who is currently calming her sister who looks sad.

Behind the woman, four people also came to this place, where they looked like a knight, which is where one of them used Full Armor on his body and the other one used some sort of light combat clothing.

“I'm sorry sir, what are the needs of you and your lady to come to our village?” asked the guard who had previously spoken to Zen and did not realize there were some people who were going to this place.

“We are Adventurers from the Adventurer Guild who are assigned to investigate several kidnappings that occurred in this village” reply one of the men who used Full armor on his body.

“Can I see proof of your identity?” ask the soldier the same question, to all the foreigners who will enter the village he is guarding.

The four men began to show their identity, which consisted of two men and two women, and managed to prove that the four of them were indeed Adventurers.

“Then what about you, miss?” the guard said, after confirming the identities of the other four people and asking the woman who was calming Yui at the moment.

“Ah, I am not an adventurer, but an apprentice teacher assigned in this village”
