CHAPTRE 37

Aaric bowed lethargicly before his wife, who was lying weakly on the bed and yet unconscious, Snow even had to use a ventilator to petrify his breathing.

"Snow please wake up.." Aaric's tears came back. "I realize I'm not a good husband who can make you happy, be your protector.. I regret that Snow... Please wake up.." Aaric had never felt anything as sad and regretful as this.

Deep down he loved Snow so much, and was happy to get it, but on the other hand when faced with his mother he could not dwell at all, he did not want to fight anything else to hurt the heart of the woman who had given birth and cared for him, he wanted to spend the rest of his age to devote to his mother.

But he forgets that his wife is his responsibility, which needs to be happy without neglecting his role as a child towards his mother. "Wake up baby, teach me to be a good husband and head of the household for you, for our little family.."

In the midst of his grief, he gets a message from his secretary. Mr. Aaric, on social media, posted a video of Mrs.Astrid scolding her father's wife, and now the video is very viral and has been under the spotlight from many parties. Do you have time to discuss this?

Aaric's red face goes out reading the message, apparently Calla does not mess with his words. "Where does the dog*n know Snow is being treated? Is he spying on me again. Goddamnit." Aaric turned to his wife. "Darling, I stayed for a while. There's work I need to get done, but I beg you to wake up so we can work this out together." he hopes Snow can quickly wake up and help him solve the problem. Aaric believes Snow clarified that the video is not true and that the problem will be solved.

Aaric kissed Snow on the forehead, then he left the ICU room. He could not imagine how his mother would feel if he got to know this news, of course his mother would be shocked and hurt to get a lot of scorn. "I have to make a quick down of that video, Snow has to get well."

Aaric opens the ICU door, again surprised by the existence of Dusk, the manager Snow, Snow's mother, and Sky. The three of them looked at Aaric with angry gazes, especially Rini's mother Snow, not only angry but implied disappointment and regret.

Aaric walked over to his mother-in-law, as he was about to greet and kiss Rini's hand, Rini brushed him off. He walks into the ICU room to see his daughter's condition without caring about Aaric.

A moment after Rini entered, Aaric looked at Dusk and Sky who was still staring at him sharply, then he passed leaving the two of them. But Sky quickly chased after and detained his brother-in-law. "Aaric wait!!"

Arriving in front of Aaric, Sky reached into his bag and extended a check to Aaric. "I gave it back, I never even wore it" said Sky, though his face implied great anger, but he tried to speak calmly. "I know my brother better than anyone, from the very beginning he went to the hospital because of the shock, I already had a bad feeling. Then Mas gave me a check and said he was going on vacation in Japan with my brother, I really don't believe it. I also know the morning where my mother and I visited the mas house to meet mba Snow, mas lied. I didn't really go straight back to Bandung, I drove mom to the mini market to shop, then I left mom for a while and went back to your residence. I met one of your assistants who was going to the market and asked where my brother was, he said my brother was at home, not just that, I also saw the bag my mother gave me lying in the trash, I deliberately did not take it back because my brother would see it."

Sky looked at Aaric's face with a look of disdain while smiling sinisterly. "It turns out money can't buy intelligence" Sky scoffed.

Aaric immediately showed the expression of his dislike with the insults Sky made. "What do you mean?" ask her sharply.

"You don't really read the visa in your hand" Sky threw Aaric's hand. "I suggest you go back to the play group to get calistung lessons," he sneered, then he left Aaric covered with anger that burned his chest.

He's never had a lifetime of humiliation from a kid as small as Sky. "The rancid boy doesn't know in profit, just wait for my vengeance!!" he muttered, he reached into the cellphone in his pocket to contact his secretary and asked him to check the documents he had stored in his study.

A few minutes later, the secretary finally answered Aaric's curiosity. The results of the visa were not really genuine owned by Snow, the hospital actually maintained its code of conduct to not give the results of the visa other than to the police, after the patient made his report. "Fuck, so all this time I've been tricked?"

Aaric's face was deathly pale, cold sweat started pouring out of his body. The shadow of the cold walls of the prison began to haunt him. Aaric shook his head. "I'm sure Snow won't have the heart to report her husband" Aaric murmured. "I'm sure Snow will forgive me and he'll come back to me again, we'll be like before" Aaric continued to reassure himself.

Amidst his nervousness about the shadow of the prison walls, Aaric is made aware of the voice of a call from his secretary who is still across the phone. "Sir Aaric." said the secretary.

"Ah, what's wrong?"

Again and again Aaric was surprised by the news of the cancellation of the cooperation contract unilaterally and simultaneously from several clients who used his services to design their buildings, the video that circulated in the news over the dose that Snow experienced after downing a sedative apparently gave a remarkable effect in Aaric's career. The news has been circulated and has received confirmation from Dusk as the manager and doctor who handles Snow.

Now Aaric is no longer in the shadow of the cold wall of iron bars but the destruction of his career. "No, this is unlikely to happen." the career he built from 0 is now on the verge of collapse in his own hands.
