Mario sat in the car with a straight forward view. His hand gripped firmly at the steering wheel of the car. The smell of alcohol came out of his mouth. It was clear that Mario's eyes were red because he was half drunk and angry. From childhood he hated Max because it managed to grab the attention of his parents. Max who incidentally adopted children get the same affection and facilities as him.
Mario cursed in his heart. Why Max was in their family.
"She should have just died that time!" Mario monologues while igniting a cigarette.
Mario's hatred makes him ambitious to make Max continue to suffer. He remembers when he was thirteen. Deliberately hiding Max's football boots, making Max fail to participate in the game that day. Or the next time he breaks Max's bike, it's no longer worth wearing and there's a lot more he does just to make Max sad and make them hate each other.
But the opposite happens, Max always forgives and still considers Mario his brother. For the orphaned Max, getting a family is a blessing. So, he doesn't really care about the actions of Mario who is trying to make him not feel at home living together. If he leaves, Max doesn't know where to go and what a ten-year-old boy can do. That's why Max swallowed the bitter taste for the continuation of his life.
He opened the window of the car throwing cigarette butts out. His eyes caught two people walking towards the car. Those two guys are none other than Max and Ray. They just closed the cafe and intend to go home.
The car moves out of the parking area towards Max and Alura's new home. Yes, two days ago they chose to live apart from Alura's parents. At first, Mama and Papa Alura objected. They feel the house is big enough to live in both. But Max tried to explain that he and Alura wanted to be independent. The distance from their home is not too far. Only ten minutes walk.
Mario follows Max's car from behind. But when arriving in a quiet place Mario spur his car trying to pick Max's car.
The light of what he did made Max and Ray shocked. Ray who drives tries to focus and avoid as much as possible. But the desperate Mario did not let the car Max boarded just get away with it. This time he had to kill her!
How lucky Max is, it's been a cripple still being able to marry his beautiful cousin. Now he also enjoys the legacy of Om George which is not small in number. He should be the one in that position. For a long time, he liked Om George's children. Although they are not too familiar, it does not mean Mario ignored Alura. He remembers very well when he first saw ten-year-old girls with blue eyes and blond hair coming to their house in London. Mario immediately liked it. Didn't expect him to have such a beautiful cousin. Growing up Mario could only hold back his feelings. He was hesitant to say. Mama Mery doesn't like Alura much anymore. Until Mario hears Max's decision to marry Alura for Om George's inheritance. It feels like being struck by lightning in a hole. Mario is angry with his mother's decision.
Mario's car is still trying to pick up Max's car. Finally, when the road was empty, he cut and stopped right in front of Max's car.
Ray who saw that suddenly stepped on the brakes making them almost bounce through the windshield. Lucky seatbelt held him.
Ray hurriedly checked his master's situation. Don't want Max to get hurt. Because it's his responsibility to keep Max safe. He's paid for it.
"Sir, are you okay? Is anyone hurt?" Questions came out of Ray's mouth.
"I'm fine" Max replied quickly.
"Thank God, sir." Ray rubbed his face that was flooded with sweat. This incident spurred his adrenaline. Who the driver is not sane in front of it, he thought.
"Sir, do you know the car in front?" ray asked his curiosity by directly asking Max.
There's no answer. Max's eyes looked fixedly at the figure that had just come out of the car. The large tall man half staggered walking closer to their car. Max clenched both of his handbooks tightly. This guy, he's always been looking for trouble with her. When will Mario turn out well. This relationship is like a brother in general. Not looking at him continuously as an enemy that must be annihilated.
"Open!" Mario tapped hard on the window glass beside Max.
"Sir, that's your brother." Ray pointed at Mario outside.
"Open fast!" Mario repeated his request.
"Ray, help me get down." Max's voice was flat as usual. His expression was also very calm.
"But sir, he doesn't seem to have any good intentions" Ray said worriedly.
"It's okay, Ray. He needs to talk to me." Max looked back at Ray. While being stared at there is no other choice but to obey what the employer wants.
Ray took out Max's wheelchair and helped him sit there.
Ray pushes Max's wheelchair closer to Mario who is standing on the side of the road.
"What's wrong?" ask Max.
"You, divorce Alura right now!" Mario snapped and stared hard at Max.
Max bergeming. What does this have to do with Alura?
"Why?"
"Ha ha ha, you useless handicap, cih!" mario's hiss pulled the front of Max's sweater, forcing Max to look up. Netra they meet. Max could see the hatred from those eyes.
"Let go of your hands!" Ray who was standing behind Max advanced. Staring at Mario does not like.
"Let it go" said Max, holding Ray, who wanted to throw his fist at Mario's handsome face.
"Then! You don't change it like that. Living years hitchhiking with my family, now you're enjoying all the luxuries that shouldn't be yours!" mario shouted those words right in front of Max's face. Max closed his eyes for a moment. He was already immune to all of Mario's harsh words and insults.
"What do you want? asked Max immediately did not want to beat around the bush.
"Deliver Alura, and go as far away from her life and our lives as possible!" Mario took a step back to look at Max's flat face. Mario is sometimes confused. Max never returned it. Is he not hurt? Or, he just held it.
"I can't!" lirih Max is full of emphasis.
"You...!"
Bugh
A fist lodged against Max's lips made him groan for a moment. Fresh blood is flowing. Max wiped it with his hand.
"You're outrageous. Stop that!" ray shouted at Mario until he fell to the ground. He stands on Mario ready to hit if Max doesn't hold him. In a fit of annoyance Ray finally stood away.
"Mario, stop this! If it's about treasure, take how much you want. I just don't want to, my brother continues to be filled with resentment and hatred. It'll ruin your soul" Max said, glancing at Mario. Then she calls Ray to help him get back in the car. While Mario tried to stand by holding his stomach that was hit by Ray's kick. Max's car moves leaving him alone.
Alura closed the Quran she had just read. He saw it was 7pm but Max didn't come home yet. It's not unusual for her husband to come home late like this. Alura put the Qur'an in her hand into the closet. It's better now that he's on the phone to make sure.
Alura grabs her net on the nightstand wiping her screen looking for Max's contact. Not found.
Just now Alura finished making her face, the sound of a car was heard. That must be Max, guess. He immediately put on a robe with a veil before coming out.
Sure enough, he had just opened the door of the room, Max and Ray appeared from the front door. Alura smiled her worry gone already.
"Assalam'alaikum, Max," said Alura walking over. But how surprised he was to see in the corner of Max's lips there was a bruised blue.
"Max, what's going on?" Alura's outstretched hand wanted to touch Max's lips.
"Don't touch!" tepis Max on Alura's hand.
Alura pulled back her hand. He forgot what Max was.
"Sir, excuse me first" said Ray walking forward.
"alright. Pick up tomorrow at 8 o'clock."
"Well, sir," Ray replied as he slightly bent his body towards Alura. Then he turned towards the exit.
After Ray Max pushed his wheelchair to the couch. Alura followed from behind.
"Max, you're hurt. I'm treating ya," Alura bargained.
"No need!"
Alura sighed looking at the unchanging attitude. It was still cold to him.
"Yes, I'll prepare dinner first." Alura gets off the couch.
"I've eaten" Max explained, stopping his steps. He cooked for both of them. Alura ignores Max as she walks back to the kitchen.
Not long Max tailed. He saw Alura's originally cheerful face now turning moody. Facing food in silence.
"I want to eat."
Alura raised her face. Wasn't it obvious she heard Max say he had eaten. "You said you had eaten" said Alura.
"Eating, doesn't mean I don't want to eat." Max moved closer to the table.
"Ah, yes. Sorry," said Alura standing up to pick up another plate.
After dinner they went into the room. Max moved his wheelchair towards the bed. Removing the sweater leaves a white shirt that prints his athletic body.
"Max, you want to take a shower? Let me help you," laughed Alura standing closer to the wheelchair.
Max just nodded letting Alura push her wheelchair into the bathroom. After that Alura came out. Take a change of clothes and put it on the bed.
Alura sat in front of the dressing table. Clean your face and comb your hair slowly. As he turned his eyes caught Max's uncapped upper body. His cheeks instantly frowned then as fast as lightning Alura turned around and closed her eyes.
"Shirt change on the mattress," he explained with eyes still closed.
Max glanced at Alura who was turning her back, "Yes, thank you."
"Have you?" ask Alura
"What?!" Max asked back, seeing Alura still on her back.
"Emm, i-it, change her clothes," said Alura suddenly nervously.
"It."
Huft. Finally Alura can open her eyes and see Max who looks fresher with wet hair and a shirt that fits on her body.
"Max," call Alura over to Max. "May I have your phone number?"
Max didn't answer just to give his salary.
"Ah, thank you," said Alura immediately copy to her phone contact.
"It." Alura handed back Max's phone, "you want to rest, let me help you." as usual. Alura helps Max get on the bed. Having previously arranged a slightly higher pillow for Max to lean on.
"Max, Papa was on the phone. Regarding Ustaz who will guide you to study Islam, Papa recommended his friend. If you're ready, tomorrow I'll accompany you to meet the Ustaznya."
"As far as you go" Max replied without looking at Alura.
"All right then." Alura lay on Max's side. Grabbing the bolster hugging him tightly. He glanced at Max at a glance reading a book. Alura smiled admiring her husband's handsome face. Max rarely smiles. Try if he often pulls his lips up maybe the gloomy aura of that handsome face will disappear.
Max turned. They look at each other now. Alura closed her eyes of embarrassment from being caught quietly paying attention. He wanted to flip over but felt his wrist being held by Max.
Alura surprised. They rarely make physical contact like this. His chest was pounding so hopefully Max didn't hear his heartbeat.
"Sleep facing here" Max ordered, then released his hand grip on Alura's hand.
"Well, Max," said Alura, closing her eyes trying hard to get to sleep.
