The Secret of Office Girl

The Secret of Office Girl
68. Amanda's Condition

Kirana and Raka are at the boutique for wedding dress fittings.

Their wedding feast had been prepared by Balin's confidants. Kirana and Raka just got it all right. It's just that for the matter of wedding clothes, Kirana wants to choose her own.

There were already three dresses that Kirana tried. However, nothing matched the girl.

"Raka, what do you think?"

Kirana asked while showing off the wedding dress she was wearing. A dress with a large ribbon adorns the front.

"Good," answered Raka briefly.

Kirana frowned, because Raka seemed uninspired every time she was asked for an opinion.

Raka who was sitting on the sofa, several times was found daydreaming and did not listen to Kirana speak.

Then Kirana turned her body facing a large mirror. He observed his own shadow then shook his head.

"It doesn't seem to suit me very well."

Kirana went back into the dressing room. Aided by Alea and several other boutique clerks, Kirana wears another wedding dress.

After a while, Kirana stepped out of the dressing room. Now she wears a white dress modelled off shoulder exposing her bare shoulders, with a wide skirt sweeping the floor.

Kirana put on a smile in front of Raka, and asked for an opinion from her future husband.

"If this one?"

"Good, sweetie."

Again Raka simply replied in a flat tone, making Kirana sigh.

She judged herself for her appearance, then decided to choose the dress. After changing clothes, she sat beside Raka intending to ask for an explanation of her different attitude.

Kirana clasped Raka's hand, which made the man turn his head.

"Is there a problem?"

Raka smiled, although it was obvious that the smile was forced.

"Little."

"Oh yeah, by the way, why don't you invite Mommy to come with the suit fittings?"

"Mommy won't be at our wedding" said Raka, making Kirana's face shrivel in confusion.

"Why? Is Mommy still not accepting me?"

Raka shakes.

"No. That's not the problem."

"Then?"

"Mommy is depressed again. Even worse than before."

Kirana's hand grip is getting stronger, after knowing the cause of Raka's pensive.

"We're going to your house now. I want to see Mommy."

"Mommy wasn't at home" Raka said.

"Where is Mommy now?"

***

Surprised and concerned. That was how Kirana felt when Raka took her to a mental hospital.

Once they were in the hospital courtyard, Kirana immediately understood what had happened to Amanda. Despite being rude, Kirana still felt sorry for the middle-aged woman who would soon become her mother-in-law.

Raka led Kirana to walk in the hospital hallway. Footsteps lead them to the park. There they see Amanda sitting on a bench accompanied by a female nurse.

"Mom, man,"

Amanda looked up, her lips curled up a smile while looking at Raka and Kirana.

"Raka, Kirana, are you here?"

"We came to see Mommy" replied Raka.

Then Raka glanced at Kirana who was slowly approaching and sat down beside Amanda.

The pain was clearly visible in Kirana's eyes. Didn't expect Amanda's fate to end like this.

"Kirana, look! Mommy bought a pearl necklace. This is expensive," Amanda said, revealing an imitation pearl necklace.

Kirana was silent about what Amanda said. Since then he just looked at Amanda's face with teary eyes.

"The badder gang must have regretted taking Mommy out."

Then, Amanda turned her seat to the nurse who was accompanying her.

"Sus, is there a call from Ray?"

"Nothing, Mom."

Amanda looked disappointed, throwing rough breaths while washing her lips. While Kirana threw a glance at Raka who also showed a sad face.

"Ray was on vacation in Africa. Maybe there is a hard signal so do not call Mommy," muttered Amanda looking at the empty clouds that are pouring in the sky.

"Kirana, when Ray comes home, we go for a walk? Where are you going? Dubai, Paris, New York, or…"

Amanda thought as she tapped her finger against her forehead. Before long he snapped a finger while jerking straight up his back.

"Or we're the Himalayan mountains. We're climbing a mountain there."

Amanda laughed crisply, not caring if Raka and Kirana did not speak. He patted Kirana on the shoulder.

"Just calm. Ray knows a lot about how to survive in the wild."

Amanda sighed, stopped laughing, and went back to daydreaming.

"Ray must be home. He promised to buy Mommy diamond earrings."

Time passes with Amanda's unrelenting chatter about Ray. Until Amanda suddenly stood up, her eyes bulged and hands clenched.

Amanda's change of attitude invites question marks in the minds of Kirana and Raka. They follow Amanda's gaze on a girl in a hairstyle similar to Clara's.

It seems that the girl was a visitor who was also visiting someone. He walks across the park highlighted by Amanda's sharp gaze.

Kirana understood immediately. He immediately restrained Amanda's arm that wanted to approach the girl.

"That's Clara, right?" ask Amanda to raise her index finger.

"No, Mom. It's not Clara" Kirana said, convincing Amanda.

"But, Mommy's sure it's Clara. What'd he want to come here for? He's already made Ray go, Mommy has to teach him a lesson," Amanda roared uncontrollably.

He shouted calling Clara's name along with the swearing.

The nurse on guard couldn't calm Amanda down. Even Amanda went crazy about hitting the nurse. Get a doctor to intervene and inject a sedative.

After that, Amanda was taken to her room.

Kirana and Raka are left in the hospital garden. Kirana turned her body to look at Raka. Just by looking at the bead of eyes, Kirana already knew how grievous the wound in Raka's heart was.

Kirana walked over, wrapped her arms around Raka's waist which was reciprocated with one arm of Raka hugging Kirana's shoulder.

"Raka, you're not alone. You still have me, and soon you'll have a new family too."

Raka gave a smile, though the look in her eyes showed pain. He feels like the luckiest man to have Kirana.
