Chapter 8

Members of the sultan's family have now gathered in the dining room for breakfast together.

"Ma, Pa" Apsara began her talk.

"What are you talking about, Sa?"ask Isyan.

"Bara and I have decided that we will go into the company. Bara to PT. Surya while I go to Wijaya Group" Apsara said.

"When are you going to the company to be introduced as an heir?"ask Arya.

"Pa, we go to the company not to be your successors" Bara cut.

"Keep as what?"ask Rara.

"Employees!"answer Bara and Apsara simultaneously.

The two pair of parents looked at each other with confused looks.

"Why? You are tired of studying S3 with a summa cum laude instead become employees. It's your own company" insisted Dion.

"We just want to see who has high loyalty to the company or who hides scissors in folds" Bara said with a cold gaze.

Isyan smiled after hearing Bara's words, and he already understood what was on his two children's minds. Isyan agreed with both of them. After breakfast is finished, one by one family members leave the house to do the routine as usual.

Dafa had just come out of the room fresh and his hair was half wet. Her appearance looks so charming and dashing. He rushed down the stairs and he saw his grandfather sitting in the living room.

"For Yang!"dafa kissed his grandfather's cheek.

"Morning. Where are you going?"herdian.

"You meet Bara same Apsara" Dafa replied.

Herdian was silent for a moment and tried to remember who the two people his grandson would meet were.

"The time I forgot, it was the daughter of the Praditya and Vijaya families" said Dafa answering a question that was on his grandfather's mind.

"Oh... who used to make a scene when graduating from High School, right?"herdian asked starting to recall the events of a dozen years ago.

Dafa smiles as his grandfather recalls the most historic event at Atma Jaya High School, when everyone realized that there were two heirs of the Praditya and Wijaya families attending the foundation.

Apsara always chases the parallel rankings with Bara for the first and second, while Dafa is third. No one knows if Bara and Apsara were the sons of the sultan. Only Dafa knows their identity.

Especially Apsara who always looks with a rather oversized uniform, high socks, and wears aviator type glasses with a rather large lens size, so Apsara is always referred to as a cupu.

Apsara was always colonized by a school gang led by a girl, the Rose, who was eyeing Dafa and Bara.

He walked out of the classroom into the field and stood there in the hot sun. Until the break hour arrived, many students who passed by were wondering why Apsara could stand in the middle of the field? Then rumors spread that Apsara was caught cheating during a repeat, so she was punished.

"Bar, is that Apsa?"said Dafa patting Bara on the shoulder and pointing towards the field.

While Apsara's body was already sweating a lot, her head was heavy, her breathing was tight, and her gaze was twitching.

"Apsa wake!"bara said patting Apsara's cheek that had been lying down.

"Bar, take it to the UKS now" Dafa orders.

The two of them also carried Apsara together towards the UKS. The doctor came to check on Apsara.

"The actor had a history of low blood, he was not strong if too long under the heat of the sun especially he was severely dehydrated" explained the Doctor.

"Then how's he doing, Doc?"ask Bara to worry.

"He's improved, if he's conscious give him a drink. Then let him rest" the doctor continued and left the UKS.

A few days after the incident, Dafa overhears a conversation between Rose and her gang.

"Geez so kasian Si Cupu punished the same teacher, surely he can score zero for being caught cheating." said gang member 1.

"Rasain, who told him to support Bara and Dafa. He thinks he's who dare to get hits, I should be the one to get close to them" said Rose proudly.

"But, strange is not the time of Apsara cheating anyway? He's smart not kelulungan"sela gang member 2.

"Geez you guys, I'm the one who put the cheat paper under Si Cupu's desk"tipped the Rose in a flirtatious tone and followed by the laughter of his gang members.

Dafa was surprised to hear the words of the Rose and fortunately he had already recorded their conversation and he immediately reported it to Bara and Apsara.

"This can't be allowed, they have to get revenge" Bara said.

"Why? They have tarnished your good name" said Dafa.

"Oh come on guys, if you want to fight a cunning enemy then you must be more cunning than him" Apsara insisted with a cold gaze.

Apsara is helping a teacher to bring the matter of remidi into the classroom. And deliberately Rose and her gang hit Apsara to make a paper about falling to the floor.

Apsara immediately picked up the papers and suddenly Rose stepped on Apsara's hand and pressed her until Apsara's white hand flushed red.

"This is the reward because you dared to approach Bara and Dafa. Just so you know yes, you don't deserve them" the Rose added pressure to her legs and she left Apsara.

"Sa, your hand is a gini wound, right?"tanya Dafa held onto Apsara's already scuffed hand. He directly sat Apsara in the front of the classroom and treated Apsara's wounds with medicine that he had been able to do.

Bara saw what was happening before his eyes, Dafa's attention was not that of a friend to his best friend. There was a radiance of affection in the eyes of Dafa for Apsara.

"Have you recorded it?"tanya Apsara looked at Bara.

Bara gave a nod and it made Apsara smile triumphantly.

Finally, the graduation day arrived. Graduation is held in one of the star hotels, because most students who attend this High School are children of the rich.

The headmaster announces the name of the student who entered into the three highest test scores. And they are Bara, Dafa, and Roses. Everyone was shocked when the name Rose was mentioned because usually Apsara was perched in that ranks.

"Excuse me Dear Headmaster"sela Apsara as she stood walking towards the stage towards the headmaster.

Everyone was enchanted by the beautiful appearance of Apsara using the crystal-studded kebaya in red that made her look like a princess. Everyone did not expect that the Cupu could be that beautiful.

"I think there's something that everyone here should know" Apsara said with a mysterious look.

"What do you mean Apsara?"ask the Headmaster.

Apsara beckoned the LCD technician to play the sound recording when Roses claimed to have slandered Apsara cheating, then the vidio where Roses stepped on her feet, the report said, and the vidio when Rose's parents met the Headmaster with the intention of asking that his son's value be exchanged for Apsara's value and Rose's parents gave him some money.

Everyone seems surprised by what they are watching today, including Herdian Atma Jaya as the head of the foundation. He did not expect the headmaster who he had believed had been committing acts of corruption.

Everyone looked towards the source of the sound and saw Arya Praditya walking with Isyana Wijaya and behind him was Dion Wijaya with Rara Praditya. Everyone was stunned by the aura of the sultan's family.

"Your daughter?"ask the Headmaster.

"Yes, Apsara Arsya Praditya is our daughter" Isyan replied.

"And Bara Ranggana Vijaya is our son" Dion continued.

"At this school there are two heirs from the Praditya and Wijaya families who attend here. And now you've dared to hurt their child?"sela Herdian who had stood up from the chair and walked over to Apsara who was on stage.

"Son, thank you for revealing the bullies and corruption committed by the principal" Herdian said, caressing Apsara's head.

"And for you Roses and your family, you will not be able to live quietly after you harm my daughter" Isyan said with a cold gaze.

"Take this principal to jail!"shouted Herdian, who was cheered by the security who had herded the headmaster.

After the incident Apsara and Bara decided to study in America, and Dafa followed in their footsteps after both parents died in an accident. On the night before the three of them left for America, Dafa invited Apsara to go to the city park.

"Daf, why did you take me to the park? Why not bring Bara too?"apsara asked when Dafa had already taken her hand.

Dafa allowed Apsara to sit on a bench in the garden and she gave Apsara a diary on which a rose was attached. Apsara who is insensitive with love stinks is only silent with a flat expression.

"What's this for?"ask Apsara.

"It opens my diary. I write down everything I feel. I started writing that since I was in 4th grade" Dafa replied.

"Then?" Apsara had not understood the intention of Dafa giving her diary book to her.

"Read on!"pinta Dafa's.

Apsara frowned hesitatingly to open the book, and with a nod from Dafa, she finally opened the diary. Each sheet of Apsara reads carefully. There are stories of happy, sad, angry, disappointed, and lost that Dafa felt when his parents died.

And Apsara stopped the movement of her hand to open the next sheet when her name was written on that page. A love poem and it was aimed at her. Apsara looked at Dafa who had now given her a smile.

"I've liked you, since Junior High where I didn't know you and Bara were brothers."

Apsara gawked and was shocked the first time in her life, there was a man who blatantly waved a war flag to knock out the South Pole.

"A.I know.this sounds weird. But I've liked you for a long time before I knew you were the son of Arya Praditya. I love your simple, independent, smart personality."

Apsara smiled at Dafa, she could not blame this man for her feelings because he was a normal man. With all maturity finally Apsara spoke.

"Dafa, thank you for liking me, being friendly with me, and always giving me attention. But I don't want to give you false hope. I just think of you as a friend who has always been there for me, nothing more. I know it hurts your feelings, but I can't lie and lie to you. Daf, you are a good person, and I want to always be your friend."

Apsara's words were like a sword that struck the heart of Dafa so deeply. His heart ached and felt pain, but he could not force his feelings either. He did not want to lose Apsara because being his best friend was enough.

"I'm not asking you to return my feelings, because I can only say that I'm relieved. I hope our friendship isn't ruined because of this."

Apsara nodded in agreement to Dafa's words.

Apsara sighed and then showed her the stretch of her hand on a small scale. Dafa embraced Apsara. Perhaps this was the last time he embraced Apsara lovingly.

And unbeknownst to them, Rose saw when Dafa expressed his feelings for Apsara. The rose was envious of the life of such a perfect Apsara. A beautiful face, a wealthy family, and a handsome man who loves him. Meanwhile, he must now live in destitution because his family's company has been destroyed by Arya and Isyan.
