The Other Side's

The Other Side's
Introductions

Wet and cold winter afternoon, today the cafe is quiet. It seems that people prefer to stay indoors, sit in front of the fireplace, joke with family. The thing I always dreamed of, I don't know when the last time I enjoyed my mother's cup of hot chocolate.

A luxurious car stopped, a handsome man came down and stepped inside the cafe. She smiled broadly at me showing off her rows of teeth, ah that smile could always warm my heart.

"Hello baby" she said

"It's really cold outside, it's nice to be in this warm room." she chatted cheerfully, stepping towards her favorite seat located in the corner of the room, by the window.

I walked over, putting down his favorite cup of Americano.

"ah! This is exactly what I need!" he sipped his drink deliciously, then took something out of his pocket, putting two pieces of invitation cards on the table.

"Law one of your two dear friends, it's our happy day." I looked at the blue paper, my name and his name was engraved with silver ink in front of him.

Peter Grey and Delilah Spark, the invitation is simple but elegant. Peter could always make everything perfect, I just smiled and nodded in response to his words.

"You're busy today?" much

"Not really, there are only two major operations. They don't really need me there, what's up? You need anything?"

I bit my lips slowly, hesitating. Even though we have been dating for a year but it still feels uncomfortable to ask her for something.

Peter is an anaesthetist, working at the family-run Lovelock Surgery Hospital, and he is also the sole heir of the Forever Young Foundation. With her earnings she can fulfill all my requests but I don't want this relationship to be like I'm taking advantage of the situation.

"What's up, baby? Why silence?" Peter held my hand

"I ...,"

"Yes?"

"I'm not paid, and I don't have the dress I deserve to wear to our party." I gave her an explanation, relieved that I finally said the sentence I had just held

"God! Lailaa .. You're making me anxious. I thought you were gonna call off our engagement!" Peter laughed out loud and made me feel ashamed. He stood up and pulled my hand.

"Come on! Roy, I'll borrow your staff for a minute!" he shouted at the cafe owner who was also his friend, he took me into the car.

"Sarche Boutique!" his orders are with Mr. Martin, the driver.

He took me to one of the exclusive boutiques in Lovelock, only the upper-class shop here. Peter approached one of the boutique waiters

"Dress her!" his orders while pointing towards me.

The servants swiftly serve me. They took me to a room, carrying some dresses and boxes of jewelry.

Peter's head appeared behind the door, signaling me to get closer

"Honey, the hospital called ...,"

"Well go,"

"You okay?"

"Of course,"

"All right! I'll pick you up, okay." Peter kissed my forehead and then passed.

It's late at night when we're done, the dress will be sent tomorrow to my house. Peter didn't come back, I walked to the nearest bus stop.

I don't know why I'd rather take a bus than a taxi, sit around a few minutes waiting for my phone to shake, Peter.

"You done yet?" much

"Yes, just now. You you?"

"Yes ... we're just finished, they'll deliver the dress tomorrow."

"Where are you now?"

"Jeez Lailaa .. how many times have I told you not to take the bus! Very vulnerable especially this hour, a lot of criminals. Not to mention the slippery road ...."

I didn't hear Peter's next words anymore, because a louder voice distracted me. A car was speeding, hitting a street light pole.

The driver seemed to lose control due to slippery road conditions, the car seemed to spin a few moments later drove towards the bus stop.

"Hello! Delilah! You there? What the hell's going on? Laila!"

Ambulance arrived, some medics lifted my body up onto the car. Peter seemed to run to greet me at the door of the ICU, some people prevented Peter from approaching.

"No! Don't Delilahku!" exclaims

"Pease yourself, Pet, we'll handle it" a doctor said

"Let me in Charlie!"

"You know it can't be Peter!" charlie's doctor rushed into the operating room, a nurse closed the door.

Peter sat pensively in his study, looking for a moment at the small board at the door. Engraved by Dr. Peter Grey there, he sat quietly in the darkness.

Ah how sad she was, I walked up to her. Doctor Charlie enters the room, turns on the lights. Peter raised his face, opened his eyes, familiarizing him with the bright light.

Doctor Charlie said nothing, only shaking his head. Waitaminute! What does that headband mean? Peter's! Explain to me, what happened? Peter stood up, pouring the drink into his glass. Spend it with one gulp and then slam the glass to the floor.

"Damn it! One wasted year!" it means, his phone rings, his mother calls.

"He died." That's all Peter said and hung up.

Died off? Who died? Did i? But I'm right here. Peter I'm here! Lookatme! You didn't hear me? I walked in front of Peter, screaming his name, but he didn't hear me at all.

Peter walked slowly into a room, I still called out to him as Peter stopped walking, standing beside a body bag.

Oh, my God it's me! My body lay stiff with a condition that I myself was unable to see. My mouth felt shaky, not strong to support my body.

If the body was me, what am I? A ghost? It's just a joke, the ghost doesn't exist. Peter answer me! I screamed with all my might but Peter still didn't hear me

"Just free, he can no longer hear you!" a tall man laughed while laughing.

"Sorry ... Whoareyou? Whatchu mean?" much

"I'm waiting for this morgue, you're a ghost now. The doctor can no longer see or hear you, your nature is different."

"Then what are you? How can you see and hear me?"

"Because I'm just like you,"

"You mean ... Are you a ghost?" the man nodded making me take a few steps back, this is the first time I've seen a ghost.

"If you're a ghost why don't you be creepy,"

"It depends on how you die,"

"So me?" I went to the mirror hanging on the wall, standing in front of him but I couldn't see anything, the man laughed at me.

"Of course you can't reflect, you're a ghost!"

"Okey ... okay! If it's true that you and I are ghosts, is it just the two of us?" I whispered, afraid that another ghost would hear me.

"Of course not! This is the hospital, miss, we're everywhere!"

"Stop calling us! I'm not a ghost!"

"Ah whatever! You want to believe it or not!" the fat man then walked away from me, casually breaking through the door.

I was still standing stiffly beside my body, once again looking at it then stepping quickly away from the room.
