*Flashback on.
That afternoon at a private hospital in the urban center, Ara was still in the ICU room unconscious after giving birth by cesarean section two days ago. As usual, the woman who had been titled as a grandmother came to see him while holding her grandson, even though she could only see from outside the window of the room.
Narsih deliberately came while carrying a baby boy who still has not been named so that his adopted child could immediately wake up. Whether this will work or not, certainly Narsih will do any way so that the child can be aware.
"Sister, how is my child's condition developing?"
The woman directly questioned the nurse who happened to come out of Ara's room in the care. In view of the nurse's facial expression it seemed that Ara was not in a fatal condition.
"So far it's shown good progress, ma'am. You can ask the doctor directly." He said with a friendly smile.
"We just pray, Mom, that your daughter will wake up soon. We pray for your mama, Dek." The sister spoke again while touching the tiny cheeks of the baby in Narsih's sling.
Either because of what the baby immediately cried, maybe because of thirst or just disturbed sleep. The baby was crying even louder.
"Cup.... Son...."
Narsih tried to calm the baby down, but the baby was still crying.
"What is this God..."
Narsih's face instantly turned frantic. Various negative thoughts began to grow in his mind. She was very afraid that the baby's crying would be a bad sign with Ara's condition.
"Yes Allah... Son, why are you crying like this?"
Narsih and the nurse tried to give formula to the baby, but it was not enough to make her cry subside.
"Save my son, God. Protect him." Lirih. While from the look of his own eyes have begun to glaze over.
A young man happened to pass near Narsih who looked troubled and agitated to calm her baby. Either out of pity or how, the young man approached Narsih.
Her hand stretched out to touch the baby's soft cheek. Through the touch of his hand, the baby's cry suddenly subsided slowly.
"Smart child" said the young man after finding the baby had stopped crying.
Narsih was only able to smile with relief to find his grandson who had fallen asleep due to the touch of the young man.
"Thank you, son, for helping me" he said later.
The young man only concluded his small smile. "I'm sorry, ma'am," she said later.
The young man went to an administrative room in the hospital. His steps were not too excited, while in his hand brought some files that he might take care of in the admistration room.
Narsih began to feel relieved again, because he saw the grandson in his trunk was still sleeping soundly.
*Sign flashback off.
"ASTAGHIRULLLAH....."
Narsih rubbed his face. Because he only remembered the incident four years ago, when his grandson was crying hysterically and could be silent because of the touch of the foreign youth.
"It turns out he was indeed Ziyyan's father," he muttered to himself.
It is fitting that Narsih felt familiar when he first met Zayn, it turns out that the young man who had once calmed Ziyyan's cries in the hospital was Ziyyan's real father.
"Oh Allah." - He groaned again, and without feeling the tears began to drip.
Now the woman is confused herself. Between wanting to convey this good news or better just shut up, waiting for Zayn who met with Ara himself later.
The sound of a car engine was heard stopping in front of his yard. As Narsih moved out, hoping that Ziyyan and her father would come.
"Assalamu alaikum, Ma'am yu," said Rudy with a smile to Narsih who stood in his doorway.
"Wa alaikum salam," he replied, as he stepped closer to his sister who suddenly came without giving any news before.
Ara also came out of the car, and this certainly made Narsih feel happy and mixed with anxiety. Happy because it turns out Ara is fine, restless because all this time he was always worried that someday his adopted son would be picked up back by his family.
And the arrival of Rudy this time very make Narsih feel gamang. He was afraid that what had been feared would happen as well.
"Tumben you're not here to tell me first, Rud," he said to Rudy, after his sister had sat in his living room.
"Yes, Ma'am yu. I came here suddenly. Madam told me to pick up Neng Ara." Rudy explained. While in his last sentence, he deliberately lowered his voice so that his brother was not too shocked when he heard it.
Instantly Narsih was silent, from the look of his face it was clear that the woman was very sad. It turns out that what does not belong to us, one day will also return to its owner. And Narsih must accept that.
"Mother, where is Ziyyan?"
Ara had been looking for her child in almost all the rooms of her small house, but did not even find the whereabouts of her child.
"Did he play at Nabil's house, Mom?" Ara's footsteps began to move to the house of Nabil, Ziyyan's playmate near her home.
"Ziyyan again came out." Narsih started to open her voice.
Ara paused her steps. The girl turned to Narsih, clearly visible from the face of her adoptive mother when she was keeping something from him.
Rudy realized the atmosphere that began to feel awkward, so he chose to go out just reasoned to just greet the neighbors near his home.
"Sit down for a minute, there's something I want to talk to you about" she said later. Then Ara chose to sit next to Narsih.
"I also have something to talk to Mom about." The woman also started to open her voice.
The mood was quiet again. The two women seemed to be both thinking about where to start.
"Okay, you used to talk." Narsih finally chose to postpone it for a while.
There was the sound of Ara's breath blowing out. The woman stared fixedly at her foster mother before she opened her voice first.
"Mom, I'm going home. Mr. Rudy came here to get me home. Papi I'm sick, ma'am." Ara gave her a little pause.
"But I don't want to go home if Mom doesn't come home with Ara, either" he said.
Instantly Narsih was stunned, not out of shock to hear that Ara was coming back home. He just did not expect that his adopted son also invited him to participate with him.
"Mom's coming with me, right?" Ask expectantly.
"But, Nak-" The woman is certainly still worried. Between wanting to join because he did not want to part with Ara and Ziyyan, but he still hesitated to leave his beloved home and village.
"Please, Mom, come with me. It's for Ziyyan's sake as well Mom, "he asked again.
From the look of the eye, Narsih could have guessed that Ara really needed himself to follow Ziyyan in her home.
Although there will likely be a professional babysitter who will keep Ziyyan there, but Narsih knows how her grandson's character is. Ziyyan would not be able to stay apart for long with herself.
Perhaps it was better that he agreed to Ara's invitation first, later after he could take Ziyyan's heart he would go back to this house. Because he did not leave forever a home filled with the most beautiful memories of his old family.
"All right, I'll come with you home. But if you don't feel right there, you can come back here again, right?"
Ara nodded happily to hear it. Let it be, he did not pay too much attention to the words of Narsih who will return here. At the moment he is only very happy to hear the approval of Narsih.
"Thank you, ma'am," he said, clutching tightly to his adoptive mother's old body.
And Narsih could only gently rub Ara's head that was leaning spoiled on her shoulder.
"What did your mom want to say? It must be Ziyyan's problem, right?"
Ara took off her arms, and Narsih nodded her head doubtfully.
"Ck, the kid! It must have done the same thing to Mas Hanung. Ziyyan must have taken care of Mas Hanung again. Isn't it, Mom?"
Narsih shook his head slowly. "It's about Ziyyan's father, son."
Ara's forehead immediately wrinkled. Actually he was confused himself had to explain how else to his son so as not to assume the boss of Hanung is his father.
"So Ziyyan's father came here."
"Ooh..," The woman just rounded her mouth. Because he just thought maybe the boss of Hanung was coming here.
"Son Ara, Zayn came here." Narsih further clarified the meaning of his words.
"What! Zayn?"
