Ch 39 - Fear of Death

A few minutes ago after Ryuga left the group of Dragon Wings.

"Today Shin was quite a while," Akane said.

"Maybe he discovered the whereabouts of the Dungeon boss?" reply Gin who was sharpening his sword.

Aki who from the beginning was silent also wanted to express her opinion. "Shin, he might ... "

As a Tank, Kido then took out a large shield from the storage bag to become a protector later.

"Who-whom is coming!" Aki said then she used supporting magic to raise their stat all.

A few seconds later after Aki said that, a familiar voice sounded in Gin's ear.

"Wyverns!!" gin said with an expression of disbelief when he heard Wyvern's roar.

Like a rainstorm, from the outside of the barrier dome were seen many large needles made of Ice, and darted slightly through the barrier dome made by Akane.

GROAHS

Once again came the sound of Wyvern roaring loudly, everyone could feel a powerful mana energy radiating from outside the barrier dome. "Kido, use your skill to withstand the attack!" Gin shouted loudly.

"Good!"

Mana energy emanated from Kido's body, before long a transparent Shield was seen lining Akane's barrier dome.

BLARS!!

But that was not enough, the attack launched Wyvern could easily destroy the barrier dome and Shield owned by Akane and Kido.

Smoke billowed due to the destruction of the Akane barrier, four people were thrown away right then and there. If not for Aki's supporting magic, maybe they would all have gotten quite severe injuries.

Gin and the others stood up. "Don't worry! If we work together, we can defeat that Wyvern!" Gin shouted to encourage his comrades.

The puff of smoke started to subside, they could all see an Ice Wyvern staring at its prey. With a trembling body, Aki suddenly fell to her knees, which made Akane wonder.

"Aki, what's wrong with you?"

"All of us, we're gonna die." Aki's eyes looked blank, her voice sounding limp and desperate.

"What do you mean?" ask Akane for confusion.

Hearing that, Gin also felt confused. As the puff of smoke had completely disappeared, Gin's body trembled violently as he stared at the sky.

Not only one Ice Wyvern tail is visible, but there are 4 Ice Wyverns. Gin swallowed his own words, defeating 4 Ice Wyverns? That's impossible to do!.

"Chairman, what should we do?!" Although Kido was scared when he saw 4 Ice Wyverns in the sky, but he tried to stay calm, hoping the chairman could provide a solution.

"What am I doing? Of course to survive." Gin replied with a cynical grin.

Not getting an answer, Akane sees Gin has run away leaving her and the others behind. "Brengs*k you're Gin! I thought you were a good person, but it turned out to be . -"

Not finishing his sentence, Akane turned her attention to the sky. In front of all the mouths of Ice Wyvern appeared a magic circle, not long after, there were thousands of large needles made of Ice magic.

"Akane, you take your sister and get the hell out of here." Holding his broken right arm, Kido asked Akane and Aki to run away.

"But Kido, you-"

"Now!" Kido shouted loudly.

Biting her own lips, Akane walked over to Aki who still had a blank look. Carrying Aki on his shoulder, Akane immediately flew away using wind magic without looking back.

"After being betrayed, will this be the end of my life? Hah .. At least I can buy time for the two girls." Kido said with a bitter smile, he was like a person who had resigned himself to death.

But a memory flashed through Kido's mind, "Ti-no, I-I can't die. My son and wife are-".

Thousands of large needles of Ice were darting down like a rainstorm. Due to his one hand being lost, Kido could not hold his large shield to defend. In the end, thousands of large needles of Ice that penetrated the large body of Kido to make his entire body hollow.

Looking at his dead target, two Ice Wyverns descended from the sky to eat their prey. While the other two Ice Wyverns scattered away, one towards Gin and the other towards Akane and Aki.

The Black Dragon Katana in Ryuga's hands was enveloped in pitch-black smoke, with a single slash, Ryuga decapitated one of the Ice Wyverns.

Shocked by Ryuga's sudden arrival, the surviving Ice Wyvern flaps its wings, then flies off to keep its distance from Ryuga.

Seeing how his friend died with his head separated from the body, Ice Wyvern was furious, he roared loudly.

With full force, Ice Wyvern opened his mouth and spouted his Ice breath towards Ryuga. In response Ryuga raised his left hand towards the incoming Ice breath, a large magic circle appeared before Ryuga right now.

"Fire Magic: Flame Burst."

From within the magic circle, came out a huge burst of Fire and headed towards the Ice Wyvern's breath. The Fire and Ice Magic collided, due to Ryuga's high MP and Fire mastery level, quickly the Flame bursts eroded Ice Wyvern's breath.

The Bursts of Fire still continued to shoot towards the Ice Wyvern until it injured its right wing.

Ice Wyvern fell down from the height of the sky due to loss of balance, as if not willing to give up, the still-dead Ice Wyvern opened its mouth once again, a huge magic circle appeared in front of Ice Wyvern's mouth.

A giant pillar of Ice with its sharp edge came out from the Ice Wyvern magic circle. The Ice Wyvern roared loudly.

GROAHHH

"Whisper! You're just a dragon being a thing." Ryuga raised the Black Dragon Katana upwards, not long after, a silhouette of fire dragon appeared wrapped around Ryuga's sword.

Ice Wyvern was about to launch that giant pillar made of Ice. But before the giant ice pillar slid, Ryuga first shook his sword.

"The Fire Dragon."

The silhouette of the fire dragon wrapped around Ryuga's sword darted rapidly towards Ice Wyvern. On the way, the silhouette of the fire dragon grew even bigger, to the point that it was twice as big as Ice Wyvern himself.

DUARR!!!

A huge explosion occurred when the silhouette of the fire dragon smashed into the giant Ice pillar. The smoke started to billow, after a while, the puff of smoke had already disappeared completely.

Ryuga could see that Ice Wyvern's body, which was originally bluish-white, had now turned black due to the huge explosion of fire.

Ryuga let out a long sigh, then muttered softly, "What really happened? Why would Ice Wyvern appear in Dungeon Rank B? And who was the corpse that Ice Wyvern had eaten earlier?" Ryuga's head was filled with many questions.

From within the arm appeared a black shadow, the black shadow was wriggling, and it changed its shape to resemble a human figure familiar to Ryuga.
