The Hugger Heart

The Hugger Heart
MORNING SICKNESS

The following days our activities were busy with preparation to prepare photos of the process of making woven. Starting from looking for materials, drying, pounding, coloring to weaving.

My husband must immediately learn new things outside of his routine so far that only dwell behind the table with keyboard buttons and a loyal computer screen accompany when still working first. Turning to the watery soil to pick up the material, the field soil to dry up to the ground with small grass where mashing and coloring the ready-woven purun grass.

'So these runes are dried while sprinkled with kitchen ashes so why, Cil?' asked my husband to one of the craftsmen who was sprinkling kitchen ashes on the dried grass.

Acil is a banjar language, Kalimantan, meaning mother, the call acil is addressed to people who are younger than our mother's age.

This week I accompanied my husband to learn how to weave. The craftsmen were enthusiastic about teaching. Each one alternates explaining each process. And my husband seemed serious about his every explanation. Repeat and try to do it yourself.

'That's so durable, let's mix and eat small animals that live in between these purun nah' explained Acil to my husband.

While I as a photographer who capture those moments to be sent to the race committee later. Take a right and clear angle in order to represent the process of making these webbing. Occasionally while asking the craftsmen when my previous order was completed.

The weather that often rains a few days yesterday makes the process of drying purun grass slow down. Because this process relies heavily on the scorching sun so that it dries quickly and can be processed to the next stage, namely the pounding of turf to become flat and ready to be used as weaving material.

My husband has to take it seriously because he's the one who's going to explain the whole process before the jury in English. About words and sentences in English being the number two focus, the number one focus is to master all things related to webbing. What would you say if you didn't understand the process?

We are no longer just selling woven products, by learning like this we are increasingly understanding all things related to webbing.

Learning English through online learning twice a week in the evening to prepare for our departure do as well. Although only one person left, my husband and I did not participate, but to encourage him and accompany him in each process, I also learned English as well.

'So Mr. Handoyo, please explain to us about your product, what is the materials name and steps to make these beautiful bags' I tried to pretend to be a judge to practice my husband's English.

We often do dialogue exercises like this every day in various settings, since my husband decided to accept the invitation of the event in Azerbaijan. Hopefully this way there will be no significant obstacles for my husband abroad later throughout the event lasts for 14 days.

The departure plan was imminent, less than three months later my husband had to go to Azerbaijan to attend an international exhibition from around the world. In addition to my husband, there is one other participant who comes from Yogyakarta. He was named Mr. Andika, who would bring handicrafts from used wood that were converted into clocks, radios to decorative lights.

I started to stay away from the kitchen, because all of a sudden all the smell from the kitchen made me nauseous. I couldn't smell the freshly cooked rice either, immediately moved away and turned on the fan with the greatest wind speed. The smell of ironed clothes, the smell of softener clothes I like all of a sudden everything just doesn't taste good at all.

Vomiting in the morning became my routine, every time I finished brushing my teeth, my stomach was instantly nauseous and vomiting many times. The sunshine I used to love, I'm now away. My body became limp with no energy every time exposed to the scorching sun for a long time. My eyes can't get the glare of the sun. Scrolls of sweat came out from the tip of the head to the tip of the foot that immediately wet the clothes I was wearing, he said, every time I was out of the house and was exposed to the hot sun that began to rise above 09:00 in the morning.

Be me doing activities outside the house early in the morning and late in the afternoon until evening. During the day, I stayed indoors more, served online shoppers and prepared packages for my husband to deliver.

Tidying up and making additional embellishments on woven products became something I liked. The art of decoupage I also studied online and consulted with my friend in Jakarta to beautify woven products. The natural look becomes more beautiful and unique with the addition of tissue decoupage on some parts of the webbing.

All the temporary affairs of the children are the responsibility of my husband. Including my son number five. Because only he has not been home schooled, then every time my husband sends goods, he must be invited. To comfort her when her mother was heavily drunk because of her pregnancy.

'Daddy, do not forget to go home later buy clear vegetables spinach, vegetable soup and fried chicken flour in the stalls usually yes' my message before closing the front door of the house.

Because it is still not able to enter the kitchen, then buying cooked cuisine becomes our daily solution. Thank God there are many home cooking vendors near where we live. And what we like the most because it suits the cuisine is a mature food seller whose stall is located next to where to send packages. The patch is not too spicy, the flavor is more pronounced, and the portion of the package is more than other sellers. The seller can sell cheaper because there is no need to pay rent for the place. He cooks his food in front of his own house. Only provide a long table and some chairs for those who want to eat in place. The place is clean, though simple.

'Cici Ai wants to buy some Gambung bread?' ask me to Aisyah, the smallest child now attached to her father. His father was waiting on the motorbike with packages to be delivered, waiting for Aisyah to leave the house.

'Later tell Dad to buy Bread Gambung also yah' I explained to him while giving ten thousand bills and tidying up the small veil he wore himself. Aisyah has become more independent since I started experiencing morning sickness. She can already wear her own veil, button her clothes and wear her own shoes.

'Dad..oti ambung uat Ai' he said with his lisp tongue after he finished wearing his shoes.
