The Heroes and The Fallen Angel
Chapter 4's
We hurried to put on makeshift clothes, linen clothes and cloth pants, going outside the inn. The innkeeper greeted us as we walked out through the door window. Curiosity and longing mixed into one. Kariya's hoarse voice can already be heard faintly here. In view of how the conversation was, Kariya was obviously upset.
"Woi, did you hear me Fumiko?"
"I heard, I heard, in short I need to further refine my speed as well as my magical level of attack. Isn't it?"
"That's right," Kariya said a little harshly. His guts and voice resembled Akiyama, only more rough than Akiyama's. "Remember this for our survival—"
Kariya and her group stopped to see us. Of course their gazes were more on Maehara who was at the very front.
"Oh, hello chief."
"Kariya, nice to see you back. And you're friends too." Maehara wiped clean the faces of the Kariya squad which was replied with a small nod.
"Ah, I want to rest now, you guys have been here a long time, haven't you?" Kariya came cutting our group. I'm getting out of the way. "Show me a good place to eat."
From his attitude, obviously Kariya changed a lot. He was still the same as he was then, a somewhat rude but kind heart and intentioned badung only now calmer and also more often silent. And as for the good place to eat, Saku was the one who knew the best place here, therefore he was the one leading the way.
We also greeted each other and exchanged information between squads on a small trip to the four-story building there. Reportedly Kariya's squad was almost able to defeat Naerith, and their squad managed to defeat several Ether monsters guarding the Ether Node. Incredibly, our team of six, still cannot defeat even one of those monsters. The development of Kariya and his team is indeed quite rapid.
Kariya's squad consists of four people, Fumiko, Yuito, Rin, and their leader Kariya himself. This team is arguably more effective because there is a Healing Class, namely Rin, while in our squad we are not. Fumiko became the main fighter along with Kariya, and Yuito became a supporter of long-range attacks.
Hearing how they were developing, Mugi and Akiyama looked a bit stiff now.
"So apparently, it's good that you have a healer in the squad, so if you get hurt just ask the healer." Mugi said it a bit upset.
"I am being used up all the time! It's exhausting." Rin let out a long breath.
"Excite Rin!" Pocket gave a small smile. Sweet smile.
Maehara chuckled, her face looking rather relaxed now. Maybe because he thought Kariya's group would be safe.
"But I don't think you're finally willing to do this, I thought you'd just sit idly by because you didn't like seniors" Maehara said.
"It's over again?" ask Akiyama.
A waiter came to our table, young lady Tigran, bringing her the drink Kariya wanted. The froths filled the Kariya cup. Before trying to answer the truth, Kariya waited for the waiter to leave and began to say in a soft voice.
"Ehem, a lot happened a while ago, and I'm sure we should. Because if we don't, we're dead."
"Are you dead?" all asked the same thing, except for the Kariya squad members of course.
"Remember what Moraine said when we first came into this world. He said, 'Ten years from now, you will be heroes who will save the world from destruction and drive away the darkness forever. When that is achieved, according to the prophecy you will be returned to the world of origin' from the words I realize that we can return or not to Japan, there is no meaning if it does not defeat the darkness. Only our classmates can." Kariya looked at the surface of her frothy cup. "That means, me and the others also have to be stronger" he added briefly.
"Yes, it was very important and I forgot Moraine's words, but thanks to senior Naerith who was able to persuade Kariya, the three of us wanted to come along to be stronger. There is no time to waste" explained Fumiko the class flower.
"I honestly don't want to but I don't have a choice, I want to go back and you don't?" ask Kariya with a sad face. "There's a certain reason why 20 people came here, not just one."
Right, I forgot about that. Only we, the heroes can defeat the Dark One and seal it, nothing else. The difficulty of all the six of us for some time ago is still not much, it is still early. We, a class of 20 people should be even better, not only the six of us in the Maehara squad but all the 11-3 classes should be stronger.
Pocket looked blankly at the wooden table filled with various food and drinks. His face was a little pouting. Ruri embraced Saku to feel calmer. Meanwhile, Akiyama and Mugi exchanged glances, it felt like they were struck as well. Maehara is like that too. The fact that we are 20-man class should be stronger, but impossible for some people like Touko and others.
"I have a suggestion, how about we hold a class event to raise the spirits again. All members of the class must attend, no exception." Akiyama somehow proposes something very different to his crude nature. "Let's talk carefully with others about this emergency we're facing."
"You're right, we need to be stronger, together. Anyway we just think of all these events as a long summer vacation." Ruri said a little nervously.
"And if what Moraine says is true, we will go back to our original age in Japan and what happened here is just like a dream. I think we should really take this world seriously, we're twenty people." Added Mugi.
"Well what's the chairman?" I'm now with Maehara.
All eyes were on Maehara, staring fixedly at every little gesture of the class leader. Maehara got up, she said something we had been waiting for since the moment we came to this world.
"Well, let's have our first holiday in the world, we'll have it in the most beautiful place on the continent." Everyone nodded in agreement. "We will be held in Tor Amora, the paradise of this continent!" clearly Maehara was beaming.
The night was still long, and the talk of the party excited everyone. Saku and Fumiko are the most chatty and Akiyama is the one who proposes the most bizarre ideas. Those bright faces, it feels like they miss me a lot in Japan.
