The Heroes and The Fallen Angel

The Heroes and The Fallen Angel
Chapter 3

My heart was moved, no matter what, but immediately with this mixed feeling, between sadness and happiness, between hatred and affection, my hand moved without my knowledge. Maybe this is the right time, as the Queen said. I also closed my eyes. Various memories flashed later, the 2 tatami room, the eyes of the next-class children, their annoying faces, and all these dark scenes were replaced by a soothing flash of light. Then came the ruby-red eyes that looked at me sharply, very sharp like a sword that flew piercing towards me.

I opened my eyes wide then tightly clenched the dagger's handle, and suddenly I was behind senior Lorath. Clanging sounded the sound of a falling sword reflected on the ground.

"Yuuji, you," said Maehara laun. His voice seemed to have stopped. I opened my eyes and immediately Saku hugged me and Maehara said, "We made it!" raising his hands to the ceiling; the water dome instantly disappeared, re-entering the ground.

"we succeeded!" exclaim Paku then. He's jumping around in excitement.

"I—"

"Truly you managed to beat the senior, look." Pocket shuffles the severed white cloth. That's the tape Lorath used. Still unable to believe what Saku said, I turned to senior Lorath.

"We've done enough practice this time, you've won" Lorath said, nodding lightly.

I beat Lorath? How come? All I remember was Lorath teleporting and then— gone, I didn't seem to want to make the faces of my friends sad. I also cheer happily with others. This is our first win since entering the world. True, the six of us never won even against monsters or even our teachers who even tried to fight with their hands tied and eyes closed.

"Hey! Oye! How do you use such a cool style?" Akiyama shoved my shoulders. "Hey Yuuji, do you hear me?" akiyama's voice was faintly heard by the turbulence of the wheels tapping on the path.

"It's Akiyama, maybe Yuuji is too excited to forget how to beat Lorath."

"Say you don't want me to have such a cool technique!" Akiyama crossed her arms, her face turned away from Ruri.

"Of course!" Ruri grinned evilly.

Seeing how Saku's slightly cynical smile felt, Akiyama got up and chased after Saku who somehow already knew that Akiyama would do nothing to him; Saku ran.

To coincide with that, Maehara came to bring mead and muffin. The chairman sat at the opposite table, his face more cheerful now, let alone with the view of the clear sky that was behind, making him look calmer.

"I paid for it."

"Thank you, chief, but at least let me order."

"Well, then I'll be right back."

"No-no, I'm just kidding" I said quickly, immediately to have Maehara sit back.

The chairman sat down again, he looked at the faces of these small squad members. His gaze was now on me, the same view as before, relaxed and calm. To be honest, that look made me hate a little.

"Yuuji," said Mugi who was sitting next to me. "What elements are you really good at?"

"Ah yes, I also just saw you using magic, maybe your element is fire but I don't think it's possible." Maehara closed her eyes, her eyes closed. "The fire element doesn't allow the user to move that fast, usually the wind element that makes the body move faster," Maehara said, opening her eyes and staring at me.

"I still don't understand the elements that I'm good at, I mean only this time I use magical powers, usually I fail and just this morning when I meet the Queen, the sword I made has an uncanny shape."

"It could be that the elements you master are fire and wind," proposes Saku, he rests his chin with both hands. His eyes looked at the flying island that filled the sky there. "But then,"

"That means Yuuji has two elements, which is very rare even for seniors" Maehara explained.

"It could also be because Yuuji has a derived element from those two elements." Mugi is now staring at the ceiling. His face was as confused as the others.

"Maybe we better go back to the Queen and ask her."

I say so so that others stop trying to think about how it happened. Let alone them, I still do not understand. All I remember was that I closed my eyes, and then my hand moved on its own. My body felt like it was flying, like a cotton swerving down, very light and fast because my legs were somehow so heavy and strong as a reliable runner.

But behind the impromptu style prowess I used to defeat seniors, there was a strange feeling back then. Especially the ruby-red eyes that were staring intently, it felt like someone was trying to kill me. Because of this scary feeling I don't want to use that strange style anymore, even remembering it just doesn't want to. Our intention to ask the Queen alone needs to be undone because I don't want to remember the incident.

The day went by so quickly, we had a party for our first win. I became the main star. The next day we started training with senior Lorath. The various formations we use, defensive formations, circle formations and all the ways we can. The result was nothing, we lost badly. Likewise with the following days, we continued to lose to the seniors. Senior speed was indeed unfathomable, naturally, senior Lorath's element was wind. Sure senior will be very fast.

I was still very stunned at how senior threw me into the sky and when it came back to the ground, all my friends in the vanguard, Mugi and Akiyama had already lost their hands. Lying helplessly with blue faces. Akiyama cursed as much as he could, even threatening to kill the senior. And the senior replied with the words "Kill me if you dare."

Such are the stories of our defeats, after which we continued to lose in a row. Our training has been in vain. The magical equipment Akiyama bought had no effect at all. The practice of creating smaller and stronger fireballs remained without any effect, Pocket only silent when easily defeated by Lorath's slash. Mugi, Maehara, and Ruri also with their new moves remained defeated easily. It seems like we are destined to be bad people.

We must not despair, the world needs us, according to the prophecy we will be the saviors in the next 10 years. We have to stay up. It was my thinking all along, but it felt absolutely impossible. We've never been in charge of maintaining ether balance, seniors say our levels are still too low, Ether incongruity can kill us easily. Therefore the one who replaced our busy life was the Queen, she did the job we were supposed to do.

"Damn it! Goddamnit!" Akiyama put his body on the bed. He jumped like a stranded whale. "Later if I'm strong, I'll slap a hundred times the face of that Elf!"

"Eh so, senior himself said, 'do it if you can'" Mugi said slightly mockingly.

"Mugi, you should also be furious, see how the face of the Elf is mocking us!"

"Yes, but the fact is that we are weak" Mugi said as she stared at the wooden floor. Akiyama turned his head towards Mugi, his eyes staring intently. "I mean, when was the last time we won, maybe a week ago and that's our first win in this world. The rest lose hard, even with the little lizards we lose."

"When times are cunning, he uses the element of darkness, it's worth it that we lose."

The door hinges sounded creaking, the door leaves were wide open. Maehara. "Of course, this is what the world is like, it's very dangerous" Maehara said gently. He apparently heard our conversation.

"Of course, I lost because the enemy was too strong, not me who was weak." Akiyama scoffs at himself. Then Akiyama cleared his throat and said, "

"Oh yes, chief, where are Master Tudor and the others?" ask the chairman. "I haven't heard from him yet" I added just as Maehara was sitting on the level bed.

"Master was reportedly busy taking care of the ether imbalance in the Imperial area. Rumor is this about the traitor."

"Well, I told you we're weak people because it's not much to rely on." Akiyama hit the air like he was hitting a boxing bag.

"You're saying we're not weak, but the enemy is too strong?"

"No, I mean." Everyone looked at Akiyama. "Ah forget it, I'll sleep,"

I chuckled to find Akiyama's behavior very rarely seen in class, usually he was strong and really strong unlike this. Maybe because a completely different world made it so.

"Good night" murmured Akiyama.

Silence then enveloped this room. And immediately there were footsteps coming in a hurry. BRAK!!! The door leaves are open.

"Hey!" Akiyama woke up. He stared fixedly at Ruri who was in the doorway.

"Can't you knock on the door first?" Mugi also woke up.

"Chairman!" Pocket appeared behind Ruri. The faces of the two girls looked very serious.

"What are Saku and Ruri willing to come here at night?"

"It's about Kariya and Naerith!" saku's shout made a Tigran who passed in the hall turn towards him for a moment, then walk back. "They came here!"
