The Heart-Bitter

The Heart-Bitter
Revealing the Truth

A few days before David was reunited with Julia and Andri, David remembered he was watching basketball on his living room television but only his eyes were staring at the television screen, while his mind is not there. The moment of inter-campus basketball competition where he saw Andri, his brother-in-law. The sister-in-law who had taken away her only sister disappeared had no idea where the past five years had gone.

Andri's game that made David's eyes amazed to reduce his frustration and hatred for Andri, but his friendly attitude and so loved by his friends made him think there was something wrong with what he knew all along. He began to feel restless and his anxiety was realized by visiting the house of one of his brother's friends, who happened to know its location because he had taken Julia there.

David comes to the house of Silvi, his brother's best friend, Silvi still lives at his parents' house, he has worked but still not married. Silvi lets David in after missing from her shock.

"Either David, I don't know how, he broke up with me from that day on, he's no longer close to me, he's kind of away from me , maybe he was disappointed because I did not want to help him at that time" Silvi told me after David expressed his intention and purpose to meet Silvi.

"What does Silvi mean at the time?"

"You don't know? The day of Thunder's death, since Julia was like a depression, she stayed away from me and from her friends, only one could approach her, Andri."

"Thunder Death?" David was confused.

"You haven't rahu all this time? Thunder of your brother's girlfriend, he died, his bike was hit by a truck on his way home from school breakup."

"Sister Julia wasn't with him at the time?" David breathed a little relieved, although he was shocked when he found out his girlfriend Julia was not Andri, but Thunder, and only now he knew that Thunder was dead.

"That's what I thought drove him away from me, that night after the school breakup Julia and Thunder continued the party, I came home because I was being escorted by my parents. At two o'clock in the morning he called me to be picked up, he was so drunk and so was Thunder, but I couldn't come, I couldn't get out of the house anymore let alone the night was so late. The next morning I heard Thunder died, but your brother survived, apparently the thunder came home alone, and someone picked your brother home who drove him home. I'm sure it's Andri, because I know Guntur and Andri are good friends."

"Sorry Brother, but at that time my brother asked to be picked up where?" The alarm of danger in David's brain began to light up, his feelings were already torn apart by guilt. Silvi did not immediately answer him, he looked into David's eyes deeply, trying to penetrate David's mind and weigh whether David was ready to accept the truth, Silvi to exhale many times.

"A hotel, not far from our school's farewell building." The word that came out from Silvi's mouth felt heavy, and David's body immediately drooped.

It was no longer difficult for him to decipher who was wrong and who was right about this. Of course David felt guilty because he never wanted to know what happened to his brother, he knew at that time his brother was depressed locked himself in his room, he said, he often heard his brother crying and even roaring in his room next to David's room but he did not care, he was engrossed in robots and computers. Even worse, he judged his brother before searching for the facts. Until he finally saw his brother's closet empty because his parents were expelled due to being caught pregnant out of wedlock, but he still did not care to even blame his brother. No tears were shed, so David decided to find out the whereabouts of his brother's family. He was very grateful when he met the two very sincerely accept it and their families are fine.

Today David decided to convey this truth to his parents. He remained optimistic even though he knew how big his parents' egos were, and David was already prepared for the consequences. He walked out of his room to the living room where his father and mother were sitting together.

"How was the competition yesterday, you won David?" His father immediately asked as soon as he saw David walking down the stairs.

"No, we're not champions!" David answered lazily.

"Heard you weren't a core player? Didn't I give your coach a letter of reference?"

"Don't David be a hypocrite, now that it's such an age, I've reached the point of my career like this solely for the success of my children!"

"Oh yeah? How's the other dad's son doing? Father's only daughter?" David was ready to challenge his father.

"I don't care about him anymore."

"But I care! she's my sister, and I'm telling you, Julia's okay, she's graduated from college, thanks to her husband's fees, she's now working, her position's pretty established, they already have a home and Dad already has two grandchildren who are all healthy and happy, they send greetings to you, they do not hate you. They didn't come here to ask you for anything, but out of respect and love for you as parents!" David still looked at his father's eyes intently.

"Their deeds have tarnished my honor, dropping my good name!"

"What do you get with popularity? Where are all the wealth and titles you have? will they accompany Dad when Dad is buried there? I don't know, but we're all gonna die. All of my friends, relationships, money posts, popularity disappeared, it's our prayers that my children and grandchildren will accompany me there." David kept raising his voice which made his mother aghast.

"David! Don't you say that to your father!" His mother shouted at David.

"Sorry Ma, but that's the fact, sister Julia can live happily without capital and berdpleng name Father. I can go to UI without taking Dad's name, and not using Dad's money. While you deceive yourself by pretending not to lose your daughter. Sister Julia may have been wrong back then, but she has made amends by being responsible for raising her child without your help." Both of his parents were seen rising emotions when they heard David's words.

"Braven you're David! I will never forgive their mistakes! I almost failed to become a member of the House of Representatives if only I didn't spend so much money to silence the mouths of so many people!"

"If money is your main consideration, please cross my name from your family card, I can't live with people who don't have hearts!' David turned and walked out,

"David! Don't leave! Where are you going?" His mother screamed to hold him back, David stopped and reacted immediately by not giving his parents a chance to talk.

"Oh yes one more thing. You should thank Bang Andri. Bang Andri who saved your face, that boy is not the son of bang Andri, he came to take responsibility for the actions of his girlfriend, sister Julia who died. Bang Andri also saved Julia's sister when she nearly committed suicide. I don't know what would happen if Julie killed herself, would Dad get to the DPR seat?" David smiled cynically, he continued his steps out, not caring about the cries of his parents who asked him to stop. David didn't even bring his motorbike or his car, he was out on foot until it was out of his parents' sight. David's mother, who had been silent because she thought David was bluffing, would not have the courage to leave, immediately stood up to chase after David, but her hand was immediately caught by her husband.

"Leave it! He's going home! That kid won't be able to live alone!" Pride was still clearly heard from her husband's voice.

Her mother David could only cry, so far she never dared to argue what became her husband's decision. He cried all day and that's what he did after David didn't come home for 3 days. David's cell phone was not taken, his mother found David's phone on his desk, and all the contents of his room were still complete. David actually left without bringing anything his parents gave him.
