THE FLOWER PALACE'S SECRET

THE FLOWER PALACE'S SECRET
Chapter 35: Finding the Point of Light

“Say, who told you to drink poison?”

Shen Yanzhia asked fully inquiringly at a man who was sitting on the bed. That person, was a dying person who was exposed to the Blue Grass poison, who had finished being treated and now his condition had gradually improved.

“You don't want to talk?” Shen Yanzhia asked again. That person looked at Shen Yanzhia and Ru Xiaolan in turn. His mouth was tightly closed.

“This is how you return the favor?”

Shen Yanzhia started to feel annoyed. He had deliberately come all the way to the residence of Prince Yun because Ru Xiaolan told him that the person had already completely healed. Shen Yanzhia wanted to do something she could do to continue the investigation, even though there was no Lin Zian by her side. She is an independent woman before, she will not easily depend on others.

The look on the man's face showed fear. Seeing Shen Yanzhia who was getting upset, Ru Xiaolan immediately patted her shoulder, asking her to be a little more patient when facing this kind of person. Moreover, this fellow had only just recovered after nearly a season and a half of lying down. The nerves may still be stiff because they are not moved for a long time.

“Don't be afraid, he's the one who has saved you from that poison,” Ru Xiaolan said, hoping the fear on that person's face can be slightly reduced.

“Really?”

Ru Xiaolan nodded. Now, the look on the person's face slowly improved.

“What is someone in the Ministry of Justice forcing you to do?”

That guy shakes.

“I'm a former servant of Yilan Palace,” replied the man.

“I know."

The man then began to tell his story. He was indeed a man who had worked as a servant of Yilan Palace and came out three years ago, according to the story told by Tang Yin. The man also told him that he could no longer work in the palace because the people of the palace were very cruel and often made him uncomfortable. The person said, The Yilan Palace the residence of the late Consort Rui is a magnificent and beautiful palace, which is not inferior to Ruo Shui Palace and Guanling Palace. The palace was the best concubine palace among the others.

“At the end of last fall, someone came to me and told me to die.”

“Why?”

The man hesitated to say something.

“I... I-”

Shen Yanzhia held back the words of that person. He took out a piece of paper which he slipped from inside his sleeve. Bloodletter. The letter belonged to the late Crown Prince, which he had deliberately borrowed from Tang Yin.

“Where did you get this?”

That guy was very surprised. How could the letter fall into his hands? As he remembered, he had already hidden the letter in the basement of his house. No one knew anything about the letter but him and those people.

“This is the handwriting of the late Crown Prince. Tell me, what's your relationship with him?”

The person's body shook violently. Looking at the letter in Shen Yanzhia's hand, her memories returned to a long-buried past. Ru Xiaolan immediately poured a glass of water then drank it on the person, trying to keep that person from losing his consciousness back due to the immense fear.

“Do not be afraid, just say it,” said Ru Xiaolan softly.

After a little more calm, the man went back to telling stories. He was actually not a servant, but a guard soldier who always followed the late Crown Prince and previous Emperor. He was transferred to the border for violating a law and was banned from returning. Although he was a soldier, not many people knew and knew him. The man said that he got the letter from the late Crown Prince on the day when the great battle took place. That same day, the previous Emperor and Crown Prince were killed.

The man said that he should not give the letter to anyone until it was time for someone to come and ask for it. In order to save himself and save the letter, he ran away from the battlefield with many arrows and sword wounds all over his body. He then ventured to re-enter the palace as a servant at Yilan Palace, which happened to be newly built as a gift for Consort Rui as a grand concubine.

“Then why did you get that deadly poison?”

“I don't pay too much attention to the big picture because my eyes are blind to circumstances. Some of the palace officials know my face and my identity. They asked me to hand over the letter, even ransacking my home. Not finding it, they decided to keep an eye on me. I accidentally learned something they kept secret.”

Shen Yanzhia was not interested in the secret matters of the higher-ups. He was only interested in the letter and all the secrets hidden behind it. Why did the late Crown Prince write it? Why did he cut his own blood? Why did he tell this man to hide it?

“When you received this letter, how was the late Crown Prince?”

“She's fine, but her face looks pale. The late Emperor back then also looked pale.”

Bizarrely. If your body is healthy, why use blood to write? Isn't the army headquarters barracks also available in ink? Shen Yanzhia was increasingly feeling an awkwardness. It is impossible for the late Crown Prince to injure his own finger to write this letter. Except, the state of the late Crown Prince only looked fine on the outside, but was being injured on the inside!

“What angle is his mouth dry?” asked Ru Xiaolan.

“Ya.”

Ru Xiaolan and Shen Yanzhia looked at each other.

The poison! The late Crown Prince may have been poisoned! The son of the nation must have spewed blood from his mouth and immediately wrote a letter with that blood. If this assumption was indeed true, then there must be someone who had carefully planned all of it, making the death of the previous Crown Prince and Emperor seem like an ordinary death from war!

Shen Yanzhia felt a strange emotion again. The emotion again surfaced every time it came into contact with everything related to the late Crown Prince. Really, this is really strange and uncontrollable. Shen Yanzhia turned her body, turned her back to that person and turned her back to Ru Xiaolan.

His eyes feel hot. If their deaths were intentional, then this nation has been deceived for a dozen years! This Ling Mainland contained fools who did not know the exact cause of the deaths of their own two leaders! Those people are stupid, the palace officials are stupid, all the royal families are stupid, he is also stupid!

Shen Yanzhia cursed at her own thoughts that were unable to think clearly at a time like this. He took a dagger tucked in his waist and pointed it at the man. It was only a moment that Ru Xiaolan and that person were shocked half to death, not expecting that this woman was carrying a dagger and pointing it blatantly.

“Nona, what are you doing?” Ru Xiaolan asked in panic.

“This fool must die! How could he be so foolish as to obey the words of the late Crown Prince and run away to hide as a servant in Yilan Palace?”

“Nona relax!”

“If only this person had immediately given his letter to the Queen Mother, would it be possible for the entire Ling people to live peacefully without knowing anything like now and let the Crown Prince and the late Emperor just die?”

Anger was bubbling within his chest. How could he not care so much all this time? Why should he know this after he married Lin Zian?

Shen Yanzhia cherished the Queen Mother like her own birth mother, she could not possibly let the noble lady grieve and lose her two beloved ones in vain!

“Nona, don't be in a hurry! We still have to wait for Young Master Lin Zian to come so that everything becomes clearer!”

Ru Xiaolan was about to seize the dagger in Shen Yanhzia's hand by force. The healer even blocked the sharp part of the dagger that was pointing directly at the person's chest until his palm bled. That person trembled in fear at the fury of Shen Yanzhia.

Shen Yanzhia's face grew even more stiff. Tears suddenly melted from both corners of his eyes. He still did not want to lower the dagger. His eyes stared intently at the man as if he wanted to kill him in one stab. Teeth grinding. The glint of anger in his eyes grew increasingly terrifying.

“Nona, relax! Why would you bother to make an antidote if you finally wanted to kill him?”

Shen Yanzhia still did not react.

“Please, Miss. If Young Master Lin Zian knew, what would he think of you? Wouldn't he be disappointed?”

Hearing Lin Zian's name, the flaming eyes of Shen Yanzhia slowly dimmed. His tense face began to loosen. The dagger in his hand just fell down on the blanket that had already been dripped with blood from Ru Xiaolan's palm. The woman rubbed her tears violently.

“Nona, you have to be patient until Young Master comes home,” Ru Xiaolan said as she picked up the dagger on the blanket.

“Your father left me a message to keep you calm and in control of yourself,”. Shen Yanzhia turned her body.

“I'll go home to the Qin residence.”

The woman then walked away.
