THE FLOWER PALACE'S SECRET

THE FLOWER PALACE'S SECRET
Chapter 23: Cold Attack

Ru Xiaolan sighed with a tired breath. He put all his medical equipment into a wooden box that he always carried when he left the house. The box contained only dozens of acupuncture needles rolled up inside a thick, pale cloth, as well as several bottles of herbal medicine that could be used to heal illnesses or minor wounds.

He got the box from the age of ten years, until the box was more valuable because the box was a memory box left by his father. The man who made him born into this world died many years ago from being killed by a soldier while on the battlefield, treating the wounds of someone he loved so much and respected.

The arm of the female healer was rolled up to the elbow. The palm of his hand he was sticking on Lin Zian's forehead. There was a cold sensation that instantly crept out once the skin of his palm came into contact with Lin Zian's forehead skin which was as white as flour.

“How?” shen Yanzhia asked who happened to be sitting on the edge of the same bed, behind the female physician.

“The cold attacks are almost running through the brain. I have no confidence to say when Young Master will wake up.”

The tone of voice sounded desperate. Ru Xiaolan suddenly felt guilty that she was unable to heal someone who was hit by a cold attack like this.

“Then how? I don't want this guy sleeping forever like that!”

Ru Xiaolan sighed again.

“We can only keep the air temperature in this room warm and wait until all blood circulation returns to normal as usual.”

Shen Yanhzia was no less desperate. It had been almost a day this man closed his eyes. The blanket he was wearing had even increased by two layers. If a normal person were to use it, they would sweat baths even though the weather was cold.

Xu Chi, after finishing his reprieve, returned to serve and accompany his ailing master. He occasionally looked and went to the East Pavilion to ask what needs Shen Yanzhia needed, because Prince Qin's wife had never stepped out of her legs, and remained by Lin Zian's side to monitor the man's development of consciousness.

“Before, did Young Master never sleep for a day last night?” Ru Xiaolan asked.

Shen Yanzhia was at a loss as to what to answer, because during that time she had always been busy in the medicine trial room. Shen Yanzhia had no idea what activities Lin Zian was doing in that span of time.

“Young Master has always been awake since his return from the palace. Even he forbade the maid to come,” Xu Chi immediately answered Ru Xiaolan's question. Shen Yanzhia growled in annoyance.

Right, there must be something wrong with his whereabouts while in the palace!

“Xu Chi, when Zian is like that, you dare not tell me?”

Xu Chi's body shook again. Shen Yanzhia looked at him sharply like some time ago.

“Sorry, wangfei. You are too busy in the trial room, I dare not bother you.”

Ru Xiaolan turned to look at Shen Yanzhia. Ever since his move to the palace of Prince Yun's residence, he had never been reunited with Shen Yanzhia since it was only Lin Zian who drove him alone back then.

Xu Chi's words made him curious, what did Shen Yanzhia do in the trial room during that time? Is this woman playing games or is she making something important?

Shen Yanzhia stood up from her place. He then returned Ru Xiaolan's gaze which implied many questions. He then sent Xu Chi out of the East Pavilion. After locking the door and making sure no one could hear their conversation, Shen Yanzhia took out a small medicine bottle from within her sleeve.

“What is this?”

Shen Yanzhia gave the medicine bottle to Ru Xiaolan.

“I managed to find the antidote to the poison Blue Grass.”

Ru Xiaolan was completely shocked. His face was implying a lack of confidence.

“Nona, how can it be?”

“What can't I do?”

“No, I mean, how did you find this?”

Hearing Ru Xiaolan continuously ask, Shen Yanzhia finally explained everything. To make the antidote, he had killed fifty white rats that were used as experimental materials. Shen Yanzhia also spent a day and night trying to find the antidote.

“I sacrificed many things and worked very hard to make this bidder.”

“The ingredients that Miss mentioned are generally used as medicinal ingredients. But, how is that possible? I bet you added something else, right?”

“Yes, your analysis power is indeed very extraordinary. I added a little bit of paper flower powder.”

“Paper flower?”

“Suri's mother once told me that all flower powders have a function. I've read many books of medicinal techniques and herbal ingredients. I think, paper flower powder is the most appropriate choice because the plant can grow throughout the season.”

Ru Xiaolan nodded in understanding. Unexpectedly, the medicinal ability of a princess like Shen Yanzhia turned out to be so incredible. He never even thought that the young lady had any knowledge of herbal ingredients. Ru Xiaolan thought that this one princess could only have fun by wandering the streets and acting as she pleased.

As someone who had been in the medicine world for over five years, Ru Xiaolan first felt ashamed at someone layman who was even far beyond her expectations. This one imperial lineage seemed completely different.

“You think I can't do anything because I'm a princess?”

“You know my thoughts?” ru Xiaolan asked curiously.

Shen Yanzhia sighed softly. He had already thought this would happen.

“Many people think the same as you. I know, I'm awesome! I can even surpass your abilities if I want to.”

“Nona, what else do I not know about you?”

“You won't understand. I may be just a princess of a little prince who has no great influence and is often oppressed by my brothers. But, you must not forget that the Queen Mother has always been behind me and loves me more than any other imperial princess. I learned many things from her noble self. The Queen Mother was my teacher, my mother, my grandmother, my aunt, and someone who meant a lot to me.”

Shen Yanzhia sat back on the edge of Lin Zian's bed. He glanced at the man at a glance, looking for something he had not found during their time together. Shen Yanzhia still did not know what was happening and what this man was hiding so hard that he became like this.

“This person, even though he and I were not very close as children, were important people in the eyes of the Queen Mother. I will definitely do everything possible so that the Queen Mother does not lose the people she values so much and loves so much.”

The atmosphere became so full of novelty. The cold air from outside began to rush back in. Shen Yanzhia rekindled the fireplace that had been extinguished until the room temperature became warm again. He returned to his consciousness after speaking so many words to Ru Xiaolan.

“Omong empty what did I actually say earlier?”

Shen Yanzhia almost shed tears. His hands were busy scraping the charcoal and blowing it to light. The dust that flew from the burning scraps hit her beautiful face and hair. There was a black scratch on his forehead and cheeks.

Ru Xiaolan's laughter broke. This woman really cannot be in a serious situation!

“Why are you laughing?”

“Nona, are you a tigress?”

“What did you say? Ru Xiaolan, you are so brave! Come here, I'll make you know how terrible the tigress you mean!”

The two women laughed together. Their chests felt more airy and their hearts were a little calmer. Shen Yanzhia looked at Lin Zian who was lying down like a dead person. At the very least, Lin Zian was still safe for now.

“I hope you wake up soon so that I can take you to the Yun residence immediately and see how magical the antidote to poison I made is. Zian, you can't miss this!”

Ru Xiaolan patted Shen Yanzhia's shoulder softly, asking her to be patient and trying to stay firm as cold attacks like this were already common to people in the winter. It's just that the healing rate and speed of consciousness of each person is different.

“Lanlan, you can go. I'll keep it here.”
