THE FLOWER PALACE'S SECRET

THE FLOWER PALACE'S SECRET
Chapter 21: Fear Exceeds Snow Rain

"Miss, how much longer are you going to finish this?"

Shen Yanzhia did not respond to Tan'er's question. His hands were busy picking up a few scoops of different types of herbal powder, then putting them into a small bowl of white ceramic.

This was the tenth bowl he filled with the herb powder. The other bowls that had been filled were placed in a row on the table, and each bowl was marked and named. The color of the herbs is different as well, because it comes from a mixture of one herb with other herbs.

Shen Yanzhia exerted all means to find the antidote to the Blue Grass poison. All of the medicinal ingredients he used were medicinal ingredients that he obtained a few days ago from Physician Zhu, the imperial physician who was specially assigned to serve as the official physician of the Qin Prince's residence. Those materials were rare materials of high quality and expensive. If not for him forcing his way into the medicine storage room and tying Physician Zhu to the support pole, Shen Yanzhia would have been unlikely to obtain those materials.

"Tan'er, bring me a little animal to try the cure!"

Hearing his employer's order, Tan'er rushed out of the drug-making trial room. In the middle of the road, he passed several servants and asked if there was a small animal that could be used as an experimental material. The servants of the Qin residence were confused because they had never heard or witnessed an animal being used as an experimental material. The servants suggested asking Prince Qin directly, as the prince's knowledge was much higher and greater than theirs.

Tan'er thought that it wasn't a bad idea. With a light step, he rushed towards the pavilion of the husband's residence of his master. After arriving in front of the flower garden, he crossed paths with Xu Chi. In the man's servant's hand was a container of warm water and a towel.

"Xu Chi, is Young Master inside?"

Xu Chi stopped his steps.

"What do you need?"

"I need to ask him something."

Xu Chi frowned. What exactly did this princess maid want to ask her master? Ah, right too. Tan'er must be running for Shen Yanzhia's job. But, why didn't wangfei directly ask him himself?

"Can't, the current Young Master doesn't want to see anyone," prevented Xu Chi as soon as Tan'er was about to step foot.

"Go back in a moment, or Young Master will be angry."

Tan'er pensively for a moment. The girl then turned around and walked back. Xu Chi, after making sure Tan'er was completely gone, continued his steps into the pavilion of Lin Zian's residence.

Shen Yanzhia, seeing her servant return without anything, felt astonished and confused.

"Where's the animal I asked for?" asked Shen Yanzhia later.

"Miss doesn't tell me what little animal I should bring," Tan'er replied innocently.

Shen Yanzhia patted her own forehead. He cursed his careless self and forgot not to tell Tan'er what animal he meant. Patiently, Shen Yanzhia then told Tan'er. A few moments later, the waiter came back out.

Shen Yanzhia continued her activities of concocting medicine. The bowls numbered fifteen now, lined up to have to use two tables. One small bowl lies apart from the other, underneath which lies a "Blue Grass" inscription". This was the poison he was going to try to offer. The poison was obtained by permission of the Justice Department through Tang Yin, on behalf of the Bureau of Investigation. The poison is only in the form of fine powder that is almost similar to pollen, only in pitch black. If it enters the body, the poison will directly work to attack the heart.

"Miss, are you really going to use this cute white rat for your experiment?"

"Funny? His life value would be even more valuable if he could help me find the antidote to the poison! Give me!"

Tan'er handed over a white mouse to his master. Shen Yanzhia then took out a very small wooden chopsticks, then put them into a bowl filled with the Blue Grass poison. He then applied the poison carried in the small chopsticks into a piece of cake, then let the white mouse eat it.

A few moments later, the poison began to react. The little mouse became more aggressive. Shen Yanzhia then drank the water that had been mixed with one of the concoction drugs. The white rat began to loosen its movements.

"Damn! This one doesn't work! Tan'er, give me the white rat again!" shen Yanzhia exclaimed as soon as she saw that the experimental rat had died after being given the medicine.

After the other mice came, Shen Yanzhia did the same thing as before, only that the concoction bidders given by the rats were different. So and so on dozens of times. Out of nowhere Tan'er got these rats, but Shen Yanzhia was clearly not going to give up.

Shen Yanzhia spent a day and night finding the antidote to the Blue Grass poison. The medicinal ingredients that had been exhausted, he took back from Physician Zhu's medicinal room. His good fortune was coming because the half-old physician was on duty in the palace so that he could freely take medicinal ingredients without the knowledge of the physician.

"Miss, aren't you going to stop for a moment? Since yesterday Miss has continued to be here without wanting to know or meet wangye," Tan'er asked one time.

"The man is big. I didn't go see him for a year won't be a problem."

Shen Yanzhia resumed her activities. This was the forty rats that were the victims of his experiments.

"A little more! Tan'er, bring me another rat!"

"Miss, where am I supposed to find him in the middle of the night?"

"Where! You need to find him right away!"

Tan'er was about to refuse, but he paused because he saw Shen Yanzhia who was so persistent and determined to find an antidote for poison. He then walked out of the room, his right hand carrying a torch to light the way.

After circling around for quite a while, Tan'er returned to the room where his master was with a small mouse. This was the last mouse he was able to give up because the night was already very late and the entire residence was already asleep.

"Successful!"

Shen Yanzhia cheered as the last mouse she used managed to survive and survive. His efforts depleted so much of the herbaceous ingredients and killing dozens of white mice was not in vain! Shen Yanzhia was like obtaining a treasure that was more precious than three thousand taels of gold!

Prince Qin's wife stuffed the sample of her latest bidder concoction into a small, light green medicine bottle, made of high-quality clay gilded with other ingredients. The bottle has a high density level so it is not easily broken.

When all the bidders had already entered the bottle, Shen Yanzhia then walked out of the room that she had not left in a day and night. He was about to meet Lin Zian and tell him that he had managed to find and make an antidote to the Blue Grass poison, so that they could immediately give it to Ru Xiaolan. The sooner it is given, the better it will be.

The residence is very quiet. The garden lights were partially extinguished because the snow that fell this afternoon was too much so that some wet the lights so that they could not light the fire. Shen Yanzhia tightened her hairy robes. Winter is entering its second week.

The East Pavilion where Lin Zian was located looked still bright. Lin Zian might not have slept yet. Suddenly there was guilt in Shen Yanzhia's heart because she did not see her husband one day, ask him about it or just say hello to him. The man did not come looking for her either.

Shen Yanzhia was fixated where she stood, her eyes straight looking forward, at someone sitting listlessly on the study table. For some reason, that worry suddenly surfaced from within his heart. Without closing the door first, Shen Yanzhia ran towards that person with an anxious face. His feet almost hit the table.

"Wangfei.." said Lin Zian weakly.

"What happened to you?"

Lin Zian did not answer. His eyes closed tightly. Shen Yanzhia leaned her head against his shoulder then patted Lin Zian's cheek for the person to open his eyes again. Shen Yanzhia became even more anxious when she touched Lin Zian's forehead. His body temperature is very cold. Lin Zian's lips began to turn blue and his handsome face turned pale.

"Zian, wake! I've found the antidote to the Blue Grass poison. Zian, up! You heard me, didn't you?"

Shen Yanzhia was struck by overwhelming anxiety and worry. He took off his hairy robe and slid it into Lin Zian's body, hoping that his temperature would warm up a little. The snow outside had already dropped back, and the air temperature had become increasingly cold. Shen Yanzhia rubbed both of her palms then held onto Lin Zian's hand.

But, the man was not willing to wake up at all!

The immense fear made Shen Yanzhia unable to think clearly. Her tears began to flow like a river. In the middle of the night, how could there be no one to look after him? Did those servants get tired of living to the point of abandoning a prince?

"Someone, please! Help me!"

Shen Yanzhia shouted very loudly. His voice boomed like lightning in this cold and silent snowfall. He shouted again, again, and again many times until his voice was hoarse. No one woke up and heard it.

Shen Yanzhia decided to help Lin Zian alone. Teetering, he carried Lin Zian's body onto the bed, laid him down and wrapped him in two layers of blankets. His face still displayed great anxiety and fear, as well as hiding a huge question mark. What the hell is going on?

"Foolish servant, I will make you pay a heavy price for this treatment!"
