The Figure In My Bed

The Figure In My Bed
Chapter 2 Dormitory

"Mother wants to be TKW abroad?" I rounded my eyes of disbelief when I heard the shocking statement from my mother's mouth.

The woman stroked the strands of my hair, a clear-cut look stuck in the corner of her eye, she kept smiling to calm me down.

"Yes, kid. Mother is forced to go to improve our fate, it seems like Mother's decision has been unanimous to divorce from your father. Therefore, Mommy must have a job that makes enough money to be able to send you as high as possible, Mommy does all this for you. Later Mommy will definitely return, you do not have to worry," he said now stroking my cheeks that had begun to get wet.

I shook my head quickly while touching my mother's palm on my cheek. Kissing him repeatedly, as if unwilling to hear if he would go far away from me.

"Who are Mutia with? Mutia does not want to be with Dad," I said softly.

"No, Son. Mommy won't leave you to Dad. Mother will enter you to the boarding school in the area where Grandma lives. Mother hope you will, for your good, for our future!" abugn.

I thought for a moment, there is a doubt in my heart to stay in a dorm. But come to think of it, maybe that's the best way for me instead of having to go with dad.

***

Before Mother left for the TKW shelter foundation, she first drove me to a boarding school in one of the areas.

He did not leave me to grandma because at home grandma already there is a child from Om Fahri who was also entrusted there. Mommy does not want to trouble grandma by leaving me there too, although grandma does not mind but mother prefers to leave me in the dorm. For the reason that it would be safer because then you can't meet me in that dormitory.

Said the Mother of the dorm that I will occupy later is very strict, no one can go in and out except with the permission of the parents who registered the child to the dormitory. Even though it was my own father, Mother seemed to have warned the dormitory so as not to meet me with my father if one day father visited there.

Stayed overnight at grandma's house, then once in the morning my mother and I immediately came to the dormitory in question.

It seemed that the dormitory was far from urban even being in a slightly secluded place. My mother and I used the ojek service to get there.

In a short time, I arrived in front of a dorm. Immediately my mother and I got down and paid the fare of the motorcycle we rented.

My gaze circled around while in front of the dormitory gate. During the day the dormitory looks very quiet and the building looks old. A rusty iron gate and a spacious courtyard with various tall trees inside.

"Come on!" invite mother to disperse my daydreams that are observing around.

I nodded slowly, then followed my step. The sound of iron friction rang out when the mother opened the old gate which was about two meters high.

The situation still felt quiet and desolate, there were no signs of life that I had caught from outside the dormitory. Shouldn't this place be crowded by the students and students who live here? But why is it so quiet as uninhabited?

Instantly appeared old man with a white beard not so long approached the two of us.

"Good day ma'am" said the old man kindly.

Looking at it like a gardener or maybe a school keeper here, I thought.

"Piang. I want to meet with the principal here, my son just happened to want to enter this school," said Mother to the point.

The old man took a quick glance at me, his gaze was a little strange and made me uncomfortable. Immediately I held the hand of the woman beside me firmly, a sign that I was afraid to see a stranger in front of us.

It seems that Mother understands my point. Even that man seemed to know that I was scared by him right now. The man immediately turned his eyes to the mother with a smile.

"Let me deliver!" The man reached out his hand, allowing us to first step towards the main door of the dormitory.

We walked towards one of the rooms with the headmaster's room on its doorstep. The old man knocked on the door and soon someone appeared from inside. Staring at us one by one in turn.

A lady dressed in official service with eyes framed by thick lenses stared at our wonder especially me and mother.

"Mom, someone wants to meet Mom. He said the boy wanted to go to school here" the old man explained to the woman who was thought to be the Headmaster of the dormitory.

"Come in! Mang Yana, thank you for bringing them here" the woman told the old man.

It turned out that the name of the man was Mang Yana, it seemed that it was true that he was the school guard here, my inner self.

Mommy and I also entered a classic-style room in which there are several chairs provided to receive guests, one table and a work chair on the other side, a closet filled with thick books, two photos displayed on one wall is a photo of the President and his deputy, a picture of the Garuda bird between the two photos, and the photo, and a red and white flag on the corner of the work chair.

My eyes wandered to every side, with no one spared from the sweep of my eyes. We were welcome to sit on a wooden chair with a black seat consisting of one single seat and another larger in size, and I sat there with Mother. While the Headmaster sat in a single chair opposite me and mother. A table becomes a barrier between us.

Mother expressed her intention and purpose to come here, which was none other than to enroll me into this school.

Previously mother had time to communicate by phone with the principal, after finding the address of this school from the internet and registering online.

It seems that I was immediately accepted there and will be given a room immediately. Today I will also start living in this dormitory

"Mutia Wardhana, a pretty name like her son. Hope you feel right here!" The woman developed a smile after reading the documents I brought from the old school to my new school.

"Yes, Mom ... "

"Bu Ine, just call Ms. Ine. The kids here call me that" he said, still smiling.

"Yes, Mrs Ine" I said.

"Then let me take you to your room" said Bu Ine rising from her seat.

We also walked through several corridors. Turns out this hostel isn't as bad as I thought it was. From a distance I saw many children who were exercising in the field in the middle of this building. It is only fitting that I did not find any children in the yard, because indeed the guard in this place is so tight that no one student can go out without the permission of the teacher.

Our steps stopped at a room door on the second floor of the dormitory building. The last room in the corridor.

My eyes were still on seeing the many room doors lined up along the corridor.

Ms. Ine opened the door to the room I was going to occupy later.

Krieeets

The sound of the bedroom door rang out a little creepy. But I tried to shake off that strange feeling, especially when this leg started to step into the room. A multi-storey bed was in the corner of the room, an old cupboard stood opposite it and a nightstand beside it. Not so broad but enough to occupy two students.

The cold immediately greeted, making the nape goosebumps just like that, it felt strange because something like this I had never felt before. I tried repeatedly to shake him off but the feeling seemed reluctant to go away.

"Who am I in the room, Mom?" I try to divert this strange feeling.

"on its own. But take it easy, next to your room there are many friends sleeping there. Only this room was empty and still worthy of occupancy. The others have begun to decay and are still in the renovation stage," explained the woman made me doubt also surprised.
