Valen slammed his ass in the front porch. His bead stared at the pitch-black sky without the stars or moon adorning it. He looked as gloomy and empty as he was. Valen breathed a tired sigh. Her brother's 40-day event had just finished at his residence. Everything felt heavy for him to go through. Valen thought the heartbreaking sequence of events in his life was just a dream and would end if he woke up in the morning. In fact, all of that was real that he had to go through and face. Valen knew that all living things would die. No exception to her brother. His death came tragically. Valen must be sincere because that is the way. The one who is gone let go and the one left behind must continue on his life journey again.
A pat on his shoulder made him turn from his daydream. "Len, I'm back, yeah. Do not hesitate to ask for help if you need something. I'm always there for you."
Valen danced his lips slightly, trying to smile despite the weight. "Thanks, Bi. I've taken care of you so much. Thanks for the massage too. I'll be fine, change it."
Bianca clucking. "I told you not to be repaid, I want to help you. Udah ah, I turned," he said while looking at the circular watch fitting on his right arm. "Gue wants to work too." Added again. Valen nodded, then Bianca turned around and walked away from Valen.
"Bi!" Call Valen who made Bianca's footsteps stop, then turn to look at the person who called her.
Valen was silent for a moment, his face he looked down at the white ceramic yam as if in doubt with the sentence he wanted to throw in a moment.
Bianca's eyebrows shrivel. The woman was confused because her best friend was silent. In the end Bianca asked, "Why?"
Valen let out a heavy sigh, then raised his gaze to look at the person standing not far from him. "There's work at your place, Bi? If I have it, I want to dong."
Bianca looked shocked at Valen's words. Instead of answering Valen's words, he took his foot forward, approached Valen, and sat down next to Valen.
Bianca took a breath. He had not expected to hear such a request from Valen. "What about your current workplace?"
"Yes, not pa-pa, I want to make some extra money. You know, I have dependents now. If my salary in Indomaret is enough. After all work at this lo malem place," Valen explained.
Bianca nodded in understanding. "I can't, Len. Eem, it's not that I don't want to take a job at work, Len. Do you know what I do? Work where I am, much less good, than good. Moreover, work at my place for people who are not ordinary with noise it must make dizziness and many more that do not make you comfortable working there."
Valen took a deep breath, and his gaze stared at the night sky. "Yes, I haven't tried yet, Bi. You have made a rich conclusion to me. I beg you, this time I am looking for additional work for me. I swear I don't feel good always pinjem money lo mulu."
Bianca extended her hand, rubbing Valen's back gently. "Yes, Len, don't think about it while I can help. So, you don't have to feel bad about me."
Bianca sighed, silent for a moment. Thinking what his best friend said was true, then he pulled the corners of his lips high. Bianca smiled, then patted that back gently. "Okay, if your decision is unanimous. I'll find a job at my place."
Upon hearing that Valen smiled then spread out his hands. Bianca, who knew it, did the same thing, and they both hugged. In that embrace Valen said, "Thank you, Bi. I've been getting rid of lo mulu, lately."
Bianca shook her head in disapproval of Valen's words. "Gue's supposed to thank you to you, Len. When people stay away from me because of my work and the crazy things I do, you stay by my side without demeaning me or judging me. Nor have you ever given another rich advice." Bianca took a deep breath as she closed her eyes as the stupid things she had done flashed through her memory like a tangled, broken cassette. Bianca hugged Valen even tighter. While Valen just smiled without wanting to reply.
"Then I'm back." Bianca let go of her embrace and then let out her thin smile. "Lo mending sleeping gih, rest. Your eye bags, already a very rich item panda." Valen nodded in response.
"Be careful, Bi. Inget if there's a cute guy asking for acquaintances don't load ladenin or you take it home." Valen's message was serious which made Bianca chuckle in her footsteps.
When everything was back to being quiet. Valen heard someone open the door of the house, the floor walked up to him and sat down beside him. Valen turned his head, a second later he smiled. "So aren't you asleep?"
Dwi smiles. "Abis from here brother sleeps. Have you eaten?"
Valen shook his head. "Not yet."
"You want to make food?"
"No need to brother, I'm easy, then just buy fried rice in front there. Have you eaten yet? Or do you want to eat something? Later I buyin," asked Valen with his gaze simultaneously staring at the person next to him with lips he lifted both corners.
Dwi smiled and shook her head. "No, I didn't need to eat that. I don't want anything either." Dwi lowered her face. "I'm sorry, now you're a burden. If you have parents or family, you will not take care of you or become a burden for you rich now." The sentence ends with tears falling across the cheek. Her chest is so tight. There was no word he could describe how he was right now. It is all so sad how the one he loves goes for ever without any proper farewell. What Dwi understands now is, appreciate the time. Because in the end the greatest gift given by time is memory.
Valen who saw that just got up from his seat. Walk up to Dwi and hold it. In that embrace Valen spoke in a quivering tone, "Sister is not a burden to me. So, please, big brother don't talk rich anymore or consider yourself a burden for me. We're family, brother." In every sentence he threw himself desperately held back the cry. And in the end tonight is still the same as the previous nights. We are still crying over the person who went home with a very bitter cry.
