The Cottage of In-Law Tak Indah
The Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome

The night ....

Giselle and Gibran spoke so seriously about the presence of a baby. Indeed they did not delay, nor did they have any contraception, but perhaps God had not entrusted the offspring to him. At least a request from Miss Rosa, got Giselle to mind.

"Mas, you've been thinking unrelated for the past 12 months and I'm not pregnant yet?" ask Giselle later.

"Yes, pretty thoughtful. I just don't want to think too much. I am in case that the problem of the child is not only a couple's effort, but because of the sustenance of God as well. In addition, one year of marriage can be said to have just been, Yang," replied Gibran.

What Gibran said was not because of thoughtlessness. However, Gibran feels one year married is still fairly new. There is also an opinion that the child is a gift from God. If it is not trusted, it means it is not time for the two of them to become prospective new parents.

"Sometimes, too, Mas .., but I've asked for a grandchild. So, how'd it go, Mas?"

"You wanna check, honey? Just have a health check first. Check our fertility both. Wanna?"

Gibran offered to do a fertility check first. Just checking it out. Although in the end it depends on both of them who will plan and make the next decision.

"Yes, check it out, Mom. When's check?" ask Giselle.

"Tomorrow, Yang. Tomorrow is a holiday. We can go to the Obstetrician first."

All right, Giselle took good advice from her husband. At least to check fertility first. However, it is in Giselle's mind whether she is related to not being able to get pregnant because of her weight that reaches 90 kilograms. With a fat weight, of course the fat content in his body is also a lot. Therefore, Giselle had guessed so. Hopefully, there are no serious problems related to fertility.

The next day ....

In the afternoon, Gibran and Giselle say goodbye to their mother to go to the Obstetrician first. In addition, Gibran also said that he did not know what time he would be home, depending on the queue at the Clinic later. As if Gibran also asked for understanding from his mother if indeed they will go home tonight.

Now, Gibran and Giselle are waiting at the clinic. Wait until their queue number is called later. Giselle looked at the couple who also came to check their content. For Giselle who is not pregnant, seeing a woman who is two-bodied is happiness. How can a woman's stomach expand and there is also a baby in her womb.

For more than half an hour they waited for Giselle's name to be called. Then the two entered Doctor Nuri's room for examination and consultation.

"Hello, good night. Whose mother is this with?" ask the doctor kindly.

"Night Doctor, meet me Giselle. We're here for a preliminary checkup. Look Doctor, we've been married for a year, and we haven't been trusted to get any offspring. So, want to check on that," explains Giselle.

Doctor Nuri nodded his head. Understanding the direction of Giselle's conversation. However, actually also one year of marriage can be said not too long.

"Mom and Dad, what do you want to get pregnant?" ask Dr. Nuri again.

After that, Doctor Nuri invited Giselle to ride the gurney. There was a midwife who helped to take down the pants that Giselle was wearing and put a Gell ultrasound on her stomach. Then Doctor Nuri prepared with the Ultrasound Transducer in her hand. Started checking on Giselle's uterus.

"Well this is the condition of Giselle's mother's womb well, actually her uterus. No fibroids and other diseases. However, we'll do another check, ma'am."

Start the blinds on the lid and then there's a special check for Giselle. Afterwards, Giselle is welcome to sit down and the doctor will explain the results.

"There are two triggering factors for Ms. Giselle to not become pregnant first due to obesity or weight gain. Obese people can be difficult to get pregnant because of the amount of fat in the body. Higher fat levels can cause many estrogen hormones to form. Second is because of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or usually called PCOS."

Hearing the explanation from Doctor Nuri of course Gibran and Giselle were both shocked. Not expecting because the cause of Giselle has not been able to get pregnant because there are problems in the growth.

"PCOS, Doctor?" ask Giselle.

"True Miss Giselle. PCOS is a disorder of fertility problems, usually due to an excess of androgen hormones in the body. Excess androgen hormones make the ovaries or ovaries filled with fluid so that they cannot be fertilized. Eggs cannot grow either. PCOS conditions that are not treated properly can make women difficult to get pregnant," explained Dr. Nuri.

Giselle listened to Doctor Nuri's explanation and then began to ask."Can it be cured, Doc?" tanyakanya.

"Can Ma'am, with a healthy life, lose weight, and there are drugs that are routinely consumed. However, advice from me, Ms. Giselle focus on losing her weight first."

Hearing the advice of the Doctor, Giselle nodded. Now, then he remembered the struggle of his former brother-in-law who used to be so fat, finally trying to diet. This means that Giselle has to change her lifestyle and lose weight.

"I recommend not to go on an extreme diet huh, Ms. Giselle. Can be diligent in exercise, consumption of water at least eight glasses every day, and eating fruits and vegetables," explained Dr. Nuri.

"Good Doctor," replied Giselle.

Then Doctor Nuri asked Giselle again. "Want a diet accompanied or not Miss Giselle. If you want to be accompanied by a nutritionist later," explained Dr. Nuri.

"In the meantime, be independent, Doctor. However, if here is his mentor I can consider. I also work full time. So for sports and so on must adjust, Doctor."

Doctor Nuri nodded his head. "There's Miss Giselle. Please later meet with Mbak Kartika who can be invited to chat and accompany for a healthy diet and exercise" explained Dr. Nuri.

The examination is over, and Giselle and Gibran are now back at home. Over dinner, they just arrived home. There was already Miss Rosa waiting for him outside the house.

"Where are the results?" ask Miss Rosa. Neither Gibran nor Giselle gave an answer. Rosa asked again. "Who's in trouble? Giselle, right?"

The question from Ms. Rosa seems to be a condition of accusation. For a woman it is not easy to accept the deficiencies and fertility problems that she is facing now. However, it was Miss Rosa who accused Giselle of being unwell here.

Giselle took a long breath. In what other way he should be able to be patient to be on one roof with his in-laws. He needs support, he needs affection, not this kind of goal-based question.
