THE BARA OF THE PAST

THE BARA OF THE PAST
Finale

Sudarsih continued to cry bitterly beside Nerwani who was in the hospital. Luckily Sudarsih immediately asked for help from local residents, until they called an online taxi and drove Sudarsih to the hospital.

“Why should it end like this, Nduk? Nerwani, why are you doing something stupid like this?” Sudarsih continued to hold Nerwani's hand.

Nerwani had given up hope and wanted to end his life, but it turned out that God still gave him a chance to breathe.

“Asep and Marcela were arrested by the police, now you also want to end your life, what are the sins that must be borne by our family? Why did it all end like this?” Tangis Sudarsih also did not subside.

Nerwani tried to move his fingers, even though with a very hard effort, the fingers seemed to be fixated without being able to move anymore.

While in a different hospital, Baskoro is also increasingly critical. Devano and Liodra wait for Baskoro. The two of them could only meet without speaking anything.

The Dewanti waiting for Liodra came home impatiently because Liodra did not answer his phone call. The woman went to the hospital with her husband. Liodra gasped in shock at the presence of his mother.

“Ma!” Liodra splashed into Dewanti's arms. Baskoro's eyes were open. He looked around. How surprised he was when he saw Dewanti who was in front of him.

“De-wan-ti,” whispered Baskoro down.

Dewanti nodded her head. “I never imagined meeting you under these circumstances, Baskoro.” The Dewanti could not help her raging heart. Destiny is not on their side.

“She's your daughter,” Dewanti said as she turned to Liodra. Baskoro gasped in surprise when he saw the beautiful girl whose eyes resembled her.

“Liodra, his name is Liodra, our son.” Dewanti raised her voice because Baskoro was still in disbelief. Liodra approached Baskoro, he looked into both my eyes and was helpless. The eyes that had previously shimmered, then slowly became wet with tears.

“Papa,” says Liodra says. After all he missed these moments of meeting like this all his life, meeting his biological father. Liodra hugged Baskoro tightly.

“My daughter, you are my daughter, forgive papa, son,” sobs Baskoro unstoppable again. The man really did not expect at the end of his age, he could meet his biological daughter who had been looking for and never found.

Liodra immediately noticed a pair of eyes that were staring at them. Devano wanted to leave, but Liodra immediately called out to him.

“Kak Devano, come here, meet papa!”

Devano stopped his steps, Liodra gestured for Devano to approach.

“Devano!”

A voice made Devano immediately turn towards the door.

“Mother,” whispered Devano down.

Eva approached her son. Eva had been asking Ridwan for days to find out about Devano's news, because she could not contact her son. Devano did not have time to charge his phone. This morning when his phone was charged, he received a lot of messages from his uncle. Devano immediately recounted everything that happened to Ridwan.

Eva immediately entered and approached Baskoro whose face was turning pale to see Eva.

“E-va,” greet Baskoro in a soft voice. Eva shook her head to look at Baskoro. The woman could say nothing but cry shedding her sorrow.

“Pardon .. I, Eva.” Baskoro's weak voice still rang out in Eva's ears as if to recall her apology twenty-seven years ago.

“I'm sorry I had to go to town to continue my studies, Eva.”

Ridwan approached his brother, rubbing his shoulders slowly. “Strong yourself, tell the truth,” whispered Ridwan. The man pulled Devano's hand to get close to Baskoro.

“He's your son, Devano,” Eva said trying to strengthen her heart. Baskoro was increasingly powerless to hold back his sobs. His hand held onto his left chest which was getting tighter.

“Why didn't you tell me, Eva? I don't know anything, you moved to Bandung without saying goodbye. Ah, I'm a coward. I haven't been able to go home in a long time because Mom banned me.”

Baskoro recalled the time he said he wanted to go home, but his mother never allowed it. His mother who was willing to come to him every month, even in the end they moved to Jakarta.

“Papa happy ... for being able to see both of you. At least ... This is the most beautiful gift before papa goes.” Baskoro regulated his breathing. Slowly the man tried to get up, Devano helped him.

“Papa wants to lean in here for a while. Devano and Liodra, papa is really sorry for everything that happened. Also to Dewanti and Eva, forgive my mistakes that you may not deserve to forgive this.” Baskoro's breathing gasps.

Dewanti only lowered her face, while Eva was still trying to ease her cries. All those who gathered in the room understood, Baskoro's condition was getting weaker.

Liodra sobbed, Devano also shed tears. A meeting he never thought would be like this. Throw away all the anger that had settled in his chest.

“Asep, I don't know what sin I have done to him, so he could do like this to me,” continued Baskoro when remembering the treatment of assistants who he strongly believed turned out to be betrayal.

“Do not think again, Pa. Asep was arrested with his son, Marcela. Poor actually, even though Bu Nerwani is seriously ill.” Liodra calms Baskoro.

“Nerwani?” Baskoro looked at Liodra. “Nerwani ..” Baskoro did not continue his words.

“It looks like Asep took a grudge against papa, so he and Marcela tried to bring me and Devano down in many ways.”

This time Baskoro was unable to say anything more. His curiosity has now been answered. Asep, Nerwani and Marcela. The name is like a round of memory that brings Baskoro back to the sin he committed decades ago.

Silent in the room, no one spoke because each person was busy with his own thoughts. They did not realize that Baskoro's breathing was getting weaker, until Baskoro's eyes closed forever.

Three months later.

Liodra was preparing to attend the wedding. Her pretty face is radiant. Ryo looked at him without blinking.

“Jelek, yes, my shirt? Why are you snacking like that, anyway?” Liodra misbehaved because of Ryo's gaze which made his breathing even more tight.

“You are beautiful, my wife.” Ryo stole a kiss on his wife's forehead. They got married a month ago, and tonight they're going to attend Devano and Zara's wedding.

“Liodra, thank you for giving us the opportunity to live in this household.” Ryo hugged his wife warmly.

From day to day, his love for Liodra grew more and more. And vice versa. Liodra began the marriage with one embedded intention. Accept each other's shortcomings, and work together to complement each other.

“I must thank you for the opportunity to find myself again, after a long time slumped in sadness.”

Liodra smiled happily. It turned out that the choice was not wrong, even though he used to feel too fast breeding. Ryo came to fill his heart intact, not just need.

Sudarsih was meeting Marcela in custody. The elderly woman delivered a letter written by Nerwani. Sudarsih found the letter by accident while cleaning Nerwani's clothes, after his son died one month ago.

‘Marcela, forgive mom for never having the guts to tell this truth. When the opportunity arises, go ... go all the way from Asep, he will only be the cause of your grief, son. You are not his biological son, because your biological father is Baskoro.’

Marcela repeated the reading and squeezed the paper into small pieces. With a slanted smile, Marcela returned into her cell leaving Sudarsih in confusion. Not long before the sound of long screams from Marcela's cell.
