THE BARA OF THE PAST

THE BARA OF THE PAST
Imprisoned Memory of the Past

Marcela ran over to her mother who was like a convulsing person in a wheelchair. This was the first movement response after all these years her mother could only lie on a bed and sit in a wheelchair.

"Mother! Mother why?" ela asked while crouching in front of her mother.

His hands hold the wheels on the left and right sides of the wheelchair. Nerwani wanted to say something. His mouth was murmuring indistinctly. His body tried to thrash but his strength was not strong enough to resist.

"Silence, Mom. I'm safe, nothing else will bother us." Ela hugged her mother, grabbed the head of the woman she loved and kissed her slowly. Nerwani calmed down.

"Mom's been with Ela and grandma. There's nothing to worry about anymore. Ela and Dad have it all set up. Soon the Setyadi Baskoro family will go bankrupt. Isn't that what you wanted?" whispered Ela softly.

Nerwani did not react. Empty views. His right hand bent leaning against Ela's chest, while his left hand bent half-narrowing his chest. Both hands are hard to move. The right hand is not as bad as the left hand that can only be bent can not be straightened.

His greatest hope was to avenge the heartache of the insults of Dewi Murtiningsih Baskoro's mother. The blue-blooded woman had the heart to destroy her soul in order to uphold her son's pride.

After her marriage to Asep Suratman, Nerwani thought her life would soon improve. It turns out far from the fire from the roast. Asep opens a new door for her to enter the world of covert prostitution that offers one night of warmth.

Nerwani forgets one thing, in the past, as beautiful as it would be a bad thing if it came back over and settled in it. Now he's like he's stuck in a drowning memory.

"This week there was a meeting with prospective buyers of Baskoro's house, Ma'am. With the selling price below the market, Ela was sure this buyer would agree." Ela spoke softly to her mother.

"Ela, you don't understand why we have to move out of the old house? The house was bought by your mother from her hard work" asked Sudarsih.

The white-haired woman never knew what Nerwani's job was. To his mother Nerwani just told me about opening a cake shop business. The store did exist because Nerwani bought it at a cheap price from someone who was in need of money. The shop was just a guise to hide Nerwani's true profession.

"We're staying here only temporarily, Grandma. Let's just say mom needs to change the mood. We'll soon be occupying a bigger house."

Sudarsih was silent at the words of his grandson. Ever since Ela grew up, her attitude was more like Nerwani's. She grew into a girl who could not be prevented by her wishes.

After his marriage to Asep Suratman, Nerwani came home less and less. Her daughter said she had opened a cake shop in several locations. Asep has three dollars. For Sudarsih who has eaten a lot of life's salt acid, the Nerwani household looks strange.

Her daughter only looks happy on the outside but fragile on the inside. When asked why Asep rarely came home, Nerwani's answer was always the same. Asep is taking care of a cake shop that is getting bigger and opening many branches.

"Grandmother is worried that you will get into a lot of trouble if you do not immediately get rid of grudges to the Baskoro family. From the very beginning your mother knew Baskoro, her life was full of problems. Grandma wants us to live quietly. Never mind, son, forget the Baskoro family. Look at your mother's condition now. Too blind in his desire to avenge heartache. Finally your mother became like this," said Sudarsih advising his only grandson.

"If there wasn't an accident, I wouldn't be. That witch's grandmother wretched me, Grandma. Baskoro Setyadi's family must accept his reply to his mother" Ela said. The shady can only take a deep breath. Seeing Ela now felt like seeing her daughter twenty years ago.

***

Devano, Zara and Surya Winardi with their driver to Bogor. A place was agreed as a meeting location to discuss white house buying and selling transactions.

Along the way Devano was restless. Mind branching. Until now, it is not known the existence of Ryo Liodra's future husband. There was no way Devano would tell Liodra that he would soon meet with Baskoro. Liodra's load is too heavy. Unfortunately, Devano could do nothing. He recalled his conversation with Sashi this morning on WhatsApp.

[Don't forget to tell me as little news as you know, Sashi. I'll meet Baskoro today]

[Surely Dev. I'm also worried about Liodra. We talked last night and he looked tough. Liodra is now much stronger than we imagined.]

Devano was relieved to hear from Sashi. Liodra is fine. Now he began to get used to accepting Liodra and treating her like a sister, although Liodra himself could not accept.

Zara understood the anxiety of her lover. He held Devano's hand trying to give him strength. In a situation like this Devano must be confused.

Zara herself was busy guessing how Baskoro would react if she found out she had a boy who was this big. The twisting path made several times their bodies touched to cause a fine glow in the chest of both.

"We've arrived at the location. Devano are you ready?" surya asked as he looked at Devano from the rearview mirror to the right of his head. Devano. Honestly, his feelings raged.

"Papa will introduce you as an employee, one office with Zara. Remember you're only here to see your father, not to find trouble."

"Good, Pa." Devano got out of the car and tidied up his clothes. The three of them climbed the stone stairs. The intended house is located on a slightly elevated plain. Many large trees grow in the yard.

"Good day, Mr. Surya. Let's please. Mr. Baskoro is waiting for the father's arrival."

A man who was the same age as Surya greeted him kindly. The thick-moustached man wears a short-sleeved shirt that is inserted into cloth pants. Her neat appearance, the black hair of the drizzle showed this man was no ordinary person.

"Sir Cecep, he's Mr. Baskoro's confidant" whispered Zara as if she could read his mind.

"Let's go straight in, please" Cecep invited after they passed through the pavilion-like building. "That's what you've been waiting for."

Devano spontaneously looked in the direction Cecep pointed. A white-haired man was partially sitting on a wooden chair. The man grabbed the stick beside the chair and tried to stand up to welcome his guest. The man was wearing a grey sweater and a black scarf hung around his neck.

Devano's heart beats faster. The man was Baskoro Setyadi. Devano looked at him. Baskoro seemed to bewitched for a few seconds to see a young boy who looked like himself. For a moment he held onto his left chest which suddenly felt pain.

"Sit down." Cecep quickly held onto Baskoro's shoulder and sat him down slowly into the chair.

"I'm Surya, this is my daughter Zara and her co-worker Devano. I'll buy Mr. Baskoro's house if we agree today."

Baskoro looked at Zara and Devano alternately. There's a pain slicing his chest.

"Devano and Zara are similar to my son who now lives in Germany, Mr. Surya."

Devano's right hand clenched under the table. Zara who saw that immediately clasped Devano's hand.

"What a coincidence, Mr Baskoro's son is a boy and a girl?" surya asked in curiosity.

"They had a life of their own with their mother. They haven't been home here in a long time. Seeing Devano I was like seeing the King. My son whose name is King, whose woman is Queen." Once again Baskoro looked at Devano who immediately lowered his face.

I don't know what's on Devano's mind. Now he only saw a lonely old man.

Baskoro's view was not the view of a male lion as he had imagined. The look in the eyes was also not like Don Juan who could sleep dozens of women in one night. In front of him was now only a weak lion without strength.

Cecep served drinks at the table. Before leaving quietly he aimed his cell phone camera at the living room. A picture he sent to someone. A moment later the message was answered.

[Bad! Why is Devano there? Dad, don't let Baskoro know Devano's son! Our plans can fall apart!]
