"Hi, Gizta!" Saskia greeting when Gizta and Diftha just arrived at the hospital.
"Sa-ma-" chirped Gizta suddenly as the girl looked at the color of her hijab which happened to be the same as the one worn by Saskia.
"Oh, yes!"
"Kok can equal her hijab, huh?" Saskia immediately chuckled and slightly justified the pashmina hijab worn by Gizta.
"Wear it yourself?" Saskia asked a little pleasantries.
"Mbak-I-da-" replied Gizta.
"Help Mother Ida wear it because Gizta can not use it alone," said Diftha help explain the purpose of Gizta's answer.
"Oh!"
"Let's see!" Saskia then examined both hands of Gizta and performed several small tests.
"One year ago Gizta's hand of grasshopper could move a lot and still have trouble holding objects as well. But after being routinely treated by Shara, there's been a lot of progress."
"Can you tell me about any progress?" Saskia asked as she looked at Diftha.
"Gizta has started to be able to draw and eat by herself" replied Diftha as she rubbed the head of Gizta covered in baby pink pashmina. Exactly the same as that worn by Saskia.
"Later we will do a series of checks at the beginning, to determine what the right actions we will do to Gizta," explained Saskia then who immediately made Diftha nodded but hesitated a little.
"Please sit down, Diftha!" Saskia then pointed to the chair in front of her.
Diftha wasted no time and immediately sat down on the chair that Saskia had appointed.
"So I met the Ocean, and he said that Fia had actually given me contact with you long ago" Saskia paused her sentence because Diftha looked confused.
"Doctor Sam," said Saskia quickly who immediately made Diftha nod.
"He's the one who handled Gizta before, right?" Saskia made sure again.
"Yes!" Diftha nodded quickly.
"So said the Ocean Doctor, he has long since given my contact to you so that you can consult before I move here."
"But you never called me" Saskia asked.
"I'm afraid" replied Diftha, grimacing.
"And again I think, the cost I collected for Gizta's operation later was not enough. So I wait until the cost is quite old and I'll call you," said Diftha then revealed his plan.
"Do you know how much it costs?" Saskia's a little sloppy.
"Just guess." Diftha was back grimacing.
"But I'd be very grateful if you'd tell me the details of the cost instead of me having to ask the hospital administration" Diftha said.
"The cost is still uncertain because we need to do a screening first on Gizta, Diftha!"
"And again the brain injury of each patient is never the same, so I might just be able to give you an idea of the range of costs you need to prepare for first," knock Saskia out while pulling out paper and pen onto the table.
"I'm sure it's a three-digit number" Diftha guessed, sighing as if she was groggy.
"Let's help me talk to the hospital so you can pay the fee" Saskia promised, laughing. The girl's hand then shrewdly wrote down a row of numbers on the paper, before then showing it to Diftha.
"Astagfirullahhal'adhim!" Diftha immediately nodded as she rubbed her face, after the man read a row of numbers written by Saskia.
"This is just an estimate, Diftha! It could be less than this. So don't get too dizzy" said Saskia who hastily calmed Diftha.
"It could still mean less could it be more too?" Diftha is back pessimistic.
"Let's help me talk to the hospital about all the costs. The most important thing now is to make the best effort for Gizta," again Saskia's advice still tries to calm Diftha.
"Yes!"
"But maybe I will only be able to pay the advance," Diftha continued with an unconvinced look.
"Don't worry about the down payment on the cost of Gizta's treatment. Because twenty-five percent of the numbers I've written, they've been paid for by someone..." Saskia stared motionlessly at Diftha who immediately frowned in confusion.
"Don't tell me you're-"
"Not me!" Saskia refuted quickly while taking out a small book from the desk drawer.
"You can read it yourself" Saskia said later, handing the book to Diftha.
Diftha read the front cover of the book in her hand that read a name,
"Yeshara Vanna Faubel"
"Shara?" Gumam Diftha slowly.
"Yes! It was Shara's long name" Saskia replied telling Diftha.
Diftha then opened the small book in which there are boxes containing numbers and have been crossed.
Then at the top there is writing thickened with stabillo.
"Savings for operation Gizta."
Diftha was stunned for a moment, before then her hand moved to open the next page containing boxes inscribed with numbers as well. Almost every page in this book contains the same thing.
"Hopefully Gizta can be handled by Kak Kia."
"It will cost you nothing. I hope my savings can be collected soon."
"Let's help with the cost-issue"
"Absolutely not troublesome because to me, Gizta is also my sister."
"That's all the money that Shara has collected to support Gizta's operating expenses." Saskia's words immediately disperse Diftha's daydream.
"Shara loves Gizta so much, Dift! So you have to appreciate it," said Saskia again who immediately made Diftha nod.
"Shara always thought of Gizta as her sister..." Diftha glared slightly before then staring again at Shara's notebook that was still in her hands.
"Thank you, Shara! May your kindness be recompensed directly from God" murmured Diftha and prayed for Shara.
****
Diftha had just opened the door of Gizta's treatment room, when a melodious voice came from someone who seemed to be reading the Qur'an in the room.
Diftha immediately threw her gaze towards someone in a maroon hijab who was now sitting next to the Gizta treatment bed.
Yes, two days ago Gizta had just finished having surgery on her head and was also conscious. But Saskia said Gizta still had to be hospitalized for post-surgery recovery.
"Shadaqallahul'adzim" said Saskia, who had apparently finished reading the Qur'an. The girl then turned to Diftha who was still staring near the entrance.
"Home home, Diftha?" Say Saskia, while putting the Qur'an in her bag.
"Yes!" Diftha finally approached Saskia.
"I just finished the practice and stopped by here to see the condition of Gizta."
"He was up and talking for a while, said Mother Ida," Saskia told Diftha.
"Where is Ida?" Ask Diftha who did not find the nurse Gizta in the room.
"Going to the cafeteria to buy food," Saskia replied as she grabbed her bag.
"Oh, yeah. Anyway, Uncle--"
"I mean Doctor Faris wants to talk to you. He told you to meet him earlier" said Saskia then who immediately made Diftha frown a little.
Dr Faris is a senior neurosurgeon who Saskia introduced to Diftha a few days ago. Dr. Faris also led the Gizta operation. Saskia said Dr Faris was one of the senior and experienced doctors at the Saskia temoat hospital before moving here. And coincidentally Saskia was quite close to Dr. Faris as well, so Saskia could ask the senior doctor for help in dealing with Gizta.
"Doctor Faris is coming home tonight, so it's best"
"Assynnya!" Saskia had not finished her sentence when she heard a greeting from the door of the treatment room.
"Greetings hallaikum!" Saskia and Diftha answered in unison. Apparently the one who came was Doctor Faris.
"Sore, Doctor!" Diftha slightly mince words to the middle-aged doctor.
"Sore! Already home?"
"I was just about to see a doctor" Diftha said later, which only made Dr. Faris smile.
"Gizta how, Kia?" Dr. Faris instead asked Saskia.
"So far the condition has stabilized, Pa-" Saskia shuts her mouth quickly which of course again makes Diftha frown.
Looks like this is the second time Saskia almost called the uncle to Doctor Faris. What don't-don't...
"It's stable, which means it can be left, huh?" Doctor Faris mangosteen.
"Doctor's going home yet?" Diftha's real question is still wondering about Doctor Faris and Saskia's relationship.
I don't know, Diftha felt something was strange.
"Yes, in two hours the plane leaves, Diftha."
"Later after this Saskia will be in charge of watching over Gizta," said Dr. Faris while patting Diftha's back who just nodded.
"Thank you again, Doctor! Because it has come all the way here to handle Gizta operations," said Diftha sincerely.
"Thank you also to Kia who persuaded and forced me to come here." Both forefinger Doctor Faris form quotes that of course immediately make Saskia wrong behavior. Diftha was of course wondering more and more now.
"You're taking Uncle to the airport, Kia? Or just take a taxi?" Ask Doctor Faris next who immediately made Saskia approach the senior Doctor.
"Yes, Kia interracial!" Saskia replied slightly muttering.
"I'll take Doctor Uncle first, Diftha, '" said Saskia then to Diftha who still looks confused.
"Diftha!"
"H-yes!" Diftha replied slightly stuttering.
"Be careful!" Say Diftha again.
"Saskia's my favorite niece, Diftha!" Doctor Faris said, saying goodbye to Diftha who somehow breathed a sigh of relief now.
It's strange!
But Diftha was already thinking things out. It's ridiculous!
"Assynnya!" Pamit Saskia then who immediately made Diftha review smile.
"Greetings hallaikum."
