Shara stared at the dark sky. The girl was still sitting on the porch of Diftha's house while waiting for Diftha who never returned home.
"Mother Shara hasn't come home yet?" The rebuke from Mother Ida immediately jerked Shara's daydream.
"Yet, Ma'am!"
"Diftha used to be overtime until what time, huh, Ma'am?" Shara asked as she looked at Mother Ida.
"No doubt, Ma'am!"
"Sometimes maghrib is home. Sometimes until eight if there is an event outside," explained Ms Ida who immediately made Shara sigh.
Shara's phone inside the bag felt vibrating. Must be Miss Maria calling again!
Not long ago, I saw the adzan maghrib heard from the mosque not far from Diftha's house.
"I go in first, Ms. Shara. Want to pray," permission Mother Ida then broke the silence.
"Yes, Mom! Please," replied Shara lirih tanla even slightly moved from her seat. Shara only looked briefly into the house, where Mother Ida had entered the room Gizta and seemed to be helping Gizta pray.
Shara sighed once more, and her phone shook again. Shara finally picked up the phone from Miss Maria.
"Shara"
"Yes, Buk! Shara's coming home soon, "Shara replied quickly before Miss Maria started her scolding. Shara's eyes once again turned towards the gate where there was the sound of a car approaching.
May it be Diftha!
"Where are you? Still at Gizta's?"
"Still, Buk! Gizta has no one to look after," Shara replied lyingly.
"Happy and you will be there then. Then pick you up."
"Diftha hasn't been home or out of town yet?"
"Mmmmm, Diftha is just overtime and will be home soon."
"So Father and Mother don't have to come!" Shara quickly revealed a series of reasons.
"How long in a while? It's dark, Shara!"
"Yes, in a minute, Buk!"
"Thirty minutes!" Shara turned her gaze back to the front fence where there was the sound of a car approaching. But again it's not Diftha and it's just a passing car.
"All right! I'll wait thirty minutes, if you haven't reached home, Ibuk and I'll come right there to pick you up!"
"Yes, Buk!" Shara said, Holding up the phone from Ms. Maria.
Shara then sees her message to Diftha which is still unread by the man. Is Diftha angry with Shara?
Or Diftha deliberately dodged?
Shara, who felt unable to bear it, finally chose to call Diftha alone. Long enough Shara called, but the shelf was lifted by Diftha.
Diftha is on her way?
"Sir, still not home?" The question of Mother Ida who had returned to Shara on the terrace, immediately made Shara shocked.
"Sister-Cha-ra-"
"Ma-sih--nung-guin-a-bang?" Gizta who jiga came out, followed by asking questions to Shara.
"Yes, Gizta!"
"Silver must return Abang Diftha's motor," explained Shara again reasoned as well as showing the key of the Diftha motor that he still holds.
"Said Mr. Diftha the key can be placed inside only, Ma'am!"
"The key to the bike Mbak Shara was also given," said Mbak Ida who immediately made Shara wrong.
"I-yes, Ma! I have important things that I want to talk to Diftha, too" Shara said, finally back to reason. Shara glanced at her watch, then towards the fence again where there was a spotlight of approaching vehicle lights and stopped in front of the fence.
Not long after the gate was opened from the outside and Diftha who just came home from work.
"Finally," Shara murmured as she breathed a sigh of relief.
After opening the gate wide, Diftha immediately re-entered the car, then drove the vehicle into the garage.
"Not home yet, Sha?" Diftha made small talk to Shara, after the man entered the terrace.
"I'm waiting for you" Shara replied to the point.
"The key to your bike has been put on by Mother Ida" said Diftha while pointing to Shara's motorbike which is still parked in the garage.
"I want to talk," Shara stared meaningfully at Diftha who seemed to close her eyes for a moment, before then the man let out a heavy sigh.
"Diftha..." Shara pleads with Diftha who finally invites Shara to sit on the terrace chair.
"So about our chat on the phone a few days ago." Diftha chose to open the voice first because Shara did not speak.
"You better forget it!" Continue Diftha again as if you can guess the purpose of Shara who wants to talk to him, until this girl is willing to wait for herself to come home.
"I can't forget it. Lai Sydah admitted it," said Shara who immediately made Diftha cluck and rubbed his own face violently.
"But this relationship can't possibly continue, Sha!"
"We're different!" Sergey Diftha who has now grabbed both shoulders Shara.
"But people out there can be in relationships even married despite their differing beliefs"
"It is not justified in my religion nor in your religion, Shara!" Cut Diftha firmly.
"I am not a religious man, not an ustadz who mastered the science of religion."
"But I know very well about the limits in my religion, Sha!"
"On the conditions of marriage justified by my religion..." Diftha lowered her tone that had been raised.
"I can't marry a girl who doesn't like me" Diftha said again with a tone and a firm look at Shara.
"I'll follow your religion then" Shara replied as her hands were on her chest. Holding something hidden there.
"I'll change my faith" Shara repeated again, which increasingly brin*s the thing she had just held. Shara tried to pull the object out of her neck, but to no avail.
"Stop, Sha!" Prevent Diftha quickly as Shara attempts to remove her cross necklace.
"I will move on and follow your faith, Diftha!"
But unexpectedly, Diftha even shook his head towards Shara.
"It's not that easy, Shara!"
"Translating must be done from the heart, and not just because you want to marry someone you love."
"Your little heart didn't even approve of your wish just now" said Diftha who immediately made Shara shake her head.
"But I love you, Diftha!" Shara's great-grandson began to despair.
"Why don't we try to live it first..."
"Walk how long? Until we both feel pain?" It was Sergey Diftha who just made Shara shake her head.
"There will definitely be a bright spot, Diftha!".
"There's definitely a way out"
"There's no way out!" Decisive Diftha once again to Shara.
"The only way out is we have to forget each other, Shara!"
"I can't!" Sergeh Shara is stubborn.
Beep beeps!
The sound of the horn of a car stopping in front of the fence of Diftha's house interrupts Diftha and Shara's debate.
Someone who came out of the front door of the car earlier, Diftha can immediately recognize.
"Your parents have come to pick you up." Diftha took some tissue from the table, then thrust it at Shara.
"You weren't overtime and you were just avoiding me, were you?" Guess Shara after the girl wiped the remains of tears on her face.
"We'd better keep our distance, Shara!" Diftha said firmly.
"I'll find a way out-" Shara paused for a moment her sentence due to the sharp gaze from Diftha.
"Think about the feelings of your parents!" Diftha's advice is wise.
"I've been twenty-five years and I have the full right to choose which beliefs I want to embrace!"
"Dear!" Call Miss Mary who has approached Shara and Diftha.
"Good night, Mom!" Sapa Diftha tried to smile kindly at Miss Maria.
"Night, Diftha!"
"Just come home from work?" Miss Maria was a bit of a mince-talk on Diftha.
"Yes, Mom!"
"Shara told me that Shara will go home alone, Buk!" Shara said a little grumbling to the mother.
"It's night and dark, Shara!"
"You better not drive alone at night, Sha!" Said Diftha who also heard Shara's grunt earlier.
"We got Shara's bike first, Nak Diftha!" Said Miss Maria then to Diftha who immediately smiled kindly.
"Yes, Mom!"
"And we also immediately say goodbye," said Miss Maria again.
"Oh, yes!"
"Please, Mom!" Reply Diftha who immediately drove Miss Maria to the front fence. While Shara had even entered first into the car of her parents.
"Be careful, Sir, Mom!"
"And, thank you Shara for taking care of Gizta" said Diftha, staring meaningfully at Shara, who is now sitting in the back seat.
"Sama-sama," replied Shara who was more like a mutter. Shara and Diftha still exchanged glances, until a call from Mother Ida ended it all.
"Sir Diftha!"
"Yes, Miss Ida!" Diftha immediately ran back towards the terrace, approaching Mbak Ida who seemed to want to convey important things.
While in the Shara family car, the atmosphere was suddenly quiet, after Bu Maria and Pak Rudi saw Mother Ida who was apparently still in Diftha's house.
"Didn't you just say that in Diftha's house no one is guarding Gizta, Sha!" Miss Maria finally opened the sound along with the car that had driven away from Diftha's house.
"Shara was just accompanying Ms. Ida earlier, Buk!" Sergey Shara reasoned.
"But you didn't say that!"
"You said that Gizta had no one to guard at home, so you were guarding Duftha until Diftha came home from the office"
"Hum, already!" Mr. Rudi broke up the debate between Ms. Maria and Shara.
"But Shara's been lying, sir!"
"What does Shara mean"
"Shara just wants to spend more time with Gizta, Buk! Is that wrong?" Sergey Shara was trying to find a justification.
"Went more time with Gizta or did Diftha deliberately wait to get home from work?"
"Mom told you not to keep any feelings for Diftha, Shara!"
"Don't keep any feelings"
"Shara can't, Buk!" Sergeh Shara with a voice that has been following up.
"Shara loves Diftha!"
Ciiit!
