The Adventures of Clara

The Adventures of Clara
Denia city

There was a chasm that seemed to divide the world in two. Just beside the ravine stood a city connecting between the southern and northern parts of the continent, known as the last bastion of mankind, the City of Heroes, Denia.

300 Years ago, the world was in a great upheaval. Overnight the density level of mana soared high. Very high to be able to kill living things.

The wild beasts began to mutate to survive in the new environment. They became stronger and fiercer. At the same time dungeons also started popping up.

The northern regions of the continent were the worst affected. Perhaps because the source of this disaster came from the north.

How far is the difference?

Think of it like this, the level of monsters in the southern region increased from level 10 to level 36 while the monsters in the northern region increased from level 10 to level 70.

Unable to cope with this sudden change many kingdoms in the north collapsed. Countless casualties. Those who survived soon fled to the south.

At least the kingdoms in the southern region were somehow still able to survive.

Young, male-female, everyone is united and forgets all the past conflicts.

They used the fortress of Denia as the last line of defense and managed to withstand the invasion of thousands of monsters that chased them from the northern region.

Since then the northern region has become an area that is almost untouched by humans. Humans tried to reclaim this lost territory but the results were minimal.

Yep. That is the brief history of Denia City and this world.

Back to Denia City.

The city has walls that penetrate the sky, with a thickness of 10 meters and a variety of mass killing machines installed on it.

Broadly speaking, the city structure is divided into five areas with city hall and government area as the center. Adventurer and military districts are in the north, commercial districts in the southeast, and residential areas in the northwest.

The adventurer district itself consisted of various bars, inns, weapon shops, and other things that smelled of violence.

The most prominent building around here was of course the headquarters of the Adventurers Alliance which also served as a city landmark.

When entering the alliance building, ten out of ten people would be amazed as they greeted the grandeur of the hall. The floor is covered in white marble with a golden pattern giving the impression of success and glory.

Eight pairs of giant pillars stand firmly as a buffer. Each pillar was designed differently according to the characteristics of the eight legendary adventurers. There are also names of various great adventurers enshrined on these pillars. Mural and painting fill every corner of the wall. On the ceiling there are giant chandeliers illuminating every corner of the hall.

Note, ten out of ten people agreed this hall was very far away and did not match the image of an adventurer. I don't know who designed it.

At the end of the hall is the reception area.

Right now one of the receptionists is dealing with a pet girl who is sulking.

"Eh! Since when does ya~ have such rules?"

"This regulation was just passed last month," the receptionist replied with an apologetic expression.

There was no hue of impatience on the receptionist's face as he patiently explained the rules of the adventurer alliance to the little girl.

"Starting on the 18th of last month, the Adventurers Alliance has approved new regulations on age limits. If one wishes to register to be a member of the alliance one must be at least 14 years old."

And that way, the adventures of a little girl named Clara end before it even begins.

"Yup. That's how it is, Little Miss," said the man standing beside the girl.

His face was sinister, his burly body was covered in leather armor. On his waist was a battle axe and a short sword as a weapon. His name is Rhino.

"But .. hmph!"

Clara averted her eyes and puffed her pale reddish cheeks, disappointment clearly on her sweet face.

His grand plan to become an adventurer had already fallen apart before he could even begin. Why should there be such a stupid rule about the age limit? The little girl began to curse anything that could be cursed.

"That's it, let's go. It's not like anyone forbids you to be an adventurer. It's just that now isn't the time," Rhino persuaded as he poked at Clara's adorable cheek.

The reluctant Clara could only nod slowly.

"Sorry to interrupt your time" Rhino told the receptionist, bowing his head.

"Not to be ignored. This is my job anyway."

The receptionist does not hate a child who is full of passion and youth. Even he likes it.

It was a pity for him to register once the rules on age limits were passed.

"No matter how strong or talented a child is, they are still children. As adults it is our duty to protect them."

That's more or less what the new Alliance Chairman said at last month's meeting.

The girl could have been desperate to go on an adventure without joining the Alliance. But the scale of the scales will certainly be more inclined to the negative side.

Being a member of the Adventurers Alliance meant having the full support of the Alliance. Getting the Alliance's support means increased chances of survival.

Because in the adventurous world, it is very possible that the friend you had been drinking with last night had become a lump of ground meat the next day.

Moreover, the fastest way to obtain permission to cross the northern gate was to join the Alliance.

Thus the support of the alliance was absolutely necessary for an adventurer.

"Clara, spirit! Don't give up."

The receptionist held up a porcelain doll and waved her hand left and right.

Clara's mood improved a little. He looked at the doll with glowing eyes.

“Beauty! What's name?"

"I'm Belle. From now on let's be friends, Clara!"

"Yes!"

"For that mas over there, how about a glass of after-work drinking?" haggle Woman Receptionist, with a little flirting.

"Sorry, maybe next time."

"Well, I'll wait for him."

Before leaving Clara made a request to find someone.

"Please find news of adventurer named Henry Pragdina ...."

After confirming his request, the eccentric duo of thugs-like men and the little girl thanked him then left the waving receptionist lady with a gentle smile.

"This familiar feeling .. what yes ...."

..."...."...

"There's still time before lunch. Is there a place you want to go?"

"Library!" replied Clara, spirit.

When going to the alliance building Clara was in high spirits. After failing to join he became disappointed, then pouted. Now this girl is back.

Rhino felt that he would not be able to follow the mood of Clara who changed like a storm.

The library is located not far from the Alliance building. At the entrance of the library Rhino wanted to buy sweets so Clara entered the library alone. He paid a membership fee of two royals then walked towards the shelf where the magic book was located.

The library itself is quite crowded. Throughout this short journey Clara listened to some rumors. The most well-known and currently much-talked about issue is the rumors of a peace treaty with the demi-human kingdom.

Upon reaching the destination, Clara closed her eyes and concentrated. In the empty space of his tribe, he created streaks of light and spread them to various places.

Those lines were the embodiment of mana on his mind. This is the fundamental way as well as the way to practice magic, which is to use mana instead of the sense of sight and slowly look at books from each shelf. After a while he finally found a book that caught his interest.

Clara rushed over only to find that the book was beyond the reach of her hand. Although her tiny fingers were able to touch the cover of the book, but no matter how hard she tried the book remained unmoved.

"Usually in this moment there will be a handsome man helping the main character" Clara thought.

When Clara would give up a big hand—when compared to Clara— took the book. Clara stunned sejenk.

"It really happened!" clara cried out in her heart.

Clara's first impression of the prince in the middle of nowhere was quite good. His body is tall, sturdy but not excessive. His face was hard which showed the wealth of life experience. Highlight his eyes are sharp, his whiskers thin and his beard well groomed. He was wearing a brown jacket and a wide, matching hat. This man exuded an extremely powerful reliable aura.

For a moment Clara felt like a hick girl who saw Romeo riding a white horse.

"Where are your parents?" asked the man while handing the book to Clara.

"Pa-paman Rhino is buying sweets. That, ya~, thank you."

The man faintly smiled then said, "Your magic skills are not bad."

after saying that he turned around.

Your magic skills are not bad.

Not bad.

Not bad.

Just a simple compliment from the man was already able to make Clara's heart float around.

Clara subconsciously followed him towards the empty table in the corner with good lighting.

"What is this, what is this! Clara, why are you following the man you just met!”

“But-but he doesn't look like a bad guy, does he?”

“Yes, Clara! think rationally.”

“But-but ...."

Inner Clara is at war!

The man put down his hat and started reading the old tome. Clara on the other hand forcibly ended her inner conflict and read her own book.

The book he picked up was titled "Basic Necromancy. Even Idiots Can Also Learn Necromancy Magic In Just 10 Minutes!"

The title is a bit annoying. But the content is amazing.

Keep in mind, for some people, necromancy magic is drunk because it is considered to stain people who have died. That is why books on necromancy are quite difficult to find.

"With magic, you can do anything!"

It was a famous slogan throughout the world of pihiran. Basically this slogan is true as it is. To put it simply, magic is the power to turn fiction into reality.

Based on mana expenditure, difficulty level, and effect, magic was grouped into five levels.

The higher the level, the more magic it is difficult to learn. The higher the mana consumption, the greater the effect.

Magic spells vary from level one magic to boiling water to level five magic capable of wiping out mountains.

A person is only recognized as a witch if he is able to master second-rate magic. Because most level one magic is only for everyday purposes and is not suitable for combat.

Those who are considered to reach the peak of magic are dubbed as great magicians.

How difficult is it to be a great wizard?

Well, even third-rate witches are considered extraordinary. To reach level four requires adequate talent. While the magic of the fifth level ... well, it could be imagined as difficult as what mastering it was.

The flow of time slowly flowed. Clara was already immersed in the sea of thoughts.

Using this book as a guide, Clara began to think of necromancy methods that would definitely be of great help later on. Like the ability to communicate with spirits when lost.

Usually when in this mode it is very difficult to resuscitate Clara again. Even if there is a sweet smell around it. Even if someone pulls his pale cheeks. Or surrounded by demonic whispers ....

"Clara cursed the Rhino. Rhino will fail in a lifelong romantic relationship Rhino."

"Lives. The little witch cursed me. How this ... Sick, sick! O Great Witch, as an apology accept this offering of the lowly," Rhino bargained, handing over a sweet.

"Silver. Don't think yes~ Great Witch Clara will take a bribe like this," said Clara, arrogantly.

"If you don't want it already," Rhino replied, indifferently.

After that Rhino read the book quietly while eating the sweets he bought. "Oi! How many times today have you stepped on my foot."

"Rhino stupid!"

Seeing Clara who looked away while pouting brought a wry smile on her face. A moment later he began peace negotiations. As a result, his efforts to walk as far as 200 meters were all snatched away by the Great Witch Clara.

Clara did not forget to offer her loot to the man who had been busy reading and might be bothered by the commotion made by the love duo.

The man simply nodded then refocused on his personal affairs. Clara was not as thick as the thug sitting next to her so she did not bother further.

The sound of bells rang out in the distance. After bidding farewell to the mysterious man, Clara and Rhino set off for a pre-agreed restaurant.

Along the way, Rhino began to be curious because Clara's mood was plummeting. So he asked.

"Haa. Clara ya~ forgot to ask the person's name," explained Clara.

Rhino's heart was immediately moved to hear Clara's explanation. He started messing around on his own.

"Aiya! That brother? I know him." Clara started smiling brightly. "But suddenly I forgot! Ahahaha-aw!"

Clara puffed up her pale red cheeks.

Immediately he stared intently at Rhino and said, "Okay! Tell Clara ya~ later the curse will be Clara pull."

"Oi! Seriously?"

Rhino would not want to worry. He did not know if Clara had really cursed him.

"If Rhino tells you the curse is a lie," replied Clara, playfully.

"So if you don't know you'll curse me for real" Rhino lamented inwardly.

"He's Pedro from the Village Left. Adventurer class hunter. Pretty famous. The most famous rumor about him is that he is not interested in women. After meeting him in person I suspected he might be a lolicon. Aw! Just sec. Why does your work hurt so much?"

Ignoring Rhino's grievances, Clara began to sink into his mind. He walked in this condition from the adventurer district to the commercial district. It's amazing he didn't hit anyone.

When they got to the other group had not arrived so they ordered a snack first.

"You okay?" ask Rhino, worry.

Clara's body was currently full of red patches. He vaguely remembered that this girl had some kind of illness.

"Enter meal Clara will take medicine," replied Clara, calm down.

"Then we eat first."

"Ms."

Clara and Rhino ordered premium beef steaks, salads, and ice cream as desserts.

“Wisdom eat with other people's money,” said Rhino.

After eating, Clara mixed the mysterious powder with water and drank it. The cure is very effective. The reddish patches on Clara's body disappeared within minutes.

After that they had to wait another minute before the other party appeared.

"Sorry to keep you waiting a long time" said Uncle Boss.

This morning Rhino lost in the paper stone scissors so he was tasked with guarding Clara while the other two men accompanied Uncle Boss.

Other than Rhino, uncle had two other people as bodyguards. One is a short-haired woman and dressed like punk, although actually she is a good woman. Name's Shina. The others were men in glasses and dressed in business but had a fiercer temper than Rhino, Neet.

"We ate first" Rhino said.

While waiting for uncle's order to come, they exchanged stories. The atmosphere is very harmonious. Clara is upset by the new rules of the Adventurers Alliance. Rhino and Neet were occasionally bickering. Shina who often responds late. Uncle Boss who told a crisp joke ....

"Aw! How you want!"

Unknowingly, Clara stomped on Rhino's feet to hide something that almost flowed down.

The uncle who noticed that smiled gently.

..."...."...

Today is the peak of summer. No doubt the sunburn is stronger than the usual days. Even so, people are still busy. The headquarters of the Adventurers Alliance also did not escape this situation, although the inside was much cooler.

A woman walked in the hallway of the third floor of the Alliance building. Her beautiful face was combined with fine white skin and a strand of golden mane like a princess from a fairyland.

Both of his hands hugged a porcelain doll that looked like a mini version of himself.

He walked over and finally stopped in front of the office of the alliance chairman.

The woman entered without knocking on the door. Consequently,

"Whammo!"

He saw something he shouldn't have seen.

"sorry. Next time I'll knock on the door."

"Yes. Please," said the room's owner, awkwardly.

After a brief silence they started talking about the business as if nothing had happened. Or rather, trying to forcibly forget about the accident earlier.

"Anna, there is a special request for you, from the Court," said the man in a black suit, the head of the Adventurers Alliance, Erick.

"Hm ... Will there be another war?" said Anna, smiling sweetly.

"The situation has been a bit chaotic since General Kin's disappearance. I would also like to ask you to investigate. But that's not business this time. A personal letter of request came from Mr. Delta Greyhorn" Erick said.

Anna read the letter, then said, "Erick, you know, guess who I just met."

"Let's finish this business first. What answer?"

Anna did not heed Erick's words and continued, "It looks like the girl has a relationship with Rosella's sister. Maybe his son."

"Your answer."

"You should see him. He'll be a big help to you."

" ... Okay, later after I'm a bit loose. So then?"

Not looking interested, Anna replied, "I'll think about it."

After that, he said goodbye and left.

Erick who was left could only sigh. He stroked the vault on the workbench with an affectionate look.

"You can't follow the example, yeah."

A reply static sound came from inside the crate. "That's disgusting, dad."
