The Adventures of Clara

The Adventures of Clara
Clarina

Amidst the vast expanse of grasslands, a group of majestic witches erected many tall towers piercing through the sky the place where they and their disciples lived. There they researched everything related to magic, including various magic tools that can improve the standard of human life.

Merchants smelling the scent of business sprang up and naturally people started to arrive. Eventually, a town was formed known as the home of the witches, Zariya City.

The ten great magicians as founders formed a council to rule the city. In addition, in the form of also witch associations as well as magic academies.

As the stereotypical magician, the great magicians focused only on research and most of the time ignored the government so the city was also famous for its high crime rate.

But put all that aside for now.

In this city, on the dark side of the metropolis, stands a tiny house when compared with its neighbors. It is located in high-rise buildings. Living in it is the figure of a girl who is no less petite and beloved father.

The father was an adventurer and a doctor. Every month he would go on adventures for a few days, leaving his sickly daughter alone. He is actually not willing, but what would be said, this is also for the healing of his beloved child.

The princess is a smart man. He understood his father's dilemma so he convinced him that he was fine living alone, even though he felt very lonely.

"Please promise to come back soon, okay? Oh, and also do not forget to bring souvenirs," said the princess with a smile of understanding.

The princess was born weak. Worse, his body will get weaker if he is exposed to sunlight for too long. For most of his life he spent in a comfortable cage called this house. And maybe for the rest of his life, too.

Once, just as usual, the father said goodbye to go. The difference is, this time there is no news about him after days to weeks of his departure. Her daughter became very worried, but she firmly believed that her father would return soon.

One weeks.

Two sundays.

One month.

Two months.

Time continued to flow, but there was still no news after the return of the father.

The princess' body deteriorated and the medicine was also exhausted. Just to move his tiny fingers alone had made him limp. If it continues like this maybe the end will soon pick him up.

The day of alternating.

The rain seemed to depict the mood of the girl. The bad thoughts that he had previously suppressed now flooded his mind. He wants to believe, but reality says something else. From doubt to anxiety to finally, despair.

In her desperation the princess felt the arrival of someone. I don't know where the sensation came from or who it was. But this was more than enough to give him a glimmer of hope.

He put all his remaining energy into moving his body. Carefully the princess opened the window and looked towards the courtyard of her house.

There, in the rain, stood a rabbit-like figure, yet he subconsciously rejected the thought. The figure stood leisurely ignoring the rain, or perhaps the rain that was avoiding it?

Disappointment flooded his heart. It turned out that the figure was not his father.

But the feeling of disappointment was soon replaced with curiosity.

Who is this creature?

Home security systems that are supposed to evict guests are not invited to react to it at all.

The figure was running here and there, like a child playing in the rain. The girl looked at him with question marks and also, envy.

He also wants to play like that. The creature's actions seemed to be making fun of the princess.

Then, the figure stopped and looked towards the princess. Their eyes meet each other.

Feeling caught off guard from peeping, the girl immediately moved away from the window. But curiosity flooded back into him.

Breathe in. Eject.

Breathe in. Eject.

After doing a split-time finally the girl had the courage to peek back out.

The mysterious creature was still in its place, silent in the rain.

"Who are you?" ask the girl.

"Who are you?"

Still no answer. Perhaps the rain spatter disturbed his voice to reach the receiver. So he maximized his lung capacity and once again asked,

"Who are you!"

On the third try finally came a reply. However, it was not the answer to the girl's question.

A voice rang out very clearly as if ignoring all obstacles and instantly reached the ears of the girl.

"You wanna play together?"

..."...."...

A few months later.

On the road to the Border city of Denia, a carriage pulled by a pair of large black horses ran neither fast nor slow. Inside the car was a container filled with stones with a rainbow luster.

Two figures fill the driver's seat. One of them was a thick-bodied middle-aged man. With a thin mustache on his face. The outside view is the perfect image of an evil merchant.

Sitting next to her was a little girl wearing a blue-colored white robe, Clarina Amaryllis Pragdina, often called Clara. His skin was very pale and there were red patches all over his body.

the contrast of the two creates a unique combination.

As the two of them were conversing, the silhouette of the building began to reveal itself.

"Ah, looks like we'll be there any minute."

"Hm. Maybe we'll be until the sun goes down, "go to the middle-aged man while scratching his chin. "Do I have to increase the speed, huh? I want to get there as soon as possible."

Clara remembers that her uncle this one was a hygiene maniac. Not taking a shower all day would have made him suffer.

"By the way, thank you Y~ for the ride, Uncle." said Clara as she lowered her tiny head.

"Speak what you are, Carla. If you really want to thank me then go home to Zariya. Of course I will take care of all the needs of your life. So just go home, okay?" persuade Uncle.

Clara pretended to be deaf and looked forward without any intention to respond further.

He knew that this Uncle, who was his father's best friend, cared a lot about him. What Clara wanted to do was something dangerous. Nevertheless, Clara had already rounded her resolve.

Seeing this Uncle can only sigh tiredly.

A business trip that was supposed to go well had been ruined before it even reached its destination.

The reason was the discovery of a stowaway, Clara, with adventurer gear and a giant backpack on her back midway.

After a brief interrogation it is discovered that Clara happened to hear the purpose of her business trip and decided to hitch a ride.

Due to the late discovery, it was impossible to return it back then as well. So Uncle decided to take her.

"Say, Clara, why do you want to be an adventurer?"

"Hm?" Clara tilted her head for a moment then replied, "So adventurer is cool, huh~ right? Just like mom and dad."

Uncle sighed once more after mengengengdeng dodging answer Clara.

Putting aside the danger, the future prospects of an adventurer were extremely uncertain. In fact, not a few who do a lot of spending without getting a return. That is why many say being an adventurer is not a job, but a hobby.

Even so, not a few also register to become members of the Adventurers Alliance every year. Each has different reasons for being an adventurer. Money, fame, to hone skills, and many others.

Uncle strongly opposed Clara's decision given her young age. Also, if he only wanted to explore the world then it would be much better to join the military exploration division.

Even so, this was Clara's life, her decision. Uncle felt he had no right to impose his will.

Uncle looked towards the au-looking and high-potential Clara to become a male assassin later on, then muttered, "I hope you won't end up the same as your parents."

In the twilight, the structure of the city finally became very clear. It wouldn't be long before they would reach their destination, Hero City, Denia.
