I sat under the shade of a mango tree that was full of fruit. I decided to rest again to lay my body on a white sack where I had laid my body there before the Father sent us all to the mosque.
The sound of mango leaves was heard. I could see the figure of Jono who was seen throwing mangoes with small stones in his grip.
He was seen biting his lower lip as he threw some stones at the mango tree. He looked at the mangoes with sharp eyes as if he wanted to eat all the mangoes he saw.
When the stones that he threw misses and does not succeed in hitting the mangoes that are his target he snorted annoyed while putting on an angry face as if he wanted to shake the tree trunk in order to reach the mango he saw.
While Leha seems to point towards the mangoes while looking up at the mango that has been the easy target of the greedy Jono.
I who had grown tired of seeing Jono who was so very hard-earned to throw mangoes not even hit the fruit at the slightest turn to look at the figure of Samal, he said, the tall skinny one who seemed to jump until some fruit managed to be in his hands. This is Samal's skill.
When I was busy staring at my friends, my attention was now on the figure of Mansur who was seen sitting while staring at Jono until not long ago maybe because of his own annoyance and impatient to see Jono struggling with the stones he threw. Now he got up and grabbed some rocks that were in Jono's grasp.
"No, that's not how to throw a mango."
"Keep how?" ask Jono who doesn't understand.
"Jono, if you want to throw a mango then you have to focus on the target! Look which way the wind is blowing"
"How do you see the wind? The wind, it doesn't have any color" Jono protested making me laugh.
"We can't see it but we can feel it. Don't throw if the wind is strong because it will miss the stone you throw," explained Mansur patronizing.
I just heard it while Jono just nodded his head. Either because he understood or he just pretended to be pretentious so as not to get tantrums from Mansur.
"Where do you want mango? Let me throw it."
Not yet had time to answer Leha directly pointed. "That one!" point it vigorously towards the mango fruit.
"It seems to be very mature."
"Jono likes ripe mangoes" added Jono while showing his face as if he was enjoying the sweet sensation of mangoes.
"Well then see how I throw mangoes!"
Mansur started taking the tablets. His right leg he put forward while his left leg was slightly behind, a little bit far apart. Highlight his eyes look sharp while throwing catch the stone in his hand.
He closed his eyes for a moment as if he was feeling the sensation of the wind blowing. Both of Mansur's eyes opened and he threw stones at the tree to make me rise to see where the stone thrown by Mansur landed.
Bruack!!!
The plot!!!
The sound of a mango falling to the ground was heard making Jono and Leha jump around happily while I was made to gawk. I didn't know I had such a great friend. Apparently all this time I had a great friend like Mansur. Already smart, good at throwing mangoes also a lot of advantages until often I made head bobbles.
"Food is coming."
Mother's characteristic soft voice calling her children sounded. I turned to look at Mother who seemed to carry several long branches made of iron.
I can also see the figure of Santi's mother who looks carrying a large plastic bottle filled with water and a bag of cutlery like plastic plates as well as several glasses.
We all sat cross-legged, circling the bushels that were seen opened and arranged in the middle of the circle that had been on the pedestal with a white sack where I had laid my body.
You can see me wagging the hat made of bamboo knitted towards his face. Yes, the hotter the day the sting makes a sweat wash over the body.
"How did you finish sowing your corn seeds?"
"Yet, there's still a little bit of Mak."
Mom nodded and then she looked at my friends one by one.
"Are you hungry yet?"
"Not Tan-"
"Aunty hungry," cut Jono make Samal, Mansur and Leha look at each other and look unhappy at the fat man.
This one friend is too honest if stomach problems. My mother gave us a plate of rice one by one starting from Mr, me, Samal, Mansur and Leha. Oh yes do not forget the Jono who seems to have been impatient to eat so he prefers to take his own rice rather than to be taken by my mother. It seems like Jono's food problem is never shy.
"Eat, Son! Eat a lot!"
"Yes Aunt, yes definitely. Jono will eat a lot" replied Jono with passion and food that filled his mouth.
On one side of the plate that Jono was using seemed to be filled with food. Some fried fish that had been sauteed, vegetable stir-fried kale even a few pieces of eggs while I was quite sorry to Samal the same who only took a little rice and a piece of egg. Now I know why Samal's body is so thin and never fat like Jono their appetite is so different.
"You don't like eating Samal's vegetables?"
Finally Santi asked. Honestly, I've wanted to ask you about it since, but I doubt and fear Samal will get angry if I ask about it.
"I don't like to eat vegetables" replied Samal.
"Why not like it?"
"Thank-"
"You should be skinny because you don't like to eat vegetables" Mansyur said, making me a little surprised by Mansur's speech.
Mansur rarely talk but once talk destroyed everything.
"Try to eat vegetables then you will be fat like Jono," said Santi.
Jono who was eating was shocked while we all turned to look at Jono who was now silent with his mouth that looked full. His jaw motion stopped the moment he got a serious look from us.
"Flatter, Jono is not thin because he likes to eat vegetables so Jono has a fat body like this."
We all laughed as Jono lifted his shirt making his belly bulge and round like a donut made us all giggle.
It was a very happy day for us. The sound of laughter and joking seemed to blend into one with the tired and tired lunch-wasting food in an inland village squeezed by high hills, simple country houses, and the, the citizens who still adhere to the teachings of religion is a very valuable thing difficult to find and difficult to apply.
