A brief glint of astonishment was seen in Ling Mo Han's jet-black eyes for a moment, surprised that he would see the little beggar once again in a place like this. He had thought that the little beggar would escape at the first danger sign that he would definitely encounter in the Nine Trapping Forest, and he had never expected to come all the way into the forest.
He had seen the little beggar one afternoon. The young beggar bent down to dig the plant out of the ground. The potions he thought were useless were instead picked by the little beggars one by one and the young man seemed to be extremely carefree and comfortable within his inner reach, appearing completely oblivious to all the surrounding dangers.
Based on his cold and indifferent personality, he would not pay attention to the little beggar. But somehow, for no good reason, he didn't leave. Instead, he quietly observed from a distance, watching the little beggar closely as he picked up a piece of dead wood and dug a small hole in it. He then found a small, dead branch and he sat down placing the end of the branch into a small hole in a larger piece of wood and stared angrily twisting the branch, which was, held between his palms, it seemed like he was trying to make a hole in it of wood. He had no idea what the little beggar was doing and only after observing it for over two hours did he see a thin wisp of smoke coming out from the piece of wood, he was completely shocked.
With just two pieces of wood and he can light a fire! ? He had never seen anyone use such a strange method before. He knew that in order to light a fire, people usually used a bar of coals or flint. In the worst-case scenario, he had heard that people would even attack two weapons together to ignite a spark, but through methods like the little beggar had just done, he said, it was the first of his entire life.
But it also told him that the little beggar was unaware of the danger around him. The young man had thoughts of putting out the fire after he roasted and ate the skilfully skinned snake before climbing quickly onto a tall tree to find a resting place at night. The young beggar was very heartless, as he could hear the boy snoring loudly along the way here.
If Ling Mo Han knew what Feng Jiu was thinking in his mind back then, he might not have the same thoughts.
Initially, Feng Jiu did not realize that someone was watching him because he did not feel any evil intent in the air around him. However, just as he was up in the tree and had just closed his eyes to sleep, he suddenly felt that a pair of eyes were watching him, investigating and judging him. And because of that, he snored loudly, pretending to be sound asleep.
In reality, he wondered when those eyes had started watching him and, how he had failed to realize that he was being watched.
But since the other party did not choose to show himself, and did not make him feel threatened, he decided not to expose the person hidden in the darkness, but chose to secretly raise his vigilance. After all, the people of this world nurtured immortality and he could not carelessly see them as ordinary humans, or else he would put himself at a great disadvantage from the start.
“ARGGGH!”
‘BAM!’
He shouted and fell to the ground with a loud noise, lying among the tall grass on the ground.
“Ouch! It hurts so much!” He stood up and rubbed his hips and twisted his body before sighing in relief: “Fortunately nothing broke.”
In the distance, a dense canopy of leaves covered Ling Mo Han's figure as his sharp eyes glanced at the distant figure before quickly throwing their faces away.
From the moment the little beggar woke up, his eyes opened. He had seen the little beggar still dizzy from sleep as he lay high above the trees and fell from it. He knew the ground under the tree was filled with weeds growing on soft ground and such a fall would not cause much trouble, either, therefore he only glanced unsympatheticly and did not bother to help the young man stand up.
He saw the little beggar rub his hips and then proceeded to find two pieces of sizable stones before sitting down to take out the herbs he had previously collected from his clothes. He then punched it and put it in his mouth. Ling Mo Han could not help but make his eyebrows slant upwards with a deep frown as he looked at the little beggar and thought to himself: [The little beggar had just eaten a roasted snake last night, was he so hungry that he had to do it? eating herbs to relieve his hunger?]
[Even if that's the case, you can't put herbs in your mouth that way, right? Didn't he know that eating herbs carelessly like this can cause you great trouble?] He only thought that when he saw the little beggar he suddenly choked and he spewed out a mouthful of dark blood before collapsing to the ground..
