Sorry I Love You, Friend!

Sorry I Love You, Friend!
Desperate Asa

Aska sighed heavily in front of the navel that read Bima Ramadhan. His eyes stared pusingly at the red earth mound that was still shrouded in a sprinkling of fresh flowers. Surely some people came to mourn. Bima is known as a friendly and kind person so many people like it. Surely among the people who sow flowers are teachers and students at the school where Bima teaches.

In silence, Aska recited a prayer for whoever was behind the tomb and ended it with a question.

Where's Bima?

...***...

An hour after leaving the burial area, Aska stood across the highway, looking away at the place where the Bima accident occurred. Once off the bus, I don't know why the spirit that was so fiery immediately extinguished. Fear crept into Aska's heart, making her hesitant to step foot.

Aska forced her foot closer to the police line that was still covering the place, she lifted the rope and entered it. There is nothing in this place, it is normally a dead end. This area is only used as a place to sell for street vendors or rest areas on holidays. Surprising when suddenly Bima's car was found burning on this road, stopping this area quite far from the residential area of Bima and Aska.

What really happened that night?

Aska looked around, looking for the remnants of clues that escaped police surveillance. Aska confused where else to look for Bima, all the hospitals in this city have been explored but there is not the slightest trace of the existence of Bima he found. Aska noticed the asphalt that is still blackened due to the fire that occurred. The tears immediately flowed making Aska's vision blurry. He imagined the pain and suffering of the body in the car. Alone facing death, the heat of the fire that burned the entire body was also felt to wrap the body Aska in the form of increased body temperature.

Aska was aghast as she felt a subtle pat on her shoulder. He immediately turned and looked at the figure standing beside him.

Hervi Nugroho, the police who handled the Bima case, was staring at Aska with a concerned look that radiated behind his dark eyeballs.

“What are you doing here?” ask Ask. He wiped away the traces of tears on his cheeks.

Hervi held out a white handkerchief.

“Same as you. Looking at the scene," he said flatly.

Actually Hervi had just finished a case near this place, on the way home he saw Aska standing at the crossroads staring straight at the corner of the dead end. Hervi understood what made the woman for three hours stand like a statue with a blank look.

Ever since his first meeting with Aska, Hervi seemed to be unable to forget the woman's words. Hervi did feel some awkwardness in the case but he was unable to go any further when the head of the field ordered him to close the case as a regular accident.

"What did you find?" Ask Ask Ask. He really hopes that the police in front of him can help Aska find her best friend. But only the weak trunks that Aska gets. Making him sigh, looking back at the black asphalt.

...***...

Aldi pulled his suitcase violently. A short phone call from her mother made her rush back to Indonesia. He left the research he was working on and soon flew on his first flight from Germany. Mother only reported about the death of Bima but from her voice Aldi knew, something had happened at home and it must be related to Aska. No one can make you sad but Aska.

The girl always managed to make the mother cry alone at night while everyone was asleep. Aska can also make mothers angry all day just because of her delinquency in school. Aska makes her biological mother suffer but Aldi cannot hate and ignore the girl. Everyone couldn't do it because they realized Aska was doing it all not because of her intention to be evil. The girl only showed a rebellious attitude to attract the attention of her father who was too busy with work.

After living together, Aldi realized how the true nature of Aska. From childhood, the girl lives alone, eating instant food and filling her day by sitting in front of the television, switching from one channel to another from morning until bedtime. Losing a mother's embrace and a father's affection at a toddler age led her to live out the lonely days. Aldi is sure, he will never be able to if he has to experience the same thing.

Despite never knowing the figure of Dad, Aldi still feels quite lucky. He had a mother who was always there for him, loving him more than anything in the world. All that was enough to make her the happiest child but Aska was different, the girl had no one by her side, her life was gloomy and lonely. After meeting Bima, Aldi could only see the change in his half-brother. Aska began to socialize with the outside environment, suddenly school became a favorite activity. Slowly began to talk to the mother despite only a few words without realizing that it was able to make the mother very happy.

Upon hearing the news of Bima's death, the first thing Aldi thought about was Aska. Can he accept this reality?

“Ma?” Aldi went around the house looking for his mother. As soon as he got out of the taxi, he found the front door open and no one answered his call.

“Ma.”

Aldi walks to the back garden, mother's favorite spot. The woman he loved was at home to spend time linger there, along with a variety of flowers that he planted himself.

Nirmala turned around, surprised to see her son. Never expecting Aldi to appear before him, the young man said nothing on their last phone call.

“Al, why are you home?”

“Mama's not happy to see me go home?” aldi asked softly, pretending to put on a sad face.

Nirmala chuckles a little in response to her son's never-changing humorous nature. He hugged his son tightly. Two years is quite a long time for both of them to live on two different continents. Despite daily video calls, Nirmala still feels a deep yearning for her biological son.

“Mama is very happy dear," he said after releasing a hug.

Aldi looked at his mother's face. The woman looked tired with a few wrinkles adorning her face. “When was the last time mom slept?” tanyanya.

“Mother face full of wrinkles and eyes, oh loy! Mom's eyes are like pandas" she continued, further tarnishing her mother.

Nirmala touched her cheeks with both palms. “What is the mother looking old?”

“Of course. Then Papa will definitely turn to a younger woman. Come, mom should go to the salon immediately for a gold mask.”

Aldi embraces his mother and invites him into the house. Nirmala chuckled at the joke of her son. He followed Aldi who walked in his direction.

Aldi was sitting at the dinner table while mom was busy preparing food. “Bu, how is Aska?” slowly tanyanya.

Nirmala put down a cup of coffee, then sat down in front of him. Di sighed heavily, “Burah Al, until now Aska did not want to come out of her room.”

“How many days has it been?”

“Five.”

“Five days, Ma?” shocks surprised. He put the spoon back on the plate. “What is he down to eat?” tanyanya.

Nirmala nodded weakly. “Aska has not been out since returning from the police station.”

“What did he do to the police station?”

Nirmala nodded again. He really didn't know anything Aska was doing or thinking. The last time Nirmala spoke to Aska before the funeral, the two never even met face to face.

“We have to force him out to eat, Ma," Aldi said seriously. He put both sleeves up, “Mama still save Aska room spare key?”

Nirmala nodded. He immediately got up looking for a spare key in the drawer of the living room closet. The two went upstairs, standing in front of Aska's room. Aldi took the key in his mother's hand, put it in the door hole and slowly turned it around. The door opens slowly as soon as the door knob is turned. Aldi stepped in followed by his mother. Nirmala came to the bed but Aska was not there, the girl was nowhere.

Aldi opened the bathroom door and was shocked to see Aska sitting in the corner of the room with the water from the shower pouring all over her body. Aldi immediately approached his sister, shaking the nearly frozen body. Aska did not react, she sat bending her body by hugging her knees. Aldi groped the neck of Aska looking for his pulse, his pulse was too weak. He immediately held Aska while asking Mom to call an ambulance immediately.
