In the ICU room, Axton sat next to the bed where Edrich's body lay stiff. His gaze was empty as if thousands of uncertain turbulent feelings. There were no tears or sobs crying. The world of men is like being stopped by time.
The rumbling in the chest delivered countless tightness. Axton is quietly fighting back against the trauma. Although this time he no longer roared and crazed, but the amount of pain in his wound is still the same.
The stress of the soul from the death of the mother has not fully healed. And now Axton must also be faced again with the fact that he was the cause of his father's death.
If it is like this, is it not the same as the destiny to sow salt on the wound that is still gaping? The trauma that slowly began to disappear even returned again without being asked.
"Daddy, you said it first. I am a son of a bad-ass carrier. We shouldn't have to reconcile if this brief happiness ends up dead." Axton smiled bitterly in between her nanargument.
He lowered his gaze toward Edrich's wrinkled and thin-looking hand. Then he grabbed the hand and put it on his head. "Wake up and hit me as you please."
Axton bowed as if the burden of thought felt so heavy he refuted. His breathing roar also trembled, signaling the tight roll in the chest was increasingly popping.
However, in the depths of his heart, Axton still held high hopes for God's mercy. Not to reject the letter of fate of life, the man was just trying to believe in a miracle. Although, it had faltered because of the whisper of conscience that encouraged him to surrender to accept reality.
Axton is so overwhelmed with grief that she is unaware of Naora's presence, who has just been delivered by a nurse in a wheelchair. She was also seen cradling her baby who was still red. Just a moment ago, Naora also heard news of Edrich's condition.
Slowly, Naora tried to get up from her wheelchair and walked up to her husband. "Daddy ...," said the woman. His voice trembled along with the greeting tears.
Axton turned her neck towards Naora who was already standing beside her. And at that moment he immediately rose from his seat and hugged his wife. "Naora ...," he said very softly. It's barely even audible.
"Axton, is daddy right already ...." Naora hesitated to say. Same with Axton, he was very difficult to accept reality.
"He was just asleep" said Axton who seemed to reject the reality.
As much as possible to smile even though the tears have poured out. Naora breaks Axton's embrace and then makes a sound. "Daddy, isn't that what Axton said you were just sleeping? Look, I came with your granddaughter. Open your eyes, Dad!" Naora's sobs began to sound. "How can you just walk away without seeing your granddaughter?"
With great care, Axton takes over the baby from Naora's embrace. Gaze upon the plain face that was still asleep then kissed him. "My son, would you be willing if your grandfather left for good so soon? You haven't even had time to play with him. Protest him. Get angry and cry."
Unexpectedly, the baby who had not had time to be named seemed to wriggle slowly and immediately cry shrill. The little creature seemed to understand what his father said.
Axton immediately took the initiative to bring the baby closer to Edrich's ear. With great hope that the sound of the first grandchild's cry was able to bring a miracle.
…
Step by step left a trail on the wet green grass. A blanket of white mist ushers life toward the end of a brightly glowing savanna backdrop. The breeze flowed freely into the crisp expanse of wildflowers, accompanying each step.
"Edrich ...."
The sound waves echo gently touching the eardrum. A single life seemed to look around him. Until, a graceful figure filled the eye space.
The coffers of longing finally delivered a happy smile. After decades, Edrich again met his lover.
"Aruem's? Is that really you?" No longer able to resist the desire of longing longer, the man stepped quickly closer and hugged the body of the woman whose name was still well preserved in the chamber of the heart.
There were no more words, only tears that became the language of the soul. Really, there is no set of phrases that can describe his happiness.
"Areum, but I still miss you so much."
Areum smiled warmly and then gently summarized both of Edrich's cheeks. "Back, husband. I will be faithful waiting for you here. And if it's time, we'll meet again."
"But-"
"Listen to me, there is the happiness of our sons and grandchildren that you must witness. Come back, they are eagerly expecting your existence to complement their happiness."
"All right." Edrich kissed Areum's forehead full of sincere love. "My wife, I love you so much. And the taste never faded. Believe me, this love of mine will carry me to death."
"I've never doubted your feelings of love, Edrich, because we have the same feelings."
Suddenly the sound of baby crying that came out of nowhere sounded faint. Simultaneously he felt a cold sensation as drops of sky water fell on his head and face. Surprisingly, only he looked wet, while Areum was still in a dry state.
"That's the voice of our grandson, Edrich. He's calling you. After returning, please apologize to our son for not being able to be a good mother figure for him. All this time he has suffered greatly from being a victim of our mistakes. He was a good son and devoted to parents. Love him, don't repeat your hatred. It was very unfair for him," said Areum impressed to pursue the time eroded.
Before his eyes, Edrich's soul slowly no longer treaded the green grass. His body was already floating with the air.
"Areum, I'll always miss you. Wait for me. When my death really comes hopefully we can get back together."
Areum returned a warm smile. "When I meet again, my husband. I love you." He waved at Edrich who was already flying into the sky, heading for the portal to another world.
From a distance, Edrich was also seen replying to a wave of his hand with a review of a self-righteous smile before his body completely disappeared engulfed in a roll of white light.
…
The little angel, as if, was pleading with the Lord through his cries. Her tears also appeared to fall on the grandfather's pale face. Until Axton and Naora were immediately shocked when they saw Edrich's body again showed signs of life. The sound of a heart-detecting machine also sounded back to normal.
"Axton, Daddy's back!" exclaimed Naora who now looks to cry with relief.
Still holding the baby, Axton rushed to press the service button next to the bed. Not long after, several teams of doctors arrived and immediately moved quickly to deal with patients.
This is one proof of the miracle of Almighty God. Axton and Naora repeatedly expressed their gratitude.
