Dani just got out of her car. Carry a bag while paying attention to the road leading into the house. As always, Mamah Yuli would greet her with the sweetest and most exotic smile. The smile of a middle-aged mother who was very soothing to the soul of a child.
Mamah Yuli spread her arms ready to hug Dani. The firstborn who always made her queen wherever and whenever she was. Dani smiled and hugged the woman. As if tired who had run from earlier his body disappeared somewhere.
It was a very quiet afternoon greeting the two. Dani greeted Mamah Yuli as usual, then kissed her cheeks and forehead. A truly flattering treatment for every mother when treated so warmly by her own child.
A little boy of about seven years old was running from behind. With a gasp of breath, he smiled at Dani.
"Why are you home?" ask the little girl.
Dani smiled as she nodded, "Salwa look at yourself, right? I didn't break the promise, did I? Wait for Papah to clean up first, then we teach together."
Salwa, the seven-year-old girl smiled and nodded at her papa. He is the second son of Dani and Inaya. The figure of a child who is always cheerful, spoiled, and easy to get along with. Very inversely proportional to the brother.
They all went into the house. In the lounge, Dani saw her teenage daughter was grinning with her eyes focused on the phone screen. He approached the teenage girl.
"Why are Papah's kids smiling to themselves, hmm?" dani asked trying to find out through her son's cell phone screen.
Sounds upset from the teenage girl. Instead of answering his papa question, he went to the second floor where his room was.
"Aidha, is that the same papah?" sergeant the grandmother saw her first granddaughter so coldly treating her papa.
"That's because Aidha hates the same, papah! People who can't make the right decisions!" aida shouted from the stairs.
Dani smiled bitterly at the statement from her eldest son. Muhammad Ardani is a 45-year-old widower. Served as staff at the Department of Education and Culture in a small town with the slogan of mayor. His wife left him when they gave birth to their second child.
When giving birth to a second child, the late wife experienced an amniotic fluid embolism. This caused Inaya to die. His eldest son thought it was his fault. Just letting Inaya get pregnant means that she has pushed Inaya to the brink of death. That was Aidha's assumption of him.
She and her family have repeatedly explained to Aidha that her mother's death was inevitable, but Aidha still stands. He felt angry and disappointed at his face.
What about Aidha's attitude to Salwa? He was very cold towards his sister. Aidha was very stiff towards his sister. Never mind playing, answering Salwa greetings can only be counted with fingers.
In fact, her grandmother had heard Aidha say to Salwa that she never wanted to have a sister. The family has done various ways to get rid of Aidha's anger over her mother's death. However, their efforts have not been successful. It was even worse because of the girl's increasingly bad attitude to treat Dani and Salwa.
"Let Ma first, Aidha is still angry with Dani. Later I try to think about the way back," said Dani preventing Mamah Yuli who was about to approach Aidha in her room.
Mamah Yuli nodded and rubbed her son's arm, "Sabar Dan, Aidha is a good boy. Mom is sure of that. Prepare your meal for you first."
Dani shook her head and blocked Mama Yuli's hand. "No need, Mah. Dani ate at the office. I'll take a shower."
Dani went to her room on the second floor. Next to Salwa's room. Open the door knob and enter the room four by three meters. He lay down for a while in bed while closing his eyes. There was no clear liquid passing through the corner of his eye.
She cried. But, crying over who? Is it because of Aidha's attitude towards him? Apparently that's not why he cried, Dani cried because he remembered Inaya. Maybe true said Aidha, if first he prevented her to get pregnant again the risk of it can be avoided. Mamah Yuli entered and made her shocked.
"What are you crying about, Dan?"
Dani tried to hide her sadness but was caught by her mother.
"I'm not crying, Mah." He tried to squirm.
"This old woman who took care of you from childhood. How can you lie the same, Mom? Why?" force Mamah Yuli.
Dani let out a long sigh, "Try Inaya wasn't pregnant anymore, Mah. He must be in our midst."
"And you're so grown up. You also know about religion. Destiny cannot be determined by ourselves. God is the best judge of us."
"Never think like that, Dan. Trust God, there will be something beautiful. Mama is sure of that! Mama is sure happiness will soon approach you!"
Dani said istighfar. Being aware of his thoughts and words just now was a very inappropriate thing for him to do. Doubtful and suspicious of what created us? Isn't that inappropriate? Like kufr delights herself.
Dani nodded and immediately went into the bathroom. Flush all parts of his body with warm water so that his muscles become relaxed. Inside the white room he deliberately lingered to enjoy every drop of water that passed through his body. Calms the mind and takes a moment away from all the problems that are afflicting it.
Downstairs, Salwa is ready to teach with her papa. The aidha? He wouldn't teach if the one who taught him was Dani. Therefore, Mamah Yuli told Rida, her second child, to find a new teacher for Aidha and Salwa.
"So, tomorrow's the end comes, Mbah?" asked Salwa enthusiastically.
Mamah Yuli nodded, "Yes, tomorrow the ustazah comes here. Three o'clock in the afternoon, so Salwa should be ready, huh? Pity her if her waste waits for you too long."
"Ready, Mbah! Salwa tomorrow at two is ready here. Hi-hi-hi."
"Ha-ha-ha, it doesn't take two hours either, Nduk! You are funny!" Mamah Yuli pinched Salwa's cheek in anxiety.
Dani came down and joined them. Seeking for the existence of Aidha. "Let Aidha teach Mamah, you teach Salwa" orders Mamah Yuli.
Dani agreed. Because if he forced his will again on Aidha, the thing that would happen was a commotion again. So, she chose to give up and not to harass her daughter for a while.
"Well, there was someone who bought the hijab of Mamah one fruit. The quadrilateral syar'i. The money is still in Dani's wallet" Dani said.
"Yes, we'll talk about that later." Mamah Yuli walked up to Aidha's room.
"Where's the salary, Sal?" dani asked her second child.
Salwa opened her Koran. She has her favorite pink cover. There is translation and tajwid in it. The letters are large, making it easier for people to read.
"Read Al-Fatihah's letter once, Sal," Dani orders Salwa.
Salwa nodded following her papa's instructions. Then began to teach chanting holy verses. Salwa has not been too fluent in reading conjunctions. So, sometimes Dani has to correct her reading.
"It's buzzing, Sal. Look at this, tajwidnya."
Salwa repeated her reading until it was felt to be true by Dani. Unlike the Aidha who has been very long in pronunciation. Only five minutes later he finished his reading.
"Aidha, this Mbah is old. The age of the Mbah is not much anymore." Mamah Yuli started the conversation when muroja'ah was finished.
"Bah, Mbah, what the hell is that talking? Aidha doesn't like it!" irritated Aidha because Mamah Yuli suddenly talked about age.
"Oh, Mbah is old. It is proper that Mbah be called to Allah. But, Mbah is still not calm if Aidha behaves like that same Papah."
Aidha was silent listening to his grandmother's words. "Can Aidha be more polite the same, papah?"
"If Aidha thought the death of the mother was due to papa, Aidha was wrong. Papa is a man who lost his mother. Just like Aidha. Death belongs to God, Nduk. Don't scapegoat papah in this case."
"No one knows, Nduk," said Mamah Yuli patted Aidha on the shoulder and walked away leaving her first grandchild in the room.
Aidha pondered to himself. Silence and silence greeted him back. "Mom, Aidha kangen ..., hiks." Aidha was carried away to tears.
