"Since when?"
"It's been a long time, and lately it's starting to get worse again" Zein replied with a sad look.
While waiting for the elevator to stop, he explained about Grandpa's condition to Almira. There was a look of worry on the man's face. Since his parents died in an accident twenty years ago, his grandfather was the only family Zein had. Therefore Zein is willing to do anything for the sake of happiness as well as the recovery of Hadi Adijaya. However, Zein could not possibly be able to resist the will of fate.
People only looked at Zein as a perfect figure who lacked nothing. People will always look on in envy, compare everything to him and hope to be in his position. They seem to forget that nothing in this world is perfect. Zein Azzam Adijaya also.
Who knew that Zein was actually just a fragile figure trying to become strong? It is so fragile that he tries so hard that others cannot find his weakness. Pretending to be perfect in front of everyone was not an easy thing to do. That is what makes him close himself from every woman, to forget the warmth in his heart. The warmth that until now only he showed for one person, namely his grandfather.
"Why has Grandpa never mentioned it?"
Zein glanced at the girl, then sneered, "who are you?" he said without any sense of sin.
Of course he knew this woman meant a lot to his grandfather. Otherwise, grandfather would not have remembered him in such critical moments. However, Zein did not want Almira to find out. He didn't want this woman getting bigger.
The deg! Almira's heart throbbed at the question. He felt offended was also strange. Zein is right. He is really nobody. Then, since he was a nobody, why did this cold creature bring him here?
"You're right. It's freaky. I'm a nobody, so why did you bring me here?" insinuations.
The elevator stopped and the door opened on the top floor, the fifteenth floor. "Isn't it because you're too smart?"
Smart to pretend to make his grandfather fooled! That's what Zein thought. Zein went outside first, without waiting for a response from Almira.
Almira followed Zein, looking at her wide back questioningly. "What does that mean?"
***
"Who is currently looking after Grandpa?"
Zein did not answer. He continued to step without caring about Almira who occasionally had to run small to follow him.
"Can it be a little slower?" almira's grumbling that had been ignored by Zein.
Zein still didn't care about it. It was as if she thought that such a beautiful woman had never existed. Almira again made sighing by his behavior that often changes.
"What's wrong? A little angry. You freak," he grumbled.
In front of the VVIP room were seen several people in black clothes lined up neatly on the right and left sides. Almira did not feel too surprised, given the position of such an important grandfather, as the elder of the Adijaya group. Surely, his safety must have been prioritized.
Almira followed Zein who had already entered first. No one stopped him, because they had already seen that Almira was coming with her master. Although his master's attitude was strange, but he didn't order anything to them. So, they did not dare to be disrespectful to Almira.
Almira stood sculpting after she entered the VVIP room. His eyes looked in amazement at the interaction that took place between Young Master Adijaya and his grandfather.
"I guess people don't seem to have a heart" he said.
The young master who had never once shown his warmth and tenderness out there, was now speaking softly and smiling sweetly to his grandfather. His attitude was clearly full of affection.
"He looks more handsome when he smiles" he thought.
Almira. What's he thinking?
Even so Almira did not feel his attitude was wrong or felt wronged. This is a very rare moment, which not everyone can see. Wasn't he among the lucky ones to be able to witness it in person?
"Should I perpetuate this moment?" muttered. Almira secretly picks up her phone and photographs the rare moment, unbeknownst to them.
"Mira, why stand up? Come here, son," called Grandpa in a weak voice, but it could still be heard by Almira.
Noticing someone who was just standing at the door, grandfather waved his hand. Grandpa's hand held Almira. He hung up his phone, then kept it back.
Almira walked up to the old man, both corners of her lips widening a smile.
"Grandfather ...." Almira grabbed the wrinkled hand of Hadi Adijaya, without caring for Zein who was looking at her disliked.
Almira's heart was filled with such questions. He stared at the old man.
"Don't Mira have to ask that question?" he said with a sad tone.
Grandpa laughed, comforted. He looked at Almira affectionately. Just like when the old man looked at Zein. Seeing Almira still wearing her nightgown, Grandpa felt guilty. He glared at Zein furiously. Grandpa knew Zein must have taken her by force. The one glared at melengos, pretending to be innocent.
"Are you worried about this old man, son?" ask Grandpa with a smile.
Almira nodded. "of course. Since Grandpa didn't inform me, no one has been treating me for the past few weeks!" the chant with a pouting face.
Grandpa laughed, while Zein snorted. "Basic is shameless!"
The two people in front of him turned to him, glaring at him with sour faces. Zein's lips twitched. Why did he feel that he was currently the only outsider? Who is Grandpa's real granddaughter?
Seeing the two smiling and joking with familiarity, Zein's lips involuntarily curved up. I don't know why his heart is calm. There is a tickling feeling in his heart, between the pleasure also doubt.
'Could it not be as I thought? Could it be that this woman was really sincere and had nothing to do with Damar Wiryawan?' Zein's heart was struggling.
"Zein, come here, son," Grandpa asked. Zein snapped out of his mind, then approached.
Grandfather looked at Zein then lightly patted the bed on his right, hinting for Zein to sit there.
Zein refused. He chose to take a chair not far from him and sit there.
Grandpa pouted but said nothing. One on the left, and one on the right. Grandpa was very happy. Almira occasionally rubbed Grandpa's left hand that was being attached to the infusion, feeling sorry. The hand that was already clenched looked blue. That made him so full.
"Being among you, grandfather feels that grandfather's life is very valuable" said the grandfather suddenly. His eyes looked cloudy, but there was no sadness.
"Myts .... Maybe, Grandpa's age won't be long."
"Grandfather, don't talk no-no!" Zein's upset.
"Shut up!" snapped grandpa. The old man's face shriveled, looking in pain.
"Grandfather!" zein and Almira said at the same time. They both approached grandfather. Almira rubbed his shoulders slowly, while Zein rubbed Grandpa's chest slowly.
"Don't interrupt Grandpa, bad grandson!" Zein fell silent.
"Before Grandpa leaves, may Grandpa ask you one request?" said the weak grandfather, staring at them in turn. His eyes were filled with hope.
Husain, who had guessed grandfather's wish, could only fall silent. While Almira was no longer able to stem the tears she had been holding back. The clear crystal finally fell, drenching his delicate cheeks. Sometimes he rubbed his tears violently.
Grandfather raised his right hand, then gently rubbed the tears on Almira's face. "Stupid girl! Stop crying."
"Grandfather ...." Almira hugged the old body as she pleased. "Don't be like this. Didn't Grandpa say Grandpa would live long?" Almira sobbing.
Almira's cry made Grandpa's heart ache.
But how else? The age of a person no one knows. Death is not negotiable.
"Grandpa said Grandpa wanted to see Mira get married. Grandpa wants to see Mira smiling happily with the person Mira loves, right? Grandpa promised, didn't he?" Almira.
Almira really doesn't want to lose grandfather this fast. Although they were only strangers who had only known each other for a few months, Almira knew that grandfather really loved her. Grandpa was the only one who cared about him. The one who last few months gave color to his life. It was the love he never got from his parents.
"So, Mira wants to grant that grandfather's wish?" Grandpa rubbed Almira's head gently.
Almira looked up at him.
"Wedding. That's the last thing Grandpa wants from you."
