Struggle
A slightly heartburn stomach woke me up. Scroll the clock on the wall showing the number four past thirty minutes. It did not enter at dawn.
I got down slowly from the bed. When I was about to step, suddenly liquid came out from the bottom of my body. My heart started pounding fast with anxiety. The rustling of the floor was already wet, the color was not like blood.
"Mas, wake up! Do I want to give birth?" I touched Ridho's arm strongly in panic.
"Huh?" Ridho immediately woke up and rubbed his face. "It's time, Yang?"
We last saw a doctor three weeks ago. I'm entering week two. Estimated birth at the end of the month or early next month. It is only the twelfth.
"Ga know me, Mas. But there's liquid on the floor. I'm .. confused."
Ridho got up from the bed and looked at the floor I was pointing at. His forehead was cringing at the incomprehensible omen. Shortly thereafter, an anxious look of gurat appeared on his face.
"We're going to the midwife now, huh?"
I'm grateful Ridho didn't panic ."Yes, Mas. I took a bath."
Ridho nodded slowly. I rushed to the bathroom. When changing clothes, my husband prayed Fajr at home. In order to hurry away, I was afraid there was nothing with me to leave.
We went to the midwife whose clinic is located close to Mom's house. I used to check once because I had a false contraction at my parents' house. Once there, the sun began to shine. Ridho knocked on the door of the clinic which was still closed.
"Yes. Why, Mas?" ask the young lady after answering our greetings.
"My wife seems to be giving birth, Ma'am. There's out that fluid."
"Liquid? Come in first, Mas. Midwife is taking a bath."
"Good, Ma'am."
We were also taken into the check room. There is a bed and a sofa. Shortly after, the midwife came out. He greeted us kindly.
"Where, Ma'am? Any issues?"
"So dawn came out of my V, ma'am."
"much? Now still out?"
"Still, Mom. A little bit, anyway."
"The establishment seeped in it, Ma'am. Buy a pad, yeah. Let's not get wet with the pants."
"Good, Mom. What is my wife, Mom?"
"We checked again. Let my assistant get ready for the equipment."
"Yes, Mom. I'll call the family first."
Ridho also contacted my mother to come to our place. Fifteen minutes waiting, Mom and Dad arrived at the clinic. Their faces looked worried.
"There's no sign of a birth, son?" ask Mother.
I try to strengthen myself. "The establishment is seeping said Madam midwife, ma'am."
"Yes Allah. I hope nothing happens, yeah. So how's next?"
"Let's be checked first his midwife said. Ridho's out right now, ma'am. Asked Midwife to buy a pad."
"Yes, Son. Let us wait for Reva."
After Ridho's death I was asked to lie in bed. So that the liquid is not too much out. My mother asked me to be strong and patient. Maybe fear drop considering the first pregnancy first.
"Pray a lot, son. Leave all hope to God."
"Yes, Mom." I chanted hope in my heart while stroking my stomach.
"You've been contacted?"
"Ga know, Mom. Ridho who holds HP."
"That, huh? Maybe Ridho told me."
I just nodded. My mother nodded her head while asking me to pray. Moments later the midwife and her assistant came into the room. They do a VT (******Test) to check the openings.
"There are no openings, ma'am. We'll wait until noon, yeah. If there is no development, surgery is necessary."
I widened my eyes. Very surprised by what the midwife said. "O-operation, Mom?"
"Yes, Mother. Fear of anything happening with the baby if long-acted. It could have been dry."
"Oh God!" I closed my eyes.
I don't feel my tears dripping. I stroked my stomach gently. Hope my future strong will survive.
"But it's time, Midwife?" ask Mother.
"Patience, Mom. We check the condition of the fetus first," said the midwife with a smile. "Dec, please baby heart detector" he asked the assistant.
The assistant midwife rushed to provide a detection device. The midwife put the device in my stomach. Sounds and sounds like pulses.
"That's his heart-pounding voice. It can already be born," explained the midwife after finishing checking.
We can only nod. There was a sound of steps ahead. Ridho had already returned with a few parcels in his hand.
"Please assisted by his mother install a bandage. Can eat first so there's no Reva's no energy."
"Good, Mom." Ridho helped me stand up and walk to the bathroom.
"Sickness, Yang?"
I shook my head slowly. "I ... Nervous, Mas. Scared."
"Don't worry, dear .. sure that God will give his grace if it is ours."
Kuhela breath feels tight. "Yes, Mas. Aamiin's."
Back in the room, Mom is preparing food for me. Put the rice that Ridho bought earlier into the plate. Mom scoops the rice and wants to feed me.
"Let me alone, Mom. I can, though."
"Ngga papa, honey. Reva just sit down."
I finally gave up on letting Mom do her wish. Mother fed the rice slowly while encouraging me. Ridho stroked the top of my head, then went out to see the Father.
An hour passed, the midwife went in to do VT again. Ridho clasped my fingers tightly. I heard a scream that wanted to come out. A worried look on Ridho's face.
"New opening one, Ma'am. If two more hours of openings are not added, it seems to have to be born through surgery."
***
It doesn't feel like two hours have passed. Midwife does VT back. I just grimaced with the pain. Ridho hugged me after the midwife finished her duties.
"Retap the opening one. We're getting ready for the hospital, yeah."
"Can't you be born normally, ma'am?" my question is, a little pain imagining the stomach will be dissected.
The midwife nodded. "Baby's love. Bring all the supplies to the hospital, yeah. I'll call the doctor first."
It sounds like the midwife is calling a doctor. He told me about my condition. An operation agreement will be reached this afternoon as well.
"His doctor now has a sc schedule there. We'll be there in a minute, yeah. Two o'clock in the afternoon can enter the room OK."
"Good, Mom. Thank you," said Ridho.
I just nodded. Give all that will happen to God the owner of nature. Continue to send prayers so that the process of the birth of our children is smooth and safe.
"Oh yes. Ma'am please apologize and beg the parents' blessing, yes. So that the birth process is facilitated."
"Yes, Mom. Thanks." Thanks."
I approached Mom and kissed her hand. "I'm sorry if I'm wrong, ma'am. Pray for me and my baby."
"Yes, Son. We must wish you all the best."
I did the same thing to my father. My first love was just nodding and stroking the top of her son's head. My heart is full of newness.
