Yahya bin Syarf An Nawawi rahimahullah explained, there are two meanings of the hadith. First, God will bless and eliminate the harmful effects of the treasure. The loss of property will be closed with its blessing.

Second, when viewed from the number, the treasures might be reduced. But the reduction will be replaced with a reward on the side of Allah and will be increased by many multiples. And his blessing, the treasure we give up increases. God says:

وَمَا أَنْفَقْتُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَهُوَ يُخْلِفُهُ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ

“And whatever you spend, Allah will replace it and He is the best giver of sustenance.” (QS. Saba’: 39).

"Whoever gives a loan to Allah, a good loan (forgive his wealth in the way of Allah), Allah will multiply the payment to him by a large double. And Allah narrows and widens (lust) and to Him you are returned.” (QS. Al Baqara: 245).
