Replacement Lantern

Replacement Lantern
Chapters 07. Replacement Lantern

Kenzo's black sports car stopped in front of the hospital area. After three ambulances that seemed to be carrying emergency patients, sirens sounded repetitive and very tight. Inside Kenzo's sling, the half-conscious Lantern could only silently endure the pain.

"DOCTORRRRRRR!"

Kenzo's screams sounded jarring. From the inside, the hospital attendants came carrying three medical gurneys. The doctors swiftly picked up their respective emergency patients. They shoulder to shoulder moved the patient from the ambulance, then took him inside.

No hospital staff came to Kenzo to help. The man was still carrying the weak body of the lantern. He had already arrived before the ambulance. Forced Kenzo to block one of the doctors from going inside.

"Excuse me! I have to take care of the patients!" The doctor's forehead seemed wrinkled, annoyed by the man standing before him while holding a girl.

"ARE YOU BLIND? THERE'S STILL YOUR PATIENTS HERE!" reply Kenzo sharply.

The doctor glimpsed at the lantern that was enduring the pain. There was no emergency, he felt the previous patient was much more in need of treatment. Moreover, the patient had very severe injuries due to a traffic accident.

"Sorry Sir! The attendants will be coming in a little while, the previous patients need me much more. Excuse me!" said the Doctor.

"Do you think he doesn't need handling, now? You don't see him in pain?" Kenzo's impact again stopped the man's doctor's steps. "He can't wait anymore!"

Stop Master, it's not usually that you're stupid like this! Why are you impatient?

Jeff is about to break up. Sometimes Kenzo can't think clearly in an emergency. But it seems from inside a doctor and nurse came carrying a gurney undo Jeff's intentions.

Looking at his face, the Doctor replied to Kenzo. A little upset because the man was impatient. However, a female voice dismissed their hot gaze.

"Let me handle it, Doctor Reza just come in!" said Doctor Findri. Come with a nurse while pushing a gurney.

"Thank you Doctor Findri." Doctor Reza turned his head cynically at Kenzo, then ran away to the IGD room.

"It's so arrogant of him!" muttered Kenzo while putting the lantern on top of the gurney.

"Dok, sick!" lirih Lanterns, even barely audible in the ears of Doctor Findri.

"That's why I asked you to go through the examination this morning" said Dr. Findri.

Can Lanterns feel, gurney moves quickly towards the ER room. His weak gaze caught Kenzo's figure pushing along. Until now the lantern does not know what its name is. But if the lips can still speak, Lantern wants to say thank you to him.

The door of the IGD chamber was closed, just after the lantern's gurney had entered. Kenzo almost went in if no nurse was blocking his steps. Kenzo was still standing in front of the door, with a restless heart without knowing what the cause was.

"Argh shit!" Even that curse is meaningless. "Why is the handling here so slow? What if he's in danger?"

"Are you worried about him now?"

Jeff's question stirred up Kenzo's consciousness a little. They just met this morning, even the introduction has not yet happened. Then why worry about her so much? Kenzo threw away his face and gritted his teeth. Sit in the available chair.

"I'm not worried about him! Just feel sorry to see him in such pain!" call Kenzo.

"If you're not worried, then we'd better get back to the company, sir. Mr. Malik needs your signature, for his next project."

One of Kenzo's men came and handed him a small black bag. Jeff accepted it, then sat down next to Kenzo. There is still urgent work to be done. Jeff is a typical guy who does not like to beat around the bush at work.

"Put that netbook back in!" Kenzo knew Jeff was about to discuss work. In a moment of uneasiness like this, Kenzo might be able to do it. "Then get your phone!"

"For what, sir?"

"Hurry now!" Kenzo's Order. "Tell Malik to wait for tomorrow, I don't want to work!"

Jeff pulled the corner of his lips. He knew Kenzo was trying to hide his anxiety. "Do you need a sedative, sir?"

"Jeff!" Kenzo glared sharply, feeling that he was getting ridicule from his assistant.

Kenzo clenched his hands after seeing his feet still calm enough to be said to be shaking. Instantly he threw a sharp look. If the door to the ER room did not open first, Kenzo might have kicked his assistant into a bum.

"How's Dok doing? Is she okay? Why is he in such pain?" Kenzo's question series. As if not allowing Doctor Findri to breathe for a moment. As if he did not want one small thing to be missed from the explanation of the female doctor.

"Relax sir, the lanterns are fine. He only had a mild dislocation to his shoulder. I've done the reduction, put the bone back in its original position."

Hearing the lantern was fine was enough to make Kenzo feel relieved. A faint smile had been imprinted before Kenzo was dumbstruck at noticing it. Why so relieved? Though previously he was very agitated, as if the fear of loss continues to haunt his mind.

Aye! He has always lost everyone he loves. From the birth mother, first love, then affection from the family and Vanessa. Maybe this time he just felt anxious because of the trauma. Traveling and losing have tossed too much of Kenzo's life.

"You said light? Then why did he faint?"

"I think it's because he hasn't filled his stomach since the accident this morning. He didn't even take the medicine I had prescribed" Dr Findri said. While inside earlier, Lantern had indeed told him the truth.

Kenzo walked in, shortly after Doctor Findri's departure. The lantern was leaning against a pillow above the gurney. The girl's eyes were still closed, until footsteps made her realize. Lanterns turned.

"Om still here?" Plain question Lanterns say. He didn't know what to say to greet him that dignified handsome man.

"Stupid!" One word sounds painful in the ear. Kenzo was still staring at the lantern as he approached. "If you can't take care of yourself, at least don't bother others!"

Again, the sentence sounded painful after it was spoken. Kenzo even regrets it. He just wanted to know how the girl was doing, but it wasn't easy to ask directly.

"Who wants to trouble others too! If you don't want to be bothered, why take me to his house earlier." The lantern muttered, sounding a little unclear indeed. But Kenzo's sharp ears can still catch him. Not with Jeff who is behind Kenzo.

"I heard!" Kenzo wanted to be angry, but felt a little pity when he saw his ailing condition. "Do you think this hospital is cheap?"

Suddenly the sentence was spoken, but Kenzo did not mean to say it. It was just that he was annoyed with Lanterns that seemed to not care about his injured body even to the point of starvation.

"Om already paying him?" tanya Lantern. He hesitated to hear the answer. It would actually be much better if not to ask him earlier.

"you reckon? Who else will pay for it?"

"Sorry, Om!"

"Don't call me, Om!"

"Ah yes, sorry. I promise I'll replace it later," the lantern failed. He was confused what to say.

"had him? By what?" Kenzo hesitated whether or not the girl actually had the money. "Your stomach is just filled with pegs! Then what's my money going to be replaced with?"

The lanterns are silent. He also doesn't know what to replace it with. Eating alone is difficult, especially having to replace the money. "I'll work on it!" ogre.

"What usaha?" Kenzo stared at the lantern from head to toe. "Ah right! Your name is Lantern, right? How about replacing it with one of your organs?"

Kenzo's grin looks terrible. He just wanted to scare the girl. "Your kidneys have two, right?"

Instantly the Lantern bent its knees, trying to protect its remaining two kidneys. Ah no, isn't it just two kidneys? Ah the time of the bodo, the important thing is that he must protect two of his valuable assets now.

Kenzo is moving closer and closer now. It was so fun to prank the girl. "Let me see, is one of them still healthy?"

"JANGGGAAAANNNN! MY KIDNEYS ONLY HAVE TWO!"
