The queen who heard the son's story instantly hit him with all her might. "I told you to keep your authority, why even play around?"
"Do you know what I'm doing? Why did I get hit?"
"You should be able to maintain your dignity as a prince, instead of playing unimportant things."
"I accuse." Bence rubbed the hand his mother hit. "The Queen never hits her children, why do you always hit me?"
"Significantly I care about you, the empress' children have never been taken care of by the empress, it is natural that they never get hit. Again you repeat the dangerous thing, I will punish you."
"Yes, I understand mom."
"Back in the room, I don't want to get into trouble with your father."
Bence's face turned sullen. "I don't want to meet dad's army, terrible. They don't like to be joked around and just stand still like statues, I'd rather be here with mom."
"Go back to the room before the emperor punishes you more, did you not hear his orders clearly?"
"Did mom hear that too? I'm fainting." Bence then ran out of the room.
The queen who was about to raise her hand, sighed as the troublemaker walked out of her room. "Why did my son turn horrible? What past sins have I committed?"
The problem is the emperor,
--------
Birendra region, the empress' family. A few days before the arrest of the queen's men who tried to bring down the empress in the family territory of the empress.
"You! What are you carrying?" Shouted one of the gatekeepers while poking at the passing carriage. "Show us."
A man sitting next to the coachman, got down and immediately spoke to the guard. "We just brought food as usual."
"Would the food be distributed to the imperial palace?"
"Yes, yeah."
"Open the lid and I'll check."
"Please, please." The man hurriedly entered the carriage whose roof was closed so as not to damage the goods to be sold.
The man pointed out the good stuff at the top and then carefully closed it as if it were a precious item. "Well, it's done, isn't it? Now let us pass through the gate and sell these items to Duke Birendra."
"Is it just this train? Is there another train?"
"Ten cars in the back are mine, all goods are guaranteed as good as mine now. If you don't believe me, please check."
"Good! I'll check everything!"
"Y-yeah?"
"DROP DOWN ALL THE CARRIERS AND THE PEOPLE NEXT TO HIM! CHECK THE ITEMS INSIDE THOSE TEN CARRIAGES! NO ONE IS MISSED!" The gatekeeper's orders.
The man panicked and tried to block the examination of the other guards. "Wait on! What are you guys gonna do? Ruin our merchandise? Do you want to take responsibility if there is damage?!"
"We just want to check all the stuff, why are you trying to get in the way?"
"Don't you know how we, the farmers, are trying to produce good products like this? Huh! It's great! Duke Birendra is already arbitrary towards farmers like ka-"
The man fell silent and turned nervous.
The other guard took out many crates from inside the carriage and checked many of the poor quality feed ingredients were placed under it while the good ones were deliberately placed at the top to avoid suspicion.
The man who had shouted angrily and dared to fight the officer became nervous and walked backwards until he accidentally hit the armor of one of the knights.
The knight who was hit instantly covered the man's mouth with a cloth and tightly tied his hands together so as not to commit suicide.
Aether came out from behind a tree and wore a brown coat that could not be recognized by the outside. Only the undercover guards knew of his figure.
"As you ordered, we've checked all the items and indeed many rotten ones. What should we do, Crown Prince?" Ask the confidant knight Aether disguised as a gatekeeper.
Aether shook her head in disappointment at not checking all of these foodstuffs, if sent to the capital as scheduled, the duchy Birendra's name would decline and the emperor could not save the empress' family. "Capture those involved and torture them until they answer who's behind it."
"Good!"
Aether returns to the crown prince's palace with a witch behind her.
"Crown prince."
Aether that has been welcomed by the servants by removing his coat, automatically turning back the body. "What's wrong?"
Aether is lucky, one of her servants is a descendant of a witch and can use the portal, the servant is named Zee.
Zee panics when Aether is relaxed. "How can you explain to the emperor when you travel far in such a short period of time?"
"Ah." Aether understands Zee's concerns. Zee's mother was one of the slave descendants of witches who served the Count family. Zee's biological father is the present Count, a supporter of the queen while Zee is banished in the crown prince's palace, as if everyone knows the future. "We don't need to tell everyone about your privilege, does the count know you can magic?"
"No, my mother desperately told me to keep the status." Zee replied worriedly then glanced at the maids around the crown prince. He did not want to be put to death or become a slave just because he could have magic.
Zee himself was also careless because the crown prince saw himself cleaning the room using magic.
Aether could see fear in Zee's eyes. "You need not worry, there will be no one who can punish the confidants of the crown prince. If I can't protect myself, you can escape."
Zee felt bad about Aether's words. "Ma-I'm sorry, Crown Prince. I didn't mean to"
The servant must die with the crown prince, it has been an unwritten covenant long ago.
Zee kowtowed at Aether's feet with a trembling tone. "I won't betray, please don't throw me the crown prince."
Aether sighed, it seemed like she had to change the servants' thinking regarding the concept of following the master to death. "Once this bullshit is over, I must meet the emperor. Change your clothes and don't make anyone suspicious."
Zee got up and bowed respectfully to Aether. "Thank you, crown prince."
Aether nodded briefly then read all the documents given by her grandfather.
Grandfather at first did not agree to send food distribution to the imperial palace, but given the empress fell ill and had difficulty eating the queen proposed to buy groceries from the Birendra region as a whole.
Grandfather still disagreed, but the emperor who thought about the empress' condition started to deteriorate, finally issued the order that the queen suggested.
If grandfather wanted to blame someone then the ones to blame were the butler as well as the people in Birendra region. That means-
The deg!
Aether has just discovered one important fact. There's an intruder in Birendra's territory and it's starting to mess up.
