The atmosphere inside the kitchen became awkward when the emperor suddenly appeared and reprimanded Selena.

Quietly the emperor heaved a sigh of relief as his son was still willing to call the father behind.
The emperor cleared his throat then turned to Aelia, he guessed the woman's gaze must have been amazed at him. But her guess was wrong, Aelia threw a look of disdain at the emperor.
The emperor was confused.
Selena placed the fish on the kitchen table and folded both hands in front of the chest. "Why is the honorable emperor here? Do you want to see the dirty work we do?"
The Emperor replied calmly, he was already getting used to Selena's critical attitude. "I came to see the empress, I didn't think I'd even see you guys busy in the kitchen. Is there no waiter to take care of?"

"Since childhood." Answer the emperor
"Since childhood?" Aether did not believe it. "I've never seen Dad cook at all."
"Of course the Emperor's job was to work in the office, not the kitchen. I used to love fishing and grilling my own fish with the servants. Since then I've loved doing everything independently."
Selena still disliked the presence of the emperor. "Didn't you go to the harem to comfort the concubines? I heard that the concubines are now helping with the birthday of Cassia's beloved daughter."
The emperor was not tempted. "Let them do their own fun."

The queen who was happily gathering with the concubines after duke Aruna left, was shocked when she heard the unexpected report. "What's? Try to repeat, who went to the Empress's palace?"
