Night Stories (2)

The test itself is held at exactly noon. Gerald, who came from the end of the city, already knew about it and he came right at noon.

By the time registration is opened, many people in long queues take their respective order cards. And Gerald got the last sequence number. Nevertheless, Gerald remained grateful. At least he still gets the participant card, because there are many people behind him can not card participants/sequences, which led to not be able to take part in his test

...----------------...

Gerald and the other participants were directed to an arena, surrounded by the higher-ups and the heads of each faction.

In each Kingdom there are eight factions with more than one hundred members and one chairman in each of these factions.

“The test is about to begin. Hope every participant gathers immediately to the source of the sound.” Gerald who heard the voice, immediately rushed to run towards the direction of the sound.

It did not take long, all participants including Gerald had gathered to the middle of the arena and were greeted by the officials and leaders of various factions who were sitting on top while staring at the participants.

“Good, all gathered. Next, the King who will take over the role.”

The participants were noisy, talking to each other with people beside him even though they had never known each other before.

After five minutes, the match began.

During the game, Gerald witnessed many unique powers. They fought each other. One by one the participants began to fall, while Gerald only watched the fight between participants.

Not only him, but some of the participants did the same. Nevertheless, it turns out this strategy is effective because it does not need to waste a lot of energy.

Fifteen minutes passed, the number of participants remaining was few. He prepared in his fighting position, as well as some participants who had not previously fought like Gerald.

After the match ended, the fallen participants were taken to a health facility in the Kingdom.

...----------------...

“After that what is Yah?” Abel asked enthusiastically.

Dad smiled knot, “After from that match, Gerald received the strongest faction within the Kingdom.”

The fragrant aroma of cooking began to smell, “All the rules in the faction were indeed strict, but Gerald could deal with it easily.” Mom chimed in on Dad's words.

Dad nodded, “Strict rules, heavy missions, hope from the residents there day after day passed Gerald easily, as no significant changes in his life.”

“Hah? Is it heavy, huh? Not if the population is more hopeful with us, we are even more excited?” I subconsciously cut off Dad's words.

Father slightly chuckled waving, “Indeed right. The more they expect us, the more excited we become. But if it happens constantly, it is the expectations of the community that little by little burdensome burden is carried by every member of the popular faction.”

I started putting dishes with rice and side dishes, “If you think the end of Gerald's story is only the greatest and strongest warrior, you three are wrong.” This time I continued my story.

“In six years, he did get sympathy from the community. Even became the vice chairman of his faction. But in those times Gerald's worst times, even if he could erase his own memories, he would definitely do it.” Dad distributed our dinner rations.

“Just on the day of his ascension as the vice chairman of the faction, his younger brother named Aarav has become a fugitive of the Kingdom.”

Tetam lower hand, “Buronan?”

Mom smiled, then nodded. “Iya, but Tetam, you still describe it using your strength. So that the story gets more interesting.”

Tetam nodded, starting to raise his hand.

“Gerald was given thirty days to kill his sister. At first he did not know that the fugitive was his own sister, because in the leaflet poster did not include the name ‘Aarav’ in it.”

“But after they met and looked at each other, Gerald knew that it was his sister. Although his face and physique were already very different, but he felt a strong bond.”

“Nah Abel.” Mother offered water to Tetam who was choking, then she drank it savagely like three days without drinking.

“Gerald knew that his sister had taken advantage of others, but he couldn't change his sister's thinking just like that. The fight was inevitable. Every slash that was thrown at Aarav about him, then his little heartache.”

“But even though his heart was sliced, Gerald continued the fight until Gerald won the fight. Gerald thought that Aarav would become the greatest knight in the Kingdom. Every day he imagined fighting with his own sister, then after that they shook hands with respect.”

“but he never imagined this day to happen. Aarav, The Disaster died in his own hands.”

“He decided to take his sister's body to the Royal Palace, hoping to be buried properly. But badas, let alone be pitied, glimpsed was reluctant. They even burned his sister's body and showed it to all the community.”

“Add again his heartache. A week after the incident, he was betrothed by the King to his eldest daughter. Because the King has no sons to inherit his throne.”

“Short story, he married and became King. Residents cheered to celebrate Gerald ascending the throne as King.”

“Completed.”

“Completed?” I asked the snob.

“Yes, it's done. The story is over, dinner is over. Hihi..” Tetam.

Hm? I looked around. Oh? It's true! All that much food was gone!

“Dad, what is a real story?” Abel helped me pile up dinner plates.

Dad licks his remaining fingers– leftovers, “Oh, yes. That's a true story. Do you want to know his full name?” We nodded simultaneously.

I chuckled, then told. “The full name is Gerald Anastasia.”

Tetam lowered his hand, “It means..”.

“Iya. This is the story of the journey of the King's life in the present Nak Tetam.” Dad chimed.

I stood up, washed my hands. So did Tetam and Abel (after he helped stack the dishes).

I looked at Tetam carefully, “Why are you washing your hands too? Wasn't that just your shadow that you used to eat?”

Tetam chuckles, “Follow it Brother, hehe..” I patted the jidat.

Abel finished wiping his hands, “Come, do not linger there, later run out of water we can not pay.” Tetam and I nodded, rubbed their foaming hands quickly, then wiped them onto the washcloth beside him.

After washing my hands, I directed them both to my new room, at least new to me.

“Well, now the three of us will sleep in this room. Dad and Mom will sleep next door, you don't mind Adrian?”

I smiled, shook my head. “This is enough Abel. I used to sleep behind a big dumpster with my sister.”

Abel nodded. Tetam and I spilled over, and Abel grabbed a large blanket over the wooden cabinet.
