One year later,
A beautiful girl of small stature came down from the stairs of her house and headed to the dining room where all the family members had gathered. Singing his favorite song, he wrapped his body while walking.
"Duh, it seems like you are very happy, baby," said Disha who was arranging food on the table.
"Yes, Bi. Did I not tell Auntie?" ask the girl who is Khania.
"What story?" Disha was enthusiastic.
"I managed to solve the mystery quiz held on campus!" khania shouted with a sparkle.
Disha was a little stunned by Khania's story. He did not expect if his nephew downgraded the talent of his mother who is a detective. Plus, Khania chose law at the university where she is studying now.
At first Disha somewhat objected to Khania's choice. Of course he was afraid that if the shadow of Khania's dark times returned the girl remembered.
But after consulting with Ray, in fact the man agreed with what Khania chose. The method carried out by Noel a year ago is still safe until now. And Khania lived her days with great joy.
"I didn't expect my cousin to be so smart, Mom" Alan said. Alan, who had to continue his father's business, preferred the management business department in the same campus as Khania.
"Yeah, if you want to investigate the girl you like, then I can do it!" khania Goda to Alan.
"What did you say?!" Alan's face was red. Khania knows that Alan is trying to get close to one of the girls on his campus.
"Girls majoring in law are very lucrative, aren't they?" again and again Khania seduces Alan.
"You guys! Remember yes! Aunty doesn't allow you to find a boyfriend at your very young age. You too, Alan. I don't agree you have a lover. Just focus on your studies!" disha Advice.
Alan bowed. He could not deny his mother's orders.
"Honey, let the kids manage the taste in their hearts. After all, their youth is the golden age where love is growing up." Dika followed their conversation.
"Hmm, you're this!" Disha relented and did not want to argue with her husband.
After breakfast, Khania returned to her room because she had to pick up bags and textbooks that she would bring to campus. Khania is an avid student. He does not want to miss a lesson especially if it is about solving the mystery quiz in his class.
Khania grabbed her phone and looked at her agenda for the next week.
"Huh?! Next week is my birthday!"
Khania's eyes sparkled with pleasure. He'll ask for a gift from his aunt, Disha.
Last year, the man he expected to attend was only able to come after his birthday passed 3 months. This year he does not want the events of last year to repeat themselves.
I don't know since when, Khania's heart felt pounding when talking about Rayshard. Of course, the age difference is far away. Khania knows that. But the heart can never choose who it will anchor to.
Ray often sent goods to Khania although the man rarely came to Indonesia. Of course the work is so much that it is impossible to return to the homeland suddenly.
Even so, Ray took the time to send a message with Khania. His promise to Khayla to always take care of her daughter was in fact misunderstood by Khania.
The girl was still too unstable to be able to control her emotions. He only explodes when he feels Ray's attention on him.
And that night, Khania reveals her heart's desire to Disha.
"Auntie, next week is my birthday. I don't want any special gifts from you!"
"Hmm? Then what do you want, honey?" Disha frowned.
"Auntie, I just want Uncle Ray back." whine Khania to Disha.
Disha looked at Khania. "Darling, you know not if your uncle is very busy..."
"But I just want him, Bi!"
"Auntie will try to talk to Ray's brother. But Aunt can't promise. Why don't you tell him yourself?"
Khania. "I've been texting her a lot, but she seems so busy she doesn't return my messages."
Disha rubbed the top of Khania's head. "That means Uncle Ray's really busy, baby. Yes, it's night. You better get some rest. We'll talk about this tomorrow."
Khania said and went into her room. His joy is receding. He felt that Ray would not come on time for his birthday as he did last year, or that Ray would not come to see him again.
