Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Ray's phone has vibrated many times but the man still ignores the call. He is still focused on his work. That's how the guy is now. Will not take care of others before the work is done.
Two years have passed since his move to the country along with his three proteges. Ray would rather call them that than call them men.
Lexi who heard the sound of vibrations on Ray's phone glanced towards the man. His boss was still busy packing on the flat screen in front of him. Lexi was eager to interrupt the flat-faced man's activities, but it felt unethical to do so. With a slight glance, Lexi looked at Ray's phone and read the name on it.
"Huh?! That's the number from Indonesia. Is that a call from Ray's boss's family?" inner Lexi.
The call goes on many times it means the call is very important. Lexi finally ventured to talk to Ray.
"Sorry, Sir. Your phone keeps ringing. That's a call from Indonesia. I think it's an important call. You better answer first, sir." With a stern voice Lexi tried to speak. He was very unfortunate Ray's temperament which greatly put forward his work.
Ray glanced at Lexi then glanced at her phone. He knew that this was a call from Khania. The girl always asks to be spoiled by Ray. And sometimes Ray doesn't like Khania's attitude.
"Hello" said Ray in a cold voice.
"Sister Ray! Thank goodness you finally answered your phone."
"Disha's? What's up?" Ray frowned.
"I'm sorry if I interrupted my sister's time. But, there's something I need to talk to you about. It's about Khania."
Ray rolled his eyes lazily. "What else is with him? Did he make a move?"
"No, Brother! She ... she already remembers her past. He remembered how his father and mother died."
"W-what?" Ray rounded his eyes.
"Khania is no longer the girl she used to be, sister. How'this? I can no longer face it. He even said that he would find out who killed his parents."
Ray massaged his temple slowly. "alright. I'll set a time to get back to Indonesia as soon as possible."
"Thank you, Brother. Thanks again."
Call ended. Ray was silent with a clenched hand.
"What's up, sir? Did something happen to Khania?" ask Lexi carefully.
"Lex, please have Bastian book me a ticket to Indonesia. If you can find a flight today. The best class. Understood?"
"Yes, Sir. I'll do it soon."
.
.
.
A few hours later, Ray had flown to Indonesia on commercial flight number one. All three of Ray's students still live in Brazil. They finish the job Ray left behind.
"What's really going on, Lex? Why did Mr Ray ask me to book a ticket to Indonesia? Isn't his nephew's birthday still two months away?" ask Bastian.
"You don't seem to know the boss, Bas. He will do anything for the spoiled girl" Isabel said.
"Ish, don't you be so bad. I think there's something going on in Indonesia" Lexi said.
"Looking at Mr. Ray's expression, I think there is indeed an urgent matter," Bastian replied by staring at Lexi and Isabel alternately.
After a tiring journey, even Ray did not have time to rest his body. The thing that came to his mind was to immediately see the state of Khania. Ray had promised to keep Khania, so he had to keep his promise.
Ray arrives at the Wicaksana family residence in the early hours of the morning. Disha welcomes Ray.
"Sister Ray! Thank you for coming" said Disha gratefully.
Ray nodded his head and asked, "How's Khania doing?"
"He's asleep. Brother please rest in the guest room. Tomorrow we'll see Diana's doctor for a consultation."
"Yes. Is Khania coming too?"
"No, Brother! Doctor Diana wants to talk to brother."
"alright. It's night, you rest!" Ray patted Disha's shoulder gently.
.
.
.
The next day, Ray and Disha come to Diana's doctor's clinic. The two men sat opposite the doctor Diana.
Ray looked seriously at the doctor Diana.
"Of course Mr. Ray has heard of Khania's condition, right? I'm sorry that this all happened beyond our control as a doctor. Hypnotherapy only calms him down and tries to live the present life by not remembering things from the past. But that doesn't mean she's forgotten her past memories" said Diana's doctor.
Ray took his breath.
"Khania had already managed to recall her past memories. The accident that happened seven years ago, he remembers it clearly. Plus..." Doctor Diana paused her sentence.
"Added what, Doc?" ask Ray.
"Khania remembers a young man who helped her after the accident" Disha replied.
"A young man?" Ray's wide-eyed.
"Yes. Didn't police officers say Khania was found alone in unconsciousness? There's no one there. Is it possible that Khania is hallucinating?" disha.
Ray looked at Doctor Diana.
"I don't think it's a hallucination, Miss Disha. It could have been that young man, indeed," replied Doctor Diana.
Ray and Disha looked at each other. They tried to guess what was going on in their minds.
.
.
.
Ray saw a young girl standing in front of two tombs. Silent. No sound or anything was heard. Not even sobs.
The young girl stared at the two gravestones that were her parents. That girl is Khania. The 17-year-old girl looks different from the one Ray last met.
Two years is not a short time.
"Khania.." call Ray.
The girl did not answer and did not look at Ray.
"I've remembered everything, Uncle." Khania's sweet voice finally sounded.
Ray stared at me. Khania looked up and looked at Ray.
"My parents didn't die in an accident, but they were wiped out."
Ray is silent now.
"I also know why my parents were wiped out. It's my mom's job, isn't it? He's an agent."
Ray remained silent and did not respond.
"Uncle's job is just like my mom's? You deliberately covered up my father and mother's death."
"Khaniah..."
"I'll find out about all this, Uncle. The reason behind the death of my mother and father. I'll find his yummy. And I will avenge those who did this to them!"
"Khaniah! You don't know what you're dealing with! Don't be rash! Let us do all this!"
"It's been seven years, Uncle! Seven years but you get nothing! Then I no longer need law enforcement like you! I'll do it myself with my hands!" khania said with a fiery voice. The look in his eyes implied a deep grudge.
After saying all these things to Ray, Khania immediately left Ray who was still in disbelief if his little girl was now turned into a girl who harbored hatred and revenge.
