Chapter 5: The Thorny Demon

Chu Mu had received a very complete education since he was born. This included physical training, so even though it was extremely challenging to run through the rough terrain, Chu Mu could still endure it.

Chu Mu advanced along the small river. The stream was formed by the snow on top of the mountain like a sword in the middle of the island. By walking against the flow of water, Chu Mu would no longer be lost.

"Monstrant Mandy?" Chu Mu suddenly slowed down, staring intently at the soul pet who was drinking 100 meters away.

Mandy monsters had a proboscis similar to lizards; with a pink body and sharp ears, they were part of the Beast Type of the Beast World. The Mandy Monster is a short-range fighter who excels in defense and strength while being weaker in speed and agility.

"The Mandy Monster Species ranking should be around Medium."

The strength of a Soul Pet is determined by its stages, and stages can be increased through combat, among other methods. As long as they are trained well, they can always be improved. From the first stage, to the fourth stage, to the ninth stage, and even higher.

So, stages are not an accurate measure of the potential and quality of a soul pet. "Species ranking" is the most important indicator.

The species rating indicates the species superiority of the soul pet.

Two soul pets could both be in the fifth stage, but a soul pet with a Medium species rank would be much stronger than a soul pet with a Low species rank. This is an inherent advantage. It was like comparing a tiger and a dog. No matter how well you train a dog, it will still be difficult for him to defeat a tiger.

Mandy Monsters is a popular choice. After all, pets with a medium psyche are usually easier to control and move up through the stages quickly.

However, Chu Mu did not think too much about this rank. Mandy monsters had many restrictions, such as their slow speed; if she met an agile soul pet or could cast a spell, she would definitely lose.

Chu Mu knew this person. He was called Ge Sen and had brown hair with pale skin and freckles.

“Hehe, don't try to fight it with me!” Although Ge Sen did not say anything, he could see the arrogant smile that the man emitted, pleased with his soul agreement first.

Chu Mu smiled coldly and resolutely walked away faster.

Once the soul pact is cast, there will be two outcomes: One outcome is that the soul pet will belong to the trainer, and the other is the soul pet will become angry.

Although this Mandy Monster rank was Low, from its appearance, it seemed to be at least fourth rank. Being a fully healthy soul pet, the chances of a weak Ge Sen being able to catch him were less than 1%. And the consequences of failure are clear…

“HAOOOO!!”

Chu Mu prepared plenty of food and water for this long journey. The first day, Chu Mu advanced about 7 to 8 kilometers before the sky darkened.

Chu Mu hid inside a small granite cave, blocking the entrance with rocks to prevent the more savage soul pets from eating him.

At night, Chu Mu began to cultivate. Soul pet trainers mainly train their soul strength. Soul power was the source of energy, as well as the source of Chu Mu's life.

Chu Mu had long since prepared his machete, hacking the entire path through the thorny bush.

The forest is at least 200 meters long with trees 3 to 4 meters high, which is higher than some village walls. Chu Mu was small, so there were some places where he could enter.

“Ahhhh!!” Before Chu Mu could react, he was pulled down and dragged along the ground into the depths of the forest.

Through a rough pull he also saw the true identity of this green snake-like creature.

It was not a snake, it was a moving thorny vine!

"Thorny Demon!" Two words immediately appeared on Chu Mu's head.

The thorn bush demon was a vine-type creature in the Kingdom of Plants. Growing only in thorny forests, he specialized in catching creatures that walked through the forest. It is one of the more common carnivorous creatures of the Kingdom of Plants.

Chu Mu knew that the moment he was pulled into the main body of the Bramble Demon, he would be dissected.

Without much time to think in the face of danger, Chu Mu quickly grasped his machete tightly, curled up, and faced the pain of the thorny bush tearing his face apart, he swung towards the tentacles!

Chu Mu used a lot of strength in this swing, so the vine broke down precisely, removing the green liquid from his amputated vine.

Kicking the writhing vine, Chu Mu did not dare to linger anymore. Holding his machete, he quickly crawled through the thorny forest, escaping from the clutches of the Bramble Demon!

Breaking wildly through the forest, the sharp thorny shrub continued to cut Chu Mu, but he did not dare to stop for a second.

The limitless forest seemed to be endless. Chu Mu already felt so tired to the point that he?? can't breathe.

Some bright sunlight flashed, and the thorny forest finally became sparse. Chu Mu finally escaped the green clutches of the thorny forest, coming out far from unscathed.

“Luck Bramble Demon new stage two. If it were two levels higher, with two more vines, I would be in real danger!

Chu Mu crouched behind a boulder, panting while thinking to himself with lingering fear.

The Bramble Demon Species Ranking was low, even lower than the Mandy Monster. However, the Bramble Demon was one of the more aggressive Plant Kingdom soul pets, with a strong starting stage and a rapid increase in rank. If anyone caught this Bramble Demon, they would be able to get it to rank 7 or 8 within three months, so getting the top ten would not be a problem at all for them.

In reality, the Bramble Demon Chu Mu met was very likely to be captured. However, its Species Ranking was too low; despite having a strong early stage, it had no potential.

Chu Mu firmly gave up trying to capture the Bramble Demon.
