That man then agreed. Later, Abu Hurairah Ra advised him to give alms with the intention for the safety of his son.
After facing Abu Hurairah ra and getting the advice to give alms for the safety of the child, the person then immediately carried it out. Alms More Effective than Just Prayer Thus, alms turned out to be more effectively used as an effort to refuse balak or salvation of the soul. In fact, Abu Hurairah ra despite being a widely learned figure, who narrates the most hadiths, and who is very diligent in worship, prefers alms to refuse balak rather than just praying. Alas, stricken by calamity, or other affairs both related to worldly and hereafter affairs, are in fact the creation of Allah sub-nahay wa ta'al. The answer is because there is a factor x that affects it. Academic background, skills, and so on act as intermediaries (resilah) only.
Believing there is this invisible factor, we need to know that there is a substance that is the regulator of various kinds of events, starting sustenance, death, complexity of life twists and turns or whatever form, it may be, there is a ruling substance, Allah is sub-nahal wa ta'al. In the Qur'an is told how the story of the old Prophet Zakariya, at the age of 90 and his barren wife, after he prayed, he was given a child by God named Yahya. Just as Moses fled from his people. After he prayed, in addition to getting a proper shelter, he also found his soul mate. And other stories.
As intelligent beings, of course we have diverse desires. Debt can be paid off, have obedient children, and the like. God gives the solution, by praying, by asking Him. In the Qur'an, Allah sub-nahay wa ta'al says:
وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ
It means: "And thy Lord says: 'Pray ye unto Me, I will grant you'." (QS Gharafir: 60).

Prayers that are not directly granted by God, there are many possibilities. Perhaps Allah will reward him with what the servant imagines for his own prayer, or other possibilities. The most important thing for the servant is husnudh-dhan (good prejudices) to Allah. In the Qudsi hadith it is said: ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ : "I am as my servant thought to me."
Allah is the Most Merciful. He was ashamed when a servant asked Him, but after praying, a servant came home empty-handed. Although it remains based on records, ethics and rules of prayer must be considered properly by a servant so that his prayer is granted by Allah. (Ahmad Mundzir)
