Regarding how to convert to Islam, Sheikh Abdul Qadir Al-Jailani in the Book of Al-Ghunya explained:
أولا أن يتلفظ بالشهادتين: لا إله إلاالله، محمد رسول الله ويتبرأ من كل دين غير دين الإسلام، ويعتقد بقلبه وحدانية الله تعالى....ثم يجب عليه الغسل للإسلام لما روى أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أمر ثمامة بن أثال وقيس بن عاصم لما أسلما بالغسل...ثم تجب عليه الصلاة لأن الإيمان قول وعمل، لأن القول دعوى والعمل هو البينة، والقول صورة والعمل روحها

The second sentence, ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ) that Prophet Muhammad was the messenger of Allah.“ Second, some scholars require bathing for people who have just converted to Islam to refer to the hadith mentioned by Sheikh Abdul Qadir above. While other scholars are of the view that bathing is not mandatory, but only slander.
Third, people who have just converted to Islam are required to pray five times and perform other obligations. In order to understand the procedure of worship in Islam, it is highly recommended for people who are new to Islam to learn and find teachers who can guide them in carrying out daily worship.
