Chapter 9: Ema

“Ajay, papa is not silent. But we have to have an adab against the parents, and that's what papa does. Ajay doesn't want to be a bad boy?” Sonia asked the son who seemed to be listening to her words. Ajay was silent for a moment, in fact the boy's heart was in revolt but his mind confirmed what his mother had said. 

“Iya ma,” Sahut Ajay brief. Sonia takes her son in, hoping that the mother will stop spying on him. With a slightly hesitant step Sonia just kept walking and now the beautiful woman was born on the doorstep.

“Assalamualaikum,” Say Sonia. Ema and Kabir turned their heads and looked at the door, Ema standing there and Ajay looking frightened with the granny's sharp gaze.  

“Waalaikumsalam ..” Sahut Kabir and Ema together. 

“Where are you from, the clock just came home. You do not know that tonight there will be a study and we always prepare the consumption. You should not only be concerned with your work, think of us at home!” Shouted Ema welcoming the arrival of Sonia. 

Kabir stands up and embraces his mother, but the man does not like the way his mother rebukes Sonia. But what to say his mother did not like his wife since they were married, but the love of kabir made the mother was forced to bless her son to marry a woman who was not obedient to her religion. 

“Mother, already ... shame to be heard by people. Ntar thought we are not sincere if there is someone who is horrifying mom about food, Nia you bring Ajay in. Have you prayed?” Kabir asked softly, the man had tried to bring the mother into the middle room so that no neighbors or worshippers heard the mother's nagging. 

“Already mas, it has been praying and now just wait for prayer isya aja.” Sonia answered while taking Ajay to her room as ordered by her husband. 

“You are too pampering wife, try to see how she is the same mother! no courtesy either!” Hardik Ema to the son. 

“Mother, please calm mother's heart. I see Sonia's starting to change, let's go support her. Don't let him alone run his hijra process, I'm afraid he's frustrated and eventually gives up on getting better.” Sahut Kabir is trying to be patient. 

Ema couldn't hold back any longer living together with her unwanted daughter-in-law. In Ema's mind she wants Kabir to marry a righteous woman and according to her choice. 

The debate between Kabir and Ema has finally ended, Sonia is out of Ajay's room and now moves into his room. After cleaning up, Sonia intends to perform the Isya prayer. Semantara Kabir prayed in the mosque as usual, in his prayer Sonia asked for forgiveness and strength to stay in the way of Allah. 

Finished everything now a couple of husband and wife sitting on the sofa that is on the edge of the bed. Kabir is leaving tomorrow and somehow his heart feels heavy leaving his son and wife with Ema, while the mother is already agitated by the existence of the wife. 

Ema is very affectionate with Ajay, but when he is upset with Sonia then the mockery and insult can not be held and finally Ajay listened to the grandmother who said bad about his mother. 

“Mas .. should we contract the house? I feel like you don't like my presence in this house and it's not good for Ajay. What about mas?” Ask Sonia. 

“Tomorrow you will be gone for 5 days and maybe it will be more, how can we both face mommy? Ask Sonia with teary eyes. She could have lived in the apartment she had been dating with Zaki, but she wouldn't do it again because she was determined to separate from Zaki. 

“Or put it this way, as long as I go how about you stay at a guest house or something like that but sharia ones, and take Ajay with you. I'll talk to mom later. I don't want to make you uncomfortable, but even our current state does not allow us to move immediately. You know for yourself the conditions that mother gives, we can move if you can buy your own house and that is by way of cash not nyicil. I hope in the next few months our money is enough and we can buy a house even though small.” Said Kabir at length. 

Sonia was moved by the thought of her husband, she could see Kabir in charge of her. Not only did Kabir think about his physique but also about his psychology. Sonia splashed into her husband's arms, regretting why she had made room for another man to fill her heart. 

Kabir replies to Sonia's embrace, although they are currently living a simple life but Sonia wants to share her shoulders to carry each other during their stay at home. Kabir is not aware of any other man who fills the heart of his wife but the prayer of the man who works as ustadz always asks for Sonia to be able to take care of herself and take care of the heart. 

After a light conversation, now they both move to a medium-sized bed that has been a contest, in difficult or happy. Kabir did not forget to ask God, to be a husband who can make his wife and child happy. 

Time passed, the night changed in the morning, according to plans Kabir prepared to leave following the schedule given by the cottage to fill the study in another city and expected Kabir will leave for 5 days. 

At breakfast, Kabir tries to talk to Ema. She was thinking how best to keep her mother from being offended. Sonia occasionally glanced at her husband, bribing food into his mouth. While Ajay had nothing to change, the boy remained as usual and was used to the grandmother talking loudly or furiously with the mother. 

“Bu, I will be out of town for approximately 5 days, and Sonia happens to be staying near her office. Nia had already moved to another division and her name had just moved to work would definitely require high concentration. I hope you can understand him, Ajay will come with Sonia bu.” Kabir explained. 

Ema is actually happy if Sonia is not at home, but she does not like it if the grandchild is not with her. Despite being bitter and grumpy, actually Ema really loves her grandchild.
