11. Nella's Mom is sick

Hisham is opening the holster. He had just finished his morning prayers with Mita. Suddenly his phone rang. Hisham quickly folded his sarong and his alphabet. Then he picked up his phone which was on the nightstand. On the screen of his phone was Papa calling. Hisham answered the phone from his father.

“Assalamualaikum,” says Hisham.

Hisham silently listened to his father speak. Mita approached her husband and noticed her husband listening to Mr. Bakhtiar speak. He wanted to know what his father-in-law was saying.

“Good, Pah. Hisham will be there,” said Hisham.

“Waalaikumsalam,” replied Hisham.

Hisham ended his talk.

“What's up?” ask Mita curious.

“Mama has vertigo. Brother now want to go there to check Mama.” Hisham got out of bed and got ready to take a shower.

“Mita follow yes, Bang,” says Mita.

“Do not. You're home! You will again bedrest,” replied Hisham.

“Mita wants to see Mama,” whining Mita.

Hisham sighed at the words of his wife. He approached Mita.

“Let's tell you about Mama's situation. You wait at home. Remember you have to bedrest total!” Hisham.

Mita got into the house through the garage.

“Assalamualaikum,” Mita said while standing at the entrance to the family room. He did not dare to enter the house.

Mr. Bakhtiar tried to persuade Ms. Nella but Ms. Nella remained with her stance. Mr. Bakhtiar went out of the room looking for Mita but Mita was not there. He went out to look for Mita. He found Mita crying on the porch.

Mr. Bakhtiar approached Mita.

“Mita,” call Mr. Bakhtiar.

Mita wiped her eyes and stood up.

“Better you just go home, yes! Shipped driver,” said Pak Bakhtiar.

Mr. Bakhtiar sighed. His wife and daughter-in-law were both stubborn.

“Papa try to persuade your Mama again,” said Mr. Bakhtiar. Mr. Bakhtiar went into the house. Mita prayed that her in-laws would forgive her.

Bakhtiar returned to the room he tried to persuade his wife.

“Mah, don't be too hard on Mita. From the beginning Mita never cheated Hisham. Hisham himself wished to marry Mita. Let Mama see Hisham now, he looks happy after marrying Mita,” said Mr. Bakhtiar.

Never mind because of yesterday, Nella's mother said in her heart. Nella's mother felt guilty for saying rudely to Mita.

“Now where is he?” ask Nella's mother.

Mita stood in front of Nella's mother's room, hesitating to enter Nella's mother's room. Mr. Bakhtiar stands behind Mita.

“Come in!” said Mr. Bakhtiar.

Mita went into Nella's mother's room. Nella's mother was lying on the bed.

“Assalamualaikum,” says Mita.

“Waalaikumsalam,” replied Ms. Nella.

Mita approaches Nella's mother and kisses Nella's hand.

“Sit!” said Nella's mother.

Mita sat on the chair next to Nella's mother's bed.

“Papa said, are you bedrest?” ask Nella's mother.

Mita replied with a nod.

“Then why did you come here?” ask Nella's mother.

“You look at Mama,” replied Mita slowly.

“How many months have you been in?” ask Nella's mother.

“Two months,” replied Mita.

“Take care of your content,” said Ms. Nella.

“Iya, Mah,” replied Mita.

Then they just shut up not knowing what to say. Mita did not dare to talk much for fear of mispronunciation. Finally, he remembered the food he had brought.

“Mama has eaten?” ask Mita.

“Not yet. Mama can't eat Mama's stomach nausea,” replied Nella's mother.

“Mita bring rice team for Mama. Mita bribe, yes?” ask Mita.

“Heem.” Nella's mother nodded in agreement.

Mita comes out of the room to take the team rice. Ten minutes later, he brought the rice team back.

“No,” replied Ms. Nella.

Mita takes the team's rice and feeds Nella's mother. Nella's mother chewed her food slowly. Secretly Mr. Bakhtiar opened the door of the room and peeked out. He saw his wife being fed by Mita.

“Alhamdullilah,” said Mr. Bakhtiar.

Finally his wife wants to accept Mita's presence.
