Ocean&Samantha

Ocean&Samantha
He's Back

Baskoro simply replied to the annoyed look from the Ocean. The man knew that if his granddaughter might be angry with him, he also knew that her remark might offend the young girl that Ocean had chosen. Somehow Baskoro has not been able to make peace with the past. According to him, the death and bad luck that his late daughter experienced was one of Samuel, the father of the girl who is currently the choice of Ocean.

If only the old man could open his heart and could see if Martha, his daughter was really happy with her husband, doctor Harris Pratama, Baskoro's best friend. And what happened to the late two was not Samuel's fault.

Samantha looked at Samantha guiltily, if only she knew something like this would happen - of course she wouldn't have invited Samantha to this dinner. Samudra will never even attend the event.

"Samantha, come with grandma yuk. You want to help grandma get ready for dinner?" Said Elsi who did not accidentally approach her husband and all his guests, including the Ocean.

Elsi finds out that her husband's remarks offended Samudra. Moreover, making this beautiful girl who knew nothing almost cry.

At least Elsi wants Samantha to know that she still loves the girl.

"Yes, Grandma." Consider Samantha, a sincere smile she develops all over the corners of her lips.

"Samudra, Grandma's gonna borrow Samantha for a second, okay?" Elsi smiled seductively towards her grandson. He warmly embraced Samantha and took her deeper into the vast parts of her mansion.

....

"So your Grandma and Grandma were very young friends of ours, and indeed we used to plan to match your father with our daughter Martha-mother of Samudra, but well.... unfortunately they're not fools." Elsi. The graceful lady invited Samantha to sit on a sofa close to the flower garden. Before the dinner begins, Elsi wants to explain why Musabab why Baskoro has not been able to accept the fate of their only daughter.

"Don't take the heart of Grandpa Baskoro's words, he's actually a kind and loving man. It's just that the injury from losing our only daughter made her so cynical like that."

"But past events weren't my parents' fault, Grandma."

Elsi nodded and smiled. The woman gently stroked Samantha's face. "Grandmother knows, there is no right or wrong in that matter. What Grandma knew was that the two Ocean parents did love each other. Martha and Harris - their stories are almost similar to yours." Elsi looked towards Samantha. This time the hand of the half-century woman touched the hand of Samantha. The two even clasped each other tightly in their hands.

"Harris, who is older than Martha, is a friend of Baskoro's grandfather and Harris loves Martha, Grandma's son. Like you and the ocean." Elsi smiled, though with teary eyes as she told the story of her late parents from the Ocean.

"And by betrothing and marrying Martha to Sam, your father was a mistake. Until finally Martha lied to your father first. Grandma's son is pregnant and pregnant with the Ocean not with Samuel, your father. But with Harris."

"Samuel, your father loved Maya very much, your mother Samantha. And Martha couldn't accept that until she lied about the pregnancy." Elsi continued her story.

"And Baskoro's grandfather couldn't accept if Martha was having an affair with Harris. It's not really their fault. They just got caught in the wrong situation."

"But Grandma knew, before the accident that took both Samudra-Martha's parents and Harris had been good friends with your father and mother, son." Elsi almost shed tears when she remembered her daughter.

Sensitized, Samantha felt what the old woman felt. Losing a loved one is forever God's toughest ordeal. The girl slowly hugged Grandma Ocean, giving her positive energy to strengthen.

"Patient grandmother, Grandma is not alone. There are still Samudra brothers who love you."

"Thank you, son." The old woman's smile.

"You want to persuade Samudra to understand his grandfather's attitude?"

"Of course, Grandma. Samantha will try to talk to Am later."

The woman again stroked Samantha's face and seconds later a warm embrace Elsi hugged Samantha tightly.

....

The dinner ended with a short talk show. Baskoro looks so busy with Elano. While Elsi brought Samantha back to a room in one of the spacious parts of his mansion. They talk, they talk about everything. From stories in the past about Samudra's birth mother to showing pictures of Martha's childhood, and there are also photos of Samuel and doctor Harris's childhood as a young boy, harris's photos are indeed some that are stored on the album belonging to the Baskoro family. Remember doctor Harris was a friend of Baskoro and also the woman who was about sixty years old.

....

On the other side of the mansion. Samudra and Veronika were chatting around the pool out dor.

If it wasn't for the grandfather's request to accompany Veronika, of course Samudra would have been reluctant to have a conversation with Veronika like this.

"I didn't know that my grandson was you, Am."

The smiling ocean knot responded. He looked at the face of Veronika who was currently sitting before him. Something was different about that girl. Veronika looks more mature, calmer and no longer selfish like a while ago. For appearance, of course the girl looks more beautiful.

"How would it go if you were--"

"The son of Elano Wijaya?" Veronika immediately cut off the Ocean question.

The girl smiled for a while, looking around the outdoor room with a view of the pool and some neatly arranged trees.

"After you leave me-em, I mean after we completely broke up. I returned to Boston with a broken heart. Until I told Mama everything about our relationship. About Aunt Maya and Om Samuel being so good to me."

The ocean pulled its eyebrows, focusing more and more on looking towards Veronika who paused the story for a while.

"Then Mama told me about her past. And it turns out - Mama I know Aunt Maya and Om Sam."

Veronika grinned for a while, took a deep breath and then stood up from her seat. The girl turned her back to the Ocean while looking up at the sparkling stars that tonight were so clear.

"The three of them had a relationship in the past, Am. Love triangle is so complicated." Veronika turned towards the Ocean then returned a small grin.

"Then Mama told me about a man named Elano Wijaya. And you know what?" The girl paused her sentence again.

"It turns out that Elano Wijaya, a famous businessman from Jakarta is my real father. A man who wouldn't acknowledge me as his son. Until he realized his mistake."

Veronika took a deep breath again, then sat back before the Ocean.

The ocean grinned, staring at Veronika as if in disbelief upon hearing all the stories from the girl.

"I'm so glad you found your real father, Ve."

"Thank's, Am." Veronika smiled towards the Ocean, looking sincere.

In the eyes of the Ocean this time, Veronika looked completely changed. It was no longer the selfish and spoiled girl like before.

"It turns out the world is narrow, isn't it?" Veronika said as she gazed towards the Ocean.

"You mean?"

"Yes, I think after we've really broken up - I'll never see you again but our past turns out to be intertwined. Me, you and Samantha. We're like a connected circle." Veronika paused her speech. Looking towards the Ocean that was just a small smile.

"The grandson again, my real father, Elano Wijaya was the ex-boyfriend of Aunt Maya, hehehe...." Veronika returned grinning. "What a coincidence, Am I? Maybe God purposely brought the three of us together, right?" Veronika's eyebrows were now raised.

"So-are you engaged?"

"Hem?" The ocean stuttered, not focusing on the question Veronika asked.

"Hehehe, since when did you become so unfocused, Samudra?" kekeh Veronica. The smile returned to decorate the beautiful face of the girl.

"So you and Samantha are engaged?" Veronika repeated her question.

"Yes" nods the Ocean.

"When are you planning on getting married?"

"Fastly," answered Samudra briefly.

"Oh--I doain hope you guys are happy."

There was a heavy and disappointed tone Veronika was trying to hide.

"Thank..."

"Hm," Veronika nodded with a sweet smile.

"What about you, Ve?"

"I? Why me?"

The ocean could only look at Veronika meaningfully, without being able to carry on the meaning of the question.

"Oh-I'm still alone right now, hehehe...."

"Why?"

Veronika could only smile wryly, then shook her head softly. "No papa, I still want to go alone, Am!"

When answering him there was a sense of disappointment that Veronika hid. Don't you understand that I still wish for you, Samudra? Veronika.

The shady gaze of the Ocean always made the girl misbehave. Both of them looked silent at that moment. The ocean just stared up at the sky. Amazingly, tonight the sky was clear without any clouds. The stars also glittered beautifully. But somehow what Ocean felt was the opposite, there was guilt in his heart.

Ah, it's supposed to be her and Samantha's night tonight.

My God, the ocean almost forgot about the girl. Where's Samantha?

He took a deep breath, not wanting his guilt and memories of his past with Veronika to come back to disturb his mind. The ocean stood up from its seat. "Sorry Ve, I have to go back inside." Say the Ocean with a heavy voice.

"All right." Veronika nodded slowly, a friendly smile formed from the corner of her lips.

"E-Samudra...!"

The man stopped his steps and turned his head back towards the girl who was currently standing looking at him.

"Yes?"

"May I still see you sometime?"

"Hm," nods Samudra slowly.

"Thank's." Veronika again gave a sweet smile.

The ocean turned and continued its steps. Heavy breaths were heard from him many times.

...

Meanwhile from a distance at the other end of the mansion, a beautiful girl looked at them with a glare. It felt like he wanted to walk towards them, shouting if the man was his. But he's not that careful. Samantha could only stare at the two. Wishing between them was just a conversation of a friend, nothing more.
